A demon possessed
woman ate and walked on all fours like a cow.
An evangelist said he would fast and pray, come back and cast the evil
spirit out. On the third day, he came
and said to her, “In the name of Jesus, out!”
The woman stood up. The whole
village was astonished and many responded to Christ. Now they have a house church. Pray for several house churches
like this. (AIM of EFI)

CHURCH PLANTING AT WEDDING
>From: friday_fax@attglobal.net
Four new
International Christian Fellowship churches have started in Switzerland, with a
total of 10 planned by the end of the year 2000. The church plants are not
always planned: Matthias Boelsterli held the wedding for a young couple from
Basle, at which “the Holy Spirit moved so powerfully that some 30 guests
decided to follow Jesus.” The result was new workshops in Basle for the new
believers. The ICF churches are organised as a network, not subordinate to the
mother church. Source: ICF, Hoenggerstr. 117, 8037 Zurich, tel. (+41)-1-272 49

*GROWING
UNITY IN THE NETHERLANDS
>From:
Marc van der Woude <mvdwoude@xs4all.nl>
There’s a
growing unity among Christans and churches in the Netherlands. In November an impressive national
repentance service was held in the main church in Utrecht, where
representatives from different denominations confessed the corporate sins of
the church and the nation. In January nearly 1,000 evangelical pastors and
leaders gathered to listen to Argentinean pastor Carlos Mraida. The theme was ‘unity
among pastors as a key to revival’. As a result many leaders reconciled with
each other and pastors prayer groups started in several key cities in the
Netherlands. The prayer movement is growing steadily and a youth prayer
movement will be launched this year. This month several secular media paid
attention to the development of so called ‘company prayer groups’. Another
national leaders conference focused on the growing gap between the church and
society. Secular politicians and
journalists were invited to share their view on the church, confirming that the
church lost its spiritual impact on the nation. The coming months many churches and parachurch organisations will
participate in a 40 day fast, followed by ‘Project 2000’, a national evangelism
campaign. Churches in Amsterdam who cooperate in prayer evangelism, report a
new openness for the gospel. Prayer station teams easily lead up to 30 people
to Christ on one afternoon or evening. Source:

THE INTERNET POPULATION IN 2005
>From:
IFC List Owner <ifc-owner@lists.gospelcom.net>
The
Industry Standard reports that the Internet is becoming increasingly
international,
with only 43 percent of surfers currently residing in North
America. The report predicts that in 2005, this
number will decrease to 30
percent. At that time, Europeans will account for a
third of the online
population,
with residents of the Asia-Pacific region making up a fourth
of online
users. “The Net World in Numbers”:

“A
Backward Step” - It has come to my attention that the manager of the Bible
Society in Brisbane, Queensland, is a Hindu.
He was appointed to this position because of his computer expertise and
because there can no longer be prejudice show in selecting for a “Job Position”. I thought that the Bible Society was a
Christian Body. What are your
sentiments? It is a MUST that this
matter becomes urgent prayer. (Roger

let’s pray that this is God’s surprise-strategy; that this man will become a

*SOUTH
AFRICA: FLOODING
>From: “D.Ray
Davis” <drdavis@samara.co.zw>
Undoubtedly,
you have heard of the flooding in Southern Africa and hopefully you have been
prompted to pray for those suffering.
In response to the overwhelming needs, a partnership has been developed
between local Samaria Mission, the Baptist Union South Africa, Texas Baptist
Men, North Carolina Baptists, and the International Mission Board. Those team members from the United States
arrived on the scene on February 29, 2000 and the project is to be underway
March 2-13, 2000.
We ask
you to pray that this partnership team would be able to minister effectively in
difficult circumstances. Travel is
dangerous and in some places impossible.
Pray for such practical issues as the customs clearance of the feeding
kitchens and the water purification units.
Pray for protection against diseases prevalent such as malaria and
cholera. The needs are much greater
than this small coalition can meet; yet, they are being faithful to minister
how they can. Pray that the Lord would
guide them in the direction He desires.
Pray that they can impact the need in some way. Pray that they would represent the name of
Jesus well. Pray that those suffering
would see the love of Jesus and the hope that He offers from the eternal
suffering!
I apologize
for the length of this request. I
usually try to keep them very brief.
However, I have to add that it seems as if God is drawing the attention
of the world to Africa. He has already
prepared those working here for that opportunity. Please check out the following website to see how you can be
involved in the prayer emphasis, “2001 Pray!”
Go to the website http://www.2001pray.org/
and learn more.
Thank
you for allowing the Lord to turn your attention to Africa!

*ARGENTINA:
UNITY FOR REVIVAL
>From: The2ndCall@aol.com
God is
separating “waters”. He is calling the church to a closer walk with Him;
intimacy with the Holy Spirit and necessary to this: Holiness. I think that all revivals in these last
years are just samples of what comes next. God showed us what He wants to do
and is showing us how it will be done:
letting Him do it! It is His revival
after all.
One
important issue about revival is that there has to be unity but not the kind of
unity that develops around a common project. We can come up with many
city-wide, nation-wide, inter-denominational project that is not necessarily unity. It is unity around the “person” not
the project, it is unity around the Holy Spirit. We have had way too many
common projects.
How will
it happen? We should seek the face of God for His sake and not for the sake of
revival! When we we seek His presence He produces the kind of unity that
prepares the ground for and outpouring of the Holy Spirit. The 120 in the upper room were expecting something
from God but they did not have the slightest idea of what they were expecting!
They were probably as surprised as the rest when it happened! They were not
doing anything and they did not have any plan other than wait upon the Lord! All together in one
place in one accord . . . seeking God’s face!
Now, to do this we cannot cling to our
private feuds anymore. He is in control or we are in control not both.
There
seem to be two groups of people growing
in these days. One:
people
that are getting intimate with God, people that are seeking God’s face no
matter what, hungering for His presence, it might have began with a sincere cry
for revival in the Land but now they are just seeking God’s face and letting
Him bring revival in His appointed time! These are the people that God is knitting
together into a spiritual unity that ultimately will use to usher revival.
People that will receive God’s blessing
and be vessels of His blessings precisely because hey did not seek the
blessings but the face of the Blesser!
The
other group is composed by people who are not willing to take a public stand
for God neither to abandon themselves to the presence of God. God is crying out “Choose today whom will
you serve” To make such a choice might mean to stand out of our
group, out of our structure, and out of our plans. Means to leave the privacy
of our own “feuds” for the sake of God’s kingdom. When the Apostles were filled
with the Holy Spirit they were not in their houses, or in their “churches” or
in their plans or activities.
We have
made such an issue of our privacy so that we do not allow anybody to tell us
what to do, not even God. We so much
cling to our privacy that it has become isolation. And many ministers are
applying this principle to their churches. We have some churches so “shelled in”
that not even the Holy Spirit can penetrate them! They want revival, they want God to bless them but they try to
manipulate God! No unity is possible
then. I am not speaking against privacy
but against isolation because that is exactly what the Devil wants: to keep us separate so we don’t see God’s
plans!
Jesus said
to Levi “Follow me” and He kept
walking. Matthew had to
make a
quick decision: either he followed Jesus immediately or
he would
miss the opportunity. We have the
opportunity of being part
of the
last harvest or look from the outside. There will be no “Second Call”
because
this is already the second call!
In
history of all revivals they were ushered by people that had nothing to lose.
In human sight they were the people “not wanted” or the people that had no
talent, or people that even being gifted people they lost it all in Jesus. All
means all: desires, churches,
ministries, all belong to Jesus.
There is
not and there cannot be such a thing as “we have a church, and
organizational
structure, we have a way of doing things that has proven
effective...we
just need more power from God”
There is
not either “we deserve it” for whatever reason. Revivals come at the sovereign
will of God. Read the Bible, read
history of revivals, whenever people gathered to just seek the face of God the
result was revival!
In some
sense we have people and even whole churches that have a “hardened” heart like
Pharaoh because they have made a decision to follow after their own plans. God
is letting it happened like He did with Pharaoh because His goal was then and
still is TO SHOW HIS GLORY. He simply cannot show His Glory through our fleshly
human constructions. Revival comes to
show His Glory not to give glory to a
church or ministry. Moses, the man that
spoke to God face to face was not allowed to enter the promised land because he
let, just for a moment of anger when he hit the rock, his flesh interfere with
God.
Can
anybody explain why so many churches are literally dying - in all
denominations- and other churches are experiencing amazing growth under the power of the Holy Spirit? God is
letting the hearts of those who chose their own way to be hardened so they will
not interfere with God’s plans.
There is
a process of unity going on. God is doing it, but in His own way. He is really
serious about His plans. He will fulfill His plans with us or without us. This
process of unity though not seen in full stage yet can be hinted when we take a
look around and see -one here, one there- people that are hungering for Gods
presence, people that are getting so desperate for God’s presence that they are
ready to cry out “God I want your presence even if it kills me!”
Hope
this insight blessed you. In the next (and last) post of this series I will
share about the principle of Authority that is also needed if we want revival.
Be blessed,
Pr. J. Conrad Lampan
