 *    A Word From Pastor Phil...

The National Pastors' Prayer Network exists to serve Pastors who have caught the vision ot pray together towards revival, spiritual awakening and city transformation. In America. And in nations across the continents.   As we are given Holy Spirited connections with Pastors' Prayer Group leaders and mobilizers in other nations, our hope is to provide useful resources for them as they cast the vision to pray for the whole Church to take the whole Gospel to their whole nation.  This fall, over one hundred pounds of resources, including the NPPN Manual "Prayorit!ze," were shipped in "M" bags and padded envelopes to more than half a dozen of these leaders. In Zambia. Nigeria. India...

Pray with us, that the NPPN to discover those men and women God has raised up to call Pastors together in prayer-bathed humility to receive prayer-birthed strategy leading to pray-based ministry,

Pastor Phil

XIII HARVEST EVANGELISM INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
MAR DEL PLATA CITY

Just as the Conference organizers were telling us from the microphones, Argentina was being converted in a world pulpit.

There were several reasons for this title:
One of them: more than about three hundred leaders from many nations (South Africa, with a large group, New Zealand, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, the Usa, with a great group either. Caribean countries, Norway, England, Canada, China, and all our neighboring countries as well (Brasil, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia). All these leaders, came back to their own countries as nation transformers. They were ministered, they were taught in the Conference, but they practiced and were in touch with the needy people in Argentina, working with the provinces team leaders. They have been trained while they were helping us, (we're thankful for them!!!), but right now, they can help to their own churches and countries applying all this practical teaching received in these days. As brother Ed Silvoso told them, “If you were doing things good, now you'll do it better now.”
The other one: The core idea of “Getting into the Marketplace”, in an extensive meaning of the word, was applied in such an extensive scope, that were no areas of the so called "world without Jesus” that were not affected by the week end effort in all Argentina's provinces.(On October 25th and 26th weekend). There were also practical expressions of compromise of God's people with our social situation. Gifts were given to government and marketplace leaders. International leaders were helping us side by side, and obeying to the Great Commission as well.
All of this happened, after converting our country in a "Prayer Sanctuary," connected by the TV antenna all along our countryside, and applying the previous model in five provinces (please, see Global Edition October's issue talking about it).

ON TUESDAY, they were all gathered in Mar Del Plata City.

PREACHERS AND MINISTRATION

We thank to international preachers who attended and helped us. But in this section, we will talk about Argentina’s lecturers, who ministered to the world from here.  On Wednesday night, Carlos Annacondia, showed a tender heart toward the lost ones. He firstly asked to the presents, who attended for the first time, an evangelical meeting and asked them to raise their hands. He preached for them, as a first instance. He took the Bethesda pool John’s passage, were “a great number of disabled people used to lie” (NIV).
A truly “disabled one”, had visited Bethesda
s pool in Jerusalem, and heard by a tourist guide, this story. He was an Argentine's marine, in his last trip, before his retirement caused by his paralysis. He thought, hearing this history in the pool, "well, here there is power". And he took away a stone from it, came to his hotel, and passed this stone on his skin, expecting a miracle. But nothing happened.  He came back to our country, disappointed, waiting for the order for his retirement. But, one night, he listened in the loudspeakers, crossing an open air campaign, the voice of Carlos Annacondia, talking about Bethesda's pool. He heard: “Nothing from that pool can heal you...it was not the angel, not the stones...it was Jesus! And the same Jesus, was alive, powerful to heal you and save you.”
This marine, heard and believed as well.  After a fortnight, he came up to the platform where testimonies were shared in Carlos' campaigns, and he came up....walking...! . In all the ministrations in the Macro Stadium in Mar del Plata, whoever minister was ( Cindy Jacobs, Claudio Freidzon, Carlos Annacondia as others), we always recognized the invisible Hand of God, moving in His power).

Juan Zucarelli, taught us about the impossible. The mostly unreachable marketplace, a prison, may be changed into...a six thousand believer's church ! By the power of God. He told us from the very hard beginnings, an unreachable place for him, until the incredible moment where prison authorities offered him the UNIT 25's prison's keys! Believers inmates, it was painted, arranged, and now, this UNIT IS 100% Christian.
The authorities recognized that this believers inmates produce a save of money for the Government. It is not necessary to invest extra money in health care for injuries, casualties, or drugs ingestion, very common in every prison. There is no corruption in UNIT 25. They run Government's money in a clear way, with proved integrity. One of their pastors, was formerly one of the hardest inmates. Now he's got a congregation of one thousand and five hundred believers.

Sergio Scattaglini, taught us, in his always direct way of teaching, about holiness, a God's miracle in our life, not something achieved in our own strengths. We need passion for embracing our promises. To recover our lost territory, closing our own doors to curses, to rejection. Our task is to preach the gospel, even to our household, even those ones "hard, uneasy, for spiritual matters. Our lack of faith, puts our hearts in darkness. But, from our last battlefield place, we can stand up, and conquer!

Claudio Freidzon, taught us about long desperate situations, low valleys. God can take us from there, and put us in the highest places, by His mighty hand. And suddenly, by this change, we feel ourselves as if this “new cloth,” new situation, that begin to feel that we do not qualify in higher places! The Lord wants us to grow. But, after these desserts, we have been taught by Him, to trust in Him, and not in our own strengths. He encouraged us to trust in a new time for us.

INTERNATIONAL LEADERS

Neutza Itioka, from Brasil. She shared “Faith Declaration.”
James Davies, from the USA, gave us an edifying talk about God's leading, based upon the book of Exodus.
Cindy Jacobs, ministered us about a New Argentina, and Joseph's Generation (young people, with ministration as well).
And Harold Caballeros, in the first night meeting, spoke and encouraged us about God's dream.

MAR DEL PLATA EXPERIENCE

Pastor Omar Olier, and other ones from MDP'S Pastors Association, gave witness of the tremendous advance of the Kingdom of God there. After they humiliated themselves, and began to work together, things began to change in the city. They entered in the marketplace, in the Police Department, the Education arena, in the shops, in hospitals. They got a place in the same city Government, where the mayor offered them an office for the pastors.  This mayor attended in the Conference, for thanking the gift of a health aid container, to MDP's Pastors and Harvest Evangelism Foundation. He proclaimed, that MDP city, “IS GOD'S CITY.”

VIDEOS, DRAMAS AND TYPICAL DANCES

From almost all well known countries and cultures in the world, including tribes (from America, and Argentina as well). There was a prophetic message in all of them, and every night, we enjoyed Tupanoi's songs, from Corrientes province, Argentina.

Edgardo Silvoso -
In several talks, he spoke from different points of view, about the power of pardon, in order to advance against any devil attack. We give him our territory, if we do not pardon someone. God's power cannot work in us.
Edgardo taught us, from the Word of God, how not to be allergic to people. Our received blessings, should not be kept within church's walls. Based on Luke chapter ten, he spoke about how to:
-bless, and give peace when we enter a house, or the marketplace we come in.
-to eat and share with people.
-to pray for needs, to ask for God's miracle when it is necessary. Extraordinary miracles, that were never performed. We can ask for them, in favor of these lost and loved people.
-to open our mouth, and share the kingdom's gospel.
There is a process movement, in all what we have been doing.  Since changing the spiritual climate in one place by means of Light Houses (prayer houses, until the cities conquer, and finally, nations transformation. All revivals are marketplace revivals. When God meets someone, he gives to this person, practical instructions of what to do.
He also taught us about “Transformation at the Marketplace”, by means of seven tracks:
        -Worshippers.
        -Intercessors.
        -Pastors.
        -Businessmen.
        -Education.
        -Government.
He shared with us how seventy points in the City were spiritually affected, while the local radio gave information about the Conference. After the Conferences in the morning held in Hotel Sheraton, in the afternoon, city transformers, each one of these mentioned “tracks”, made their task in the previously appointed place by their leaders. We could see in the afternoon, to our brothers and sisters in full activity. All the city was shaken by this Conference: taxi drivers and shop attendants, were talking about it.  Jesus was the mostly well-known person, the Lord of the city, because an obedient people in unity, learned how to obey him.

Liliana Ester Long- attendant at the Conference, reporting for the NPPN.

I am a Baptist Pastor in the Nigerian Baptist Convention with 12 years proven experience in the service of the Lord. I am also into prayer ministry which lead me to discovered NPPN. I also learnt that you came to Nigeria last year but i was not in the system of the NPPN then reason i did not know you were coming. I am  base in Lagos. Lagos is the largest city in Nigeria even in Africa with about 23-25 Millions people . I want to ask on behalf of my people in our prayer ministry, both the Advisory Board and the Workers even from Brother pastors in the Nigerian Baptist Convention that what help can you render to us as we also love to organise this wonderful NPPN in Nigeria especially in the Nigeria Baptist Family and across the Christendom in our Country? As regards to this what help can your office render  to me on how to gather pastors in a large number for effective prayer. To the glory of God I am a member of National Pastor Prayer Retreat Committee for the Nigerian Baptist Convention. I was once a chairman for the pastors fellowship. In fact many pastors do attend our prayer seminars. Please pastor i need your supports, people in my Baptist family and others churches are looking for some thing new with our prayer ministry in Baptist and in Nigeria since they know I am in to prayer ministry. I shall be very grateful for all and any help you may render. His Servant. Israel

>Date:  Nov 4, 2003

God told me of a prophecy some time early this year that He would make a way for me to affect lives with my prayer ministry in the Nigerian Baptist Convention the denomination i had served for over 12 good years with my. Two weeks ago the chairman of Pastors fellowship wrote a letter to me to come and attend a meeting with them at our secretariat here in Lagos. The meeting was about our National Pastor Retreat coming up on Nov.11-14 at redemption Camp. I am been chosen to be in charge of prayer sessions and to put in place a programme for the entire Pastors Fellowship on how to bring pastors together for prayers on Monthly bases. This is a wonderful opportunity which can only be created by God where we have more than 13,000 thousands pastors and the level of my education and age  very far to that place humanly speaking but God has said it and He has done it.
Now can you just give me some of the methods and strategics you use with your Regional prayer gatherings if it could be helpful with us here. The opportunity will surely help me in getting the attention of several pastors for the prayer revival we are praying for in Baptist family and in Nigeria churches. Please, pray with me for heaven to release wisdom unto me and ability to produce results. Since i have know your ministry i have began to witness a turn around in my life and ministry,i am most bless to have meet and to have you as friends.
I look forward to hear from you soon for any counsel on how to bring thousands of pastors together for prayer. God bless you. His servant, Israel

   --->NPPNote: I sent several suggestions via e-mail...

Pastor Phil,
Glory be God in the highest for the just concluded National Pastors' Retreat[ Nov.11-14]. We praise the almighty for the success recorded at the retreat. The retreat was well attended over 500 participants attended the retreat, though is very low when consider the population of ministers in the Nigerian Baptist Convention. There were life inspiring messages and sessions of intercession. Pastors were encouraged, lifted, and richly blessed.

Now pastors see the need for coming  to pray together and as result i am been given the job to put in place a workable principles and guides line for effective pastors prayer group. I encouraged participant to pray together during the retreat so that they can continue when they get back home. There is need for a meeting point for those who might be coordinators in various states to come together soon.

Now there is need to get pastors' who will serve as coordinators informed about the principles that will make the pastors' prayer group work and effective. This is where i want you to please render all the assistance needed. And most importantly you put us in your calendar to visit us in the nearest future. I have informed the leadership of National Pastors' Here about you and your ministry that will help us.

I discovered that some pastors are in one prayer group or another but is like so say to limited people like those who studied together at the same seminary and the same time and year. And they meet like one or twice a year. What i also noticed is that there a lots to do for effective result for pastors to prayer together but pastors show interest. What can you do for us? His servant, Israel A.

2.    SERBIA: 30 PRAY FOR BREAKTHROUGH

>From: Marc van der Woude <joel-news@xs4all.nl>>

Former Joel News editor Branko Bjelajac reports that a first-ever prayer gathering was held in Serbia, October 20-22. He reports:

"It marked a spiritual breakthrough in the dark skies over Serbia. Thirty of us came from various churches and places. On the first night we prayed over Serbia, cried to God for all of our iniquities and brought them to the cross. Most of us washed them out with tears of repentance. It was a sweet taste that night. The next day was a day of teachings and prayer, fellowship and sharing. The third day was a continuation of prayer and a special time of silence, followed by sharing what the Lord was speaking and showing us. The participants were glad that something of this sort occurred in Serbia.

"The Lord has been pouring out his Spirit of prayer subsequently. A number of churches and Christian organisations had special days of prayer and fasting. The most noted one was on November 3, the International Ladies Day of Prayer. This very week will be filled with prayer and intercession for our nation, which is undertaking yet another election campaign for a president. The last Serbian president is on trial for war crimes in the Hague! The 2002 presidential campaigns ended up in a deadlock, creating a political crisis. The state of Serbia is without an officially elected president and, since the assassination of Zoran Djindjic this Spring, also without elected Prime Minister! Therefore a special day of prayer and fasting is scheduled for Friday, November 14. Please join us again in prayer and help us believe for peace and stability in the region and salvation of the nation.

"We are alerting our praying friends worldwide that the spiritual battle for the people of Serbia has began - help us, support us in prayer, fasting and intercession. Serbia belongs to Jesus, the Prince of Peace!"

6.    BAGHDAD: EVANGELICALS FEED THE NEED

>From: "ASSIST News" <assistnews@adelphia.net>
>At: <http://www.assistnews.net/>
>By Stefan J. Bos, Special Correspondent, ASSIST News Service

BAGHDAD, IRAQ  (ANS) -- As rockets rocked several high profile buildings, including the Oil Ministry in the Iraqi capital Baghdad Friday, Nov. 21, Evangelical relief agencies said they will stay despite ongoing violence that already saw a reduction of Red Cross and United Nations staff. (Pictured: Happy Iraqi child).

The announcement came on a day that 8 rockets fired from donkey carts hit the Ministry while soon after six other rockets slammed into the Sheraton and Palestine hotels, where many foreign journalists and diplomats used to stay.

There were reports of only a few injuries as most people did not yet visited the nearby breakfast facilities in the hotel. Coalition forces raided the Sheraton and other locations in search for the attackers and apparently carried one wounded suspect with them, television footage showed.

Separately, the U.S. military reported that another American soldier from the 4th Infantry Division had been killed in an explosion north of Baghdad on Thursday, Nov 20, but details of the incident were not immediately released, news reports said.

COMBAT ACTIVITY

But an official of the Evangelical relief organization Food for the Hungry said the recent combat activity will not stop their projects. "Food for the Hungry is known for going to the hard places. And, as long as we are assured that our staff or our partners will be safe we will continue to go to these places," said representative Tamara Dutch in an interview with Mission Network News (MNN), a Christian broadcaster.

Dutch added that working with local churches gives believers credibility, opening doors to share their faith. "We have distributed to families in both Baghdad and Mosul. (In) Baghdad Food for the Hungry and its partners have helped a little over 1,000 families (and) 1,000 families also in Mosul," the troubled northern Iraqi town.

Baptist and other organizations have also made clear they will continue with relief efforts at a time when church leaders report a hunger for both the Gospel of Christ and aid in the war town nation.

Donations for Food for the Hungry can be made on website: http://www.fh.org <http://www.fh.org/>   or in the U.S. call 800-2-hunger.

7.    URBANA: CASTING THE GLOBAL VISION

>From: "ASSIST News" <assistnews@adelphia.net>

MADISON, WIS  (ANS) -- This December 20,000 college students, missionaries, and church and campus leaders will gather for Urbana 03, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship's 20th Student Mission Convention. The event is held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from December 27-31, 2003.

Jim Tebbe, Director of Urbana, says, "Students in the 21st century will be the greatest missionary force the world has ever seen. Urbana helps students find their place in God's global mission.”

The theme for this convention is “Your Kingdom Come, Your Will Be Done”. “Missionaries don’t advance God’s Kingdom; they reveal it. Urbana will shed a lot of light on God’s global mission.” says Tebbe.

Dr. John Stott, author, theologian, and missionary from the United Kingdom will open the convention with a talk on radical discipleship. Each morning students will participate in small group Bible studies and hear Bible teaching on the gospel of Luke in the general sessions. In the evening they will be challenged with talks on lordship, evangelism, cross cultural conversion, and missions. During the afternoons, delegates can choose from 300 different in-depth topical seminars and interact with missionaries from more than 325 missions agencies, graduate schools and seminaries.

“We have been delighted by the response of students registering to attend Urbana. We still have about 3,000 spaces open for delegates, ”comments Tebbe. For registration details, visit www.urbana.org/go/register <http://www.urbana.org/go/register> .

8.    MEXICO CITY: BARRIO CHURCH PLANTING

>From: "Anne E. Beel" <aebeel@byhisgrace.com>

Victory belonged to the Lord on Nov. 29!   God worked so much through your prayers for last Saturday’s Church Planter Network Meeting that we believe His Spirit even guided many who could not find their way to the meeting place.  Yes, it was obvious the enemy was trying keep believers from arriving because many people got lost on their way to the church.  But everyone made it and  the number in attendance surpassed even our high hopes.  130 people came to the meeting!  Praise Him!  Some were children and some missionaries but 70 were Mexican church planters longing to serve, to be encouraged, and to be an encouragement to others.  The theme of the night was humbling to us missionaries.  These men and women who struggle to make ends meet working full time in secular jobs spoke of being faithful and obedient to their call to start churches.  A few of those planters who are also new believers shared the tremendous joy they have in serving the Lord.  To these new believers, it’s not even a sacrifice- it’s an act of gratitude to their Lord.  And now this army for Him has been more unified- the group even looked more like a team because everyone was given a T-shirt.

What some new works have been doing lately.   The group in Francisco Villa led by Ramon Cervantes, whose team member Agripina died several months ago after being hit by a car, continues evangelizing in their neighborhood.  This is a strong group, probably due to the adversities they’ve faced, and just this week they were going to be showing another film in the community in order to try to reach more people for Christ.  In another area of the city, Renovacion, the opposition is strong.  Rut Lopez says her group, whose team leader Julio Rodriguez died, is still focused on prayer walking and seeking the Lord’s leading to a person of peace because thus far this community wants nothing to do with Christians.  And finally, the group in Granjas Cabrera is trying a creative evangelical outreach approach.  Gina and Carlos Condado have seen so many family problems in their neighborhood that they’ve asked a skilled counselor to come and give a workshop aimed at helping families and stopping abuse.  They and the other few members of this new church have invited friends and family to this program where Carlos also takes part of the session to share from God’s Word.  This team has been encouraged because from 8 to 12 adults have been in attendance.

Please Pray:
    Praise God for the success of the first Church Planters’ Network Meeting and continue to pray for the church planters- that they depend on the Lord for strength to stay at the task;
    Pray for the groups in Francisco Villa, Renovacion, and Granjas Cabrera to be able to spread the gospel rapidly so that these communities can be reached for Christ;
Pray for comfort for the Boyter family as they face the imminent death of David Boyter’s sister, Trudy,  who has been suffering from brain cancer and they also ask for wisdom regarding travel plans,
And finally we all remember this special time of year the hope we have in the greatest gift of all, our Lord Jesus- let’s be spurred on to pray for the salvation of the nations.

Merry Christmas,
The Beel, Boyter, Crino, Ignacio, and Ortega families, and Alyson Geery, Holly Hall, Jeanie Moore, Greta Nelson, Rachel Nowell, and Traci Renneker

9.    CANADA: FROM STRIP CLUB TO HOUSE OF RPAYER
>From: Marc van der Woude <joel-news@xs4all.nl>

Praying Christians in Eastern Canada have been asking God during the last few months to change their city from the inside out. As a result they've seen a drug house close in their area and now the local strip club shut down, to be reopened soon as a house of prayer.

Steve, the club DJ, became a Christian earlier in the year and for several months kept his job at the Strip Bar. His testimony helped bring the strip show to a close and secure the group's purchase of the building. They hope that many of the club's former clients will frequent the building again in the future, as a house of prayer and healing.

10.    BOOK LOOK: MISSIONS AT THE EDGE

Missions At The Edge:  Moving Past Cultural Christianity
Mission Frontiers  November-December 2003 p.9

In conjunction with the International Society for Frontier Missiology and the Alliance for Missions Advancement, the Evangelical Fellowship of Mission Agencies (EFMA) conducted its 2003 annual meeting September 15-18 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The theme: "Missions at the Edge: Moving Past Cultural Christianity." EFMA president Paul McKaughan comments,

"The edge is a monumental place. People used to think the edge was the place where one fell off into the abyss. Today we know the edge is where innovation takes place. The edge is where the impetus for renewal always starts. It is at the edge that true transforming mission happens. Too often we who have organizations and positions of responsibility still look at the edge as the place where historic gains are threatened. We often feel immobilized by the possible threats to theology and practice and fail to perceive the very holy seeds of transformation that exist at the edge.

The edge is that location where Biblical faith encounters the belief systems of those who do not acknowledge Christ as Lord. This is the place where our theological reflection ceases to be theoretical and becomes intensely practical. This same faith encounter with the people at the edge can and must take place in our own culture if mission is to be effective. In the encounter at the edge the Holy Spirit applies his word and we as instruments of his grace are enriched with new understanding of what it means to be followers of our Lord. The Holy Scriptures take on new significance at the edge. By this wonderful work of the Holy Spirit lives and society are transformed by the power of the Gospel."

11.    ARGENTINA: NATIONAL PASTORS RETREAT

>From: "Liliana long" <siempreconfines@hotmail.com>

The National Pastors Retreat, under the title of "The Argentina that God Wants", was held in Cordoba province, with an assistance of more than one thousand pastors coming from all our country. We spoke on that time, about nine pillars of a "United National Transformation Project".

One : one weekly prayer altar from the pastors belonging to the same place and two, to unify in one network all these prayer groups who exist in this country.

Concerning to this item, the attendants proposed to organize regional meetings or seminars for sharing and mobilizing to other leaders, and ask to one of the  mostly Pastor's Associations, ACIERA, to promote regional meetings.

Concerning to prayer networks: 89% of the attendants, reported of any intercession network in their cities, and 60% reported that their intercession items are sent by their own congregation are being sent to any other prayer network.  Others, have their own congregation network.

The main difficulty in getting one unique intercession network, which should link all these ones previously mentioned, consists in:
    - “A different ministry vision.
    - doctrine conflicts.
    - lack of compromise with unity vision.
    - a little vision of the Kingdom of God, organization problems as well".

Three: a massive evangelization plan. From 30% of all  pastors requested, they reported that there was a kind of united evangelization plan in their own city or town.  The suggested changes, should be "pastors unity", "churches unity, with a vision stressed upon the city and not the congregation. By the other side, churches should be under coordinated evangelization programs, data processing. When the pastors were asked why they were so concentrated in their own efforts in local congregations, they answered that " tradition, pride, fear, lack of training and practice", were the main reasons for this attitude.

Let us remember the other points:
-to help maturing national leadership, to teach all the believers, providing them information from our common evangelical basis,
-to give a cultural transformation. To provoke prophetically a challenge in our midst. And finally, to gather social and aid efforts.

The final response, for all these points, was the following one:
Regional pastors retreats were suggested, united aid campaigns, interchanging
pulpits among different churches and pastors in the city.
Offers from one church to another and from a group of churches to hospitals or social   welfare  institutions.
United prayer in Pastors Associations, and common leaders retreats organized
by a group of churches in the city".

These pastors recognized," So far, all this did not happen, because the main  difficulties were lack of pastoral unity, and lack of resources for expressing this prophetic voice. And it was needed, to get a common criterion."
