Because some people notice the Internet provides variety of inappropriate contents, there are real and essential needs to have good and hopeful contents online. Once we received the Good News, we can't keep this Hopeful news inside but have to share with other peoples. In early Spring 2000, pastors, brothers, and sisters from different churches started to create http://www.hopeway.org/ Our mission: 1) To spread the Gospel of Salvation to the Chinese and Vietnamese peoples who are scattering around the world 2) To reach out to those looking for Hope 3) To share God's love Our plans: 1) To simplify the gospel message so that anyone can understand and relate to their immediate needs 2) To translate the gospel materials in Vietnamese, Chinese and other as available 3) To provide gospel contents for missionaries and churches worldwide Hopeway: http://www.hopeway.org Do pray for Thai-Hoa as he develops this site. Brian Mills and the leaders of the European Prayer Link team have a vision to see this transformation take place through the development of prayer networks, initiatives and strategies. Representatives from many European nations (East and West) will be at Ashburnham for this conference and will be sharing their insights. This is a unique, one-off opportunity to come to grips with Europe - the unrevived continent. Europe is the major focus of round-the-world praying for the next five years. If you would like to be part of praying for Europe during these years, then come along for these two days and begin! The conference lasts from lunch on Wednesday 15 November to breakfast on Friday 17 November. The cost is just £61 per person, full board. To book your place, please write to: The Bookings Secretary, Ashburnham Place, Battle, East Sussex TN33 9NF For more details about this, or any of our other events, please call 01424 892244 or check out our website on www.ashburnham.org.uk _________________________________________>>> *PRAYER: HOLY ABANDON >From: "Francois Carr" The classic revival text, 2 Chronicles 7:14, says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." Actually that whole verse speaks of prayer. If Gods people shall first "humble themselves," they simply get on praying ground. Then when they "seek Gods face" they simply keep on pleading with God, begging God, waiting on God in prayer. And when "they turn from their wicked ways" they are simply removing the hindrances to prayer. Prevailing prayer is the secret of revival. Dr A.R. Torrey tells how a few young men met night after night and prayed until the revival of 1905 came in Wales, with Dr Torrey leading. In that revival about one member the haystack prayer meeting where some college started much of the missionary movement. In England a bed-ridden saint of God prayed until God brought Moody from America to England, then prayed until hundreds of souls were saved in her church. Charles G. Finney tells how Abel Clary followed him in revival meetings and prayed, often not attending the services but waiting and weeping before God for His power. Father Nash also was moved to pray mightily for the Finney revivals, and Finney himself ascribed the power of God which came upon him largely to the prayers of men such as these, as well as his own prayers. If we are to have revivals we must prevail with God in prayer. God waits on men for revivals. God is ready to do His part. The harvest is white, but the laborers are few. We should continually pray that God will send laborers into His harvest. And His requirements I think we might sum up very simply. In Jeremiah 29:12,13 we are told: "Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart." We can find Gods power, His might, His miraculous manifestation in revival if we simply seek God with all our hearts. God wants His people to seek revival with a holy abandon. Paul suffered the loss of all things and counted them but dung. No wonder God could use him to save souls! Paul went "night and day with tears," both "publicly, and from house to house" in his preaching at Ephesus (Acts 20:20,31). Paul could wish himself accursed from Christ to win the Jews! (Rom.9:3). This holy abandon which God requires of those who would be His laborers, would make it so that human love would seem incidental. A man for love of Christ would appear to hate father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brothers, and sisters, and houses and lands, yea, and his own life also! (Luke 14:26). Oh, this holy business of winning souls ought to get such a hold on a Christians heart that nothing else in this world could much matter! This is the one business that makes Heaven rejoice, that adds stars to the crown of the Lord Jesus, that brings eternal glory to the soul winner. So in Christ's dear name, let us offer ourselves living sacrifices to be the laborers God can use to win souls and bring about revival. ( Dr John Rice). _________________________________________>>> *HEARTCRY FOR SOUTH AFRICA >From: "Francois Carr" The Purpose To stimulate hunger for Revival To intensify prayer for Revival To be refreshed in Gods presence and encouraged collectively To relate to historical and biblical dimensions Who May Attend * Pastors and Ministers * Denominational Leaders * All Believers with a vision and burden for Revival Topics to be discussed *Gods heart-cry for worldwide revival *Prayer, etc The Opportunity Revival Congresses SA provides all those who attend, occasion for a fresh meeting with God and for personal needs to be met. Staff members Larry Ihle, Scott Kilber, and Dick Hochreiter accompanied founders Ed and Ruth Silvoso on a recent visit to Manila, the country's capital. When they arrived at the Hyatt Hotel, the men offered to pray with the general manager, who decided to follow Christ, the ministry said. The manager and another worker then introduced them to 40 other employees. As the men prayed with each of them, several experienced physical healings and 20 became Christians, the ministry said. On Sunday morning, they held church in the hotel and seven of the new converts were baptized there in their new congregation. The ministry team also connected the new congregation with a local pastor who will oversee the church. "From now on, anyone checking into the hotel is also checking into a church," the missionaries said. We had our 4th Pastors Prayer Summit last week, which was a major step forward in pastors catching the vision to reach the city. The menu for the NPPN meeting in St Louis in October looks great, but alas too far to come! It is great! May I request that you include news from Ministers Prayer Network (MPN) in your next mails, postings and website. Ministers' Prayer Network (MPN) exists to help Christian Leaders and serious minded Ministers to recover the original main thrust of the early church and so stay focused on prayer, the word of God, and dynamic spiritual leadership, as they fulfill their callings and ministries so that saints will be perfectly equipped for every work of ministry and edification of the body of Christ and facilitate a steady progressive spiritual growth towards unity of faith and full knowledge of the son of God as we all mature to that full measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ. The forum also seeks to discourage mediocrity, compromise and weakness of character in ministry, and to promote excellence, faithfulness, accountability, integrity and godly virtues. It grew to this from simply being a prayer meeting of willing hearts of those in Ministry (by this we mean those who serve God in one capacity or the other) in the city of Port Harcourt Nigeria since January 18, 1995. The 4th international Ministers/Christian Leaders Prayer and Leadership Conference Nigeria 2000 (January 14, 2000) had in attendance delegates from five continents of the world, namely Africa, Europe, North America, Asia, South America and representative of the United Nations. The faith of these men is challenging as they defied the Y2K SCARE that caused many to postpone travel in the early days of January 2000. Africa 2001 is a continental wide Prayer & Leadership Conference involving most mainline denominations and independent churches in Africa. It will take place from January 7 - 12, 2001 at Civic Centre, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. The Speakers are drawn from several nations. For enquiries contact: Conference hot line: Tel. 234-84-233669, 237778; Fax: 234-84-237779. Email: outreachng@aol.com. Thanks, Rev. Mosy U. It was a powerful time and we've been invited to return and spread the fire of God in Cebu City. We ministered to 150 leaders for 2 days and shared at a barrio leadership banquet on the other side of the island, near Toledo City. Perhaps the most rewarding part was being touched by the children's lives at Happy Horizon's Children's Ranch directed by Glenn & Nancy Garrison (A/G missionaries). They are doing such an awesome work there and have such great potential to touch lives in such a needy part of the world, i.e. the street children from Cebu. The Denver PK Conference still needs prayer... Question two: Do you regularly watch sports on television? Question three: Do you have immediate family members who regularly watch or are actively involved in sporting events? Answering yes to any one of these questions provides the premise for an Aug. 7-11 workshop on sports missions at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Seventeen students were taught how to conduct sports clinics and participate in fan-based and church-based ministries in preparation for their upcoming mission trip to Sydney, Australia, for the 2000 Olympics. With an expected 2 million people coming to Sydney, many of whom are from unreached people groups, sports missions provides an ideal opportunity for seminary students to provide the gospel message for visitors to take home with them. Prayer is also a key focus of this type of mission trip, said Endel Lee, NOBTS assistant professor "The students have already started keeping their prayer journals. Those who join us in this season of prayer for ministry during the Olympics will provide one of the most important resources for our venture," he added. To that end, the NOBTS Australian mission team has developed activities to increase the prayer emphasis, including setting up a table display during registration, requesting prayer partnerships, and organizing a Campus Olympics to be held Sept. 7. The Sydney mission team and seminary faculty members will compete in a variety of sports events, including swimming, softball, tennis, track and field, volleyball, table tennis and basketball. Faculty, students, staff and families will be encouraged to participate by attending the events and cheering on the two teams. Those who attend the events will be given tickets, which are to function as prayer reminders for the NOBTS family as we support the team before they leave and during specific intervals while in Australia. Prayer coordinator Beth Courtney said, "I feel that the mission team will not be successful in Sydney without people here in the United States providing this vital prayer support." In my opinion, this is the kind of "unity" we must both fear and shun. But also, please, pray that God will give the Body of Christ confidence to express and enjoy the scriptural unity we have already been given by the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:3). Evangelical Christians have been barred from a global meeting of religious leaders that one prayer researcher warns is part of a plot to push for the formation of a one-world government through the United Nations. More than 1,000 delegates representing world and indigenous faiths are to gather at the U.N.'s New York headquarters next week for the Millennium World Peace Summit of Religious and Spiritual Leaders. But the exclusion of both the Dalai Lama and evangelical Christians has been criticized by the Family Research Council (FRC), whose vice president for foreign policy, Robert Maginnis, said that the meeting would be like a wolf in sheep's clothing, cloaking "anti-life, anti-family politics in the robes of religion." He said that the Dalai LamaCNobel Peace Prize winner and spiritual leader of Tibetan BuddhistsChad not been invited to participate because of pressure from the Chinese government, which controls Tibet. The "hypocrisy" of the decision was outrageous, he said. "Beijing's stranglehold on the U.N. is once again polarizing the cause of religious freedom around the world." Neither the National Association of Evangelicals nor the Southern Baptist Convention, the largest Protestant denomination, has been welcomed to attend the Aug. 28-31 summit. However representatives of Hinduism, Sikhism, Shintoism, Judaism, Taoism, Islam, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism, Confucianism and native religions will all be there. One of the groups involved in organizing the event is the United Religions Initiative (URI), which has been condemned by the Vatican for its radical politics and efforts to create a new world religion. Helene Bos, a researcher for the Dutch-based prayer network, Serving the Nations, said that the group supports gay marriages, artificial conception and abortion, and is hostile toward orthodox Christianity. She said that the summit was the first of five U.N-related events taking place over the next few weeks that would further discussions of a world religion and government and were "the result of a clear and clever strategy designed by influential people in and around the U.N." In a prayer appeal being circulated by intercession networks, she said that hidden U.N. agendas--concealed by a special language in which words like "sustainability," "governance," "civil society" and "reproductive rights" had "received a special, defined meaning"--had become more visible over the last 25 years. With the URI involvement, the peace summit will see "a body that has a lot of power, with global aspirations, making an alliance with a religious body, with global aspirations, that is outspokenly hostile toward orthodox Christianity. This has end-time characteristics, even when we do not know exactly where we are time wise on God's time-line. Whether we agree that they have end-time characteristics or not, we can agree that they look grim." Following the peace summit is a U.N.-sponsored gathering of national parliaments, the U.N.'s own millennium summit, the State of the World Forum, and the U.N.'s millennium assembly. Among the proposals to be considered at this last meeting is an environmental charter described as "a New Ten Commandments," Bos said. Next week's peace summit is being largely funded by media mogul Ted Turner, well-known for his support for abortion rights and hostility to evangelical Christians. FRC's Maginnis said that the summit's promised goals "may be peace' and tolerance,' but the unspoken agenda is one of leftist policies and Chinese appeasement." >Free subscription & archives: http://www.charismanews.com _________________________________________>>> *WINNEPEG, CANADA: MANY NATIONS, ONE VOICE >From: RArcher821@aol.com Many Nations One Voice Celebration Date: November 16-18, 2000 City: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Location: Place of Peace Family Church 1296 Main Street Winnipeg MB R2W 3T5 Confirmed Speakers & Workshop Presenters: Mary Glazier, Haida - Windwalkers International, Anchorage, AK Dr. Raleigh Washington, Executive VP Global Ministries for PK Terry LeBlanc, Mi'kmaq/Acadian, Aboriginal Programs, World Vision Chuck Pierce, World Prayer Center, Colorado Springs, CO Richard Twiss, Rosebud Lakota/Sioux, President, Wiconi International, Don Richardson, Missiologist, Peace Child, Eternity In Their Hearts Adrian Jacobs, Cayuga, Wesleyan Native American Ministries, Bart Pierce, Senior Pastor, Rock Church, Baltimore, MD Brian Warren, Promise Keepers, Oakville, ON, Canada Ray Aldred, Cree, First Nations Alliance Churches (CM&A) Wally MaKay, Cree, Winnipeg, MB, Canada Pastor Joe Jolly, Cree, Native Gospel Ministries of Canada Rita Bear-Gray, Cree, International Reconciliation Coalition, Auburn, WA Fern Noble, Cree, International Reconciliation Coalition, Oxnard, CA Suuqiina, Inuit, President, Inuit Ministries International, Homer, AK Deswood Tome, Navajo, Assistant to Raleigh Washington, PK, Denver Worship Team: Jonathon Maracle, Mohawk, Founder, Broken Walls, ON, Canada, Pastor David Ruis, Winnipeg, MB, Canada, Silent Warrior Drama Group, Thunder Bay, ON, Canada For a complete schedule of the Celebration go www.wiconi.com and click on the "many Nations' button and click on Winnipeg. Also Gerico 2000 has become the Italian Prayer Center and the Italian Spiritual Warfare Network. At the present time we are in the process of discerning who to have "on board" for potential new leaders in helping us to operate the network on a city wide and regional scale. We believe that we may soon see many fruits from all this and eventually see a true revival taking place in this spiritually dry land of Italy. In the last few months, the Lord has revealed us (using also intercessors who have come to visit us) many things concerning the spiritual climate over Italy. We really believe that Italy has a strategic importance for the end times, simply because "the roots" of her past.
