>From: WndNFire@aol.com
“Lord, we pray that the year 2000 brings many bountiful
blessings on our
family, friends and nations and online friends. We also pray that their
relationship with You will grow ever closer as each day goes
by. We pray
that
spouses will become best friends, that parents and children
will love and
respect each other.
We pray that troubles will be corrected, broken hearts
mended, and torn relationships fused back together. We ask
that You would
show yourself in mighty ways to those that feel far away
from You, but don’t
realize that You hold them in Your arms. Please comfort those who are
mourning and dance with those who rejoice! Please pour Your wisdom into
those that hunger after You. Please bless our families with happiness,
love,
joy, and peace. We
love you, Lord, and thank You deeply from our hearts for
the past 2000 years that You have allowed us to come to
You through your Son, Jesus, who died for our sins so long ago so we wouldn’t
have to. Amen.”

*CAN I TAKE 5 OUT OF 6...?
--->NPPNote: My good friend Pastor Lou Diaz emailed me
his blessing. One word in particular made me stop and think...
“Have a blessed and meaningful Christmas knowing that what
you are doing is going a long way in preparing us for upcoming revival,
spiritual awakening, persecution, the fulfillment of the Great Commission, and
the return of Christ!”

*WORLDWIDE PRAYER WAVE
From: CEAIEDUCA@aol.com
Wherever you happen to be as the new millennium arrives,
we invite you to join in a World-Wide effort to begin this historic period of history
linked in prayer with millions of others around the world. We know you believe
that prayer works, that it can make a difference in how the new millennium
begins and unfolds, and that it can help to energize those who have the
solutions to many world problems.
The Vision: A minute before midnight wherever you are, as everyone
around you focuses on the countdown to the new millennium, intentionally join
together with everyone else who is committed to holding this sacred moment.
Thus united in intent, each person can spend as long as
they want praying in their own way for a common vision of peace, freedom, and the
spiritual uplifting of the human race.
Imagine if we get hundreds of thousands, or millions of
people joining together in this effort.
We must inform as many people as possible. If everyone
will duplicate this flyer and e-mail or fax it to just ten people or more, we can
literally reach millions by January 1, 2000.
This was sent to us by a Christian Educators Association Member and we
want to share it with the Prayer Network.
May you have a prosperous and blessed new year.
Forrest Turpen, Executive Director, CEAI representing 7200
Christian teachers serving in public and private schools since 1953.

*U.K. - DECLINE DUE TO DEPARTING
From: “Martin
Swan” <martin.swan@talk21.com>
Greetings to all my Brothers and Sisters in the U.S.A.
Much has been written in the U.K recently in the Christian
and secular media about the decline in church attendance.
I have listened with sadness to the many debates. In this country many different reasons are
given for the decline. Some church
fellowships are trying to respond. So
they put together projects and events to attract people. All of which it would seem by the figures
are failing.
I would like to suggest as a matter of prayer please my
own reason for this decline.
I believe the reason for the decline of the church in this
country (and perhaps the U.S.A) is because the Glory of the Lord and His
Presence with us has departed from the church.
The priority of God’s Presence has for the most part been
lost in the modern church. When we meet
for worship we have low expectations of God actually being present with
us. The church has lost for the most
part the truth that we worship a Supernatural God who longs for us to know
Him. Many it has to be said know ‘about’
Him, but very few it would seem actually testify to ‘knowing’ Him and the love
He offers to all in a personal way.
We cannot share what we do not have. So what then do we offer to a hurting needy
society?. We offer them coffee
mornings, stale lifeless preaching, worship that is dry and religious
paraphernalia that has very little to
do with the Christian Gospel.
God’s Presence has departed from many church fellowships
in this country. And we must remember
when the Presence of God has departed the congregation soon scatters!
I know the theologians will say that God is Omnipresent and
of course I realise that He is.
However, this Omnipresent God also demands that we ‘seek His Face’ and
we are called by Jesus to ‘abide’ in Him.
It is no accident, I believe that the church is growing in countries and
places across this world outside of the organised established religious circles. And the people that are finding their
Saviour are those that cry out for His Presence. How I long for this in my own Methodist tradition.
As we approach the new Millennium, we would do well to
recall the Revivals and the move of God that swept my Country and many others
in the past century. When men and women
in the Scottish Isles and the Welsh valleys (I am sure you know of others)
could not walk past a church without falling on their knees in repentance. The Manifest Presence of God was
overwhelming. The bars emptied as
people recognised their sin in the Manifest Presence of the Risen Christ. We in much of the church across this world
no longer expect this to happen. So we
no longer seek the Presence of God.
When Jesus came to town He was welcomed only by the
outcasts from the Temple and the children.
The religious people were inside the Temple praying for the Messiah to
come and they missed Him. They missed
the hour of their visitation. I pray to
God that we do not miss ours.
Is their hope for the church?. With our God there is always hope. But where do we start?
Well, I would suggest that we start on our knees, and repent for what we
have done to the beautiful Bride of Christ which is the Church. And this repentance is not a State thing, or
a National thing it must be a World-wide act of repentance. And this must start with our leaders. I would suggest a day set aside for this, a
world day of prayer and repentance, where we together as a church turn back to
God and as He commands seek His Face and His Will. It is our privilege and our duty to offer nothing less to God for
the society in which we live.
And let us remember too that when the Spirit of God starts
to Manifest His Presence, the religious people are either changed or the move
out.
Our Father has laid this message upon my heart and I
believe He has challenged me to share this as widely as possible. May it be received with the same love in
which it is offered.
May God Bless you all as we seek Him,
Pastor Martin Swan, Trinity Methodist Church

SINGAPORE: Announcing AntiochWatch 2000
>From: visioncity@pacific.net.sg
(Lai Kheng Pousson)
AntiochWatch is NOT a new thing. Neither is it a sudden
brainwave out of nowhere nor a clever idea of some nut crazed about mission. It’s
been a longstanding prayer interest and burden of quite a few serious-minded watchmen
in Singapore who have been asking, seeking and knocking at heaven’s door for
its birthing.
AntiochWatch is not an event. It is an encounter. It is
about building an Antioch Environment of worship intercession pictured for us
in Acts 13. Such an Antioch Environment
will create an Antioch Effect of fresh new mission impetus in Singapore and
Asia. The result will be Antioch Acceleration!
AntiochWatch will meet every Friday from 8 pm to 8 am in
three waves of Worship-Intercession: Wave 1 from 8 pm to 12 midnight. Wave 2
from 12 midnight to 4 am. Wave 3 from 4 am to 8 am.
You may be wondering: “Do I have to stay through all three
waves?” The answer is NO. Of course, we desire a core group that will pray
through from beginning to end. But every participant is free to come and
contribute according to his/her availability. Some may come for the first 4
hours. That’s fine. Others, may join
later from 12 midnight on, after cell meeting.
WHERE? LoveSingapore Centre at 250 Tanjong Pagar Road, St Andrew’s Centre, 10th
floor [near Amara Hotel].
WHO? AntiochWatch provides an excellent opportunity for 4
specific groups of people to pray the Father’s heart concerning His end-time
moves in the nations:
Every 1st Friday: The Judahs.
Intercessors and all who love Israel will come together to
stand in the gap on behalf of Jewish peoples around the world.
Every 2nd Friday: The Josephs.
Professionals and people in the marketplace - both men and
women - should make this watch a priority. No longer will it be sufficient for
busy business entrepreneurs to relegate and delegate all of the praying to the corp
of gifted intercessors the Lord has raised up for them over the years. They must now themselves take up the mantle
of intercession. It’s time to expose and abort the schemes of the enemy at our
nation’s financial gate. It’s time to
birth the business-in-mission blueprints of God. It’s time to plunder Egypt and
redistribute the wealth of the nations to serve God’s Kingdom agenda. In
prayer, these will arise with a new Joseph-anointing. They will be sharp interpreters of the times, and know what to do
with every window of business opportunity the Lord throws open for Singapore in
the nations.
Teens and twenty-somethings of Singapore will worship,
watch and war together for their generation to fulfill Singapore’s Antioch
call. Their “Moses” or spiritual mentors - parents, pastors, mission leaders -
and all who care about this vulnerable generation are welcome to participate.
The Joshuas will also pray for their counterparts in every Asian nation.
Mission mobilizers and mission-minded believers from all
walks of life, representing all age categories will stand in the gap for Asia
and other TEN-40 Window nations, gateway cities and peoples. The book of Joel
is about revival and the promise of Pentecost in Joel 2:28-32 will be our cry!
History records that “on the first day of the 20th
Century - January First
1901 - a young woman named Agnes Ozman was baptised in the
Holy Spirit at a
small Bible school in Topeka, Kansas. . . Ozman received a
glorious
manifestation of the gift of tongues and became, in effect,
the first
Pentecostal of the 20th Century. . . she began
speaking in the Chinese
language and was unable to speak in English for three days.”
- Ministries
Today, Nov-Dec 1999
Did you catch it? The first Pentecostal of the 20th
century spoke unceasingly in the Chinese tongue for three days. What is the
Spirit saying to the Church?
Some believe that God has been preparing the 60-80 million
Chinese believers to serve as His end-time harvesters. They are like polished arrows
hidden in His quiver. In the fullness of time, there will be an unveiling. Like
the terracotta army of Qin China, this mighty underground army will be “unearthed”
and unleashed to help complete the task of world evangelization. Used to
hardship and familiar with suffering, prevailing in prayer and preserved from
denominational structures and strife, they are ONE army in battle formation,
ready for the harvest. Singapore is an Antioch-catalyst prepared by the Lord
for the Chinese Church. Do you believe? Are you willing? Are you ready to pray this into reality?
The prophet Haggai tells us that the glory of the latter
house shall be greater than that of the former house! As we pray and seek His
face with all our hearts in AntiochWatch, the 21st Century will be a
Penetcostal millennium. Pentecost is about empowering the saints to be
effective witnesses to the ends of the earth. It will be the dawning of a new
era of world mission. There will be such an outpouring of the Spirit that we
will live to see the reapers overtaking the sowers!

*NEW ENGLAND CONCERTS OF PRAYER:
>From: NECPrayer@cs.com
Merry Christmas ands Greetings from Jeff Marks-Director of
New England Concerts of Prayer. This is
a short report from the New England Prayer Journey.
with Britain. We
went with a 25-member team of pastors and prayer leaders
from New England, Montana and Virginia. We prayed with our British
counterparts for a reopening of the wells of revival for
Wales, Scotland and
England and the reestablishing and strengthening of the
revival links for both nations. As you know, Britain like New England is filled
with revival; places where revival has occurred one or more times in the
past. For example, Swansea area of
Wales was the place where the Welsh revival began and Rev. Reece Howell’s
ministry was based.
As we prayed we saw signs in the Heavens and the spirit
fell on different people in powerful ways.
When the team that went to Plymouth prayed at the steps where the
Pilgrims embarked a beautiful double rainbow appeared in a blue sky. That day 7 rainbows appeared in the
sky. I believe these rainbows signified
the covenants of God that flow between the nations.
The journey to England began with prayer at a beautiful
estate in
Ashburnham,
with Brian and Sue Betts.
We were instructed in the history of England to
prepare us for the prayer journey. The Lord led us to thank the English for
bringing the gospel to our shores and to then wash their
feet. We saw
England as the parent nation in the gospel. We then took communion together
as acknowledgment of our covenant with Jesus and one
another. We symbolically passed through
the East Gate of America and Plymouth
to Jamestown with the keys to America.
The team then split into two teams. One part journeying to the wells of revival
and the other part to the points of America heritage.
The “wells” were found which related to the Great Awakening,
the Second
Awakening, the Pentecostal revival and the Welsh
revival. We prayed that
those wells be repaired.
We found ourselves praying for a prophecy to be
fulfilled in Wales, which had been given by an Indian
Evangelist in January
of 1999. He said
that the devil had put a seal over the revival in Wales in
the beginning of the century.
That revival spread to all towns in New England where 100%
converted, and then to the nations.
The evangelist saw a well with 5 keys. It was too deep for any one person to go
down. But, he saw a chain of people
linking arms going down and an insignificant man got the key. It was the key of brokenness. The spirit fell in on man in our group. He was a very hard man in his life yet he
was overcome with weeping in front of the chapel at Pisgah and fell into a bush
sobbing. We felt that it was a sign of
brokenness and we should reach for the key with our Welsh brothers.
We washed their feet and prayed for the key to be released
to Wales. The
other two keys were prayer, preaching the word and
evangelism. The last key
was not yet visible in our prophecy.
Holy Island we were baptized by a rainbow, which came and
fell on our vehicle. Normally rainbows
recede from you; this on came to us.
The experience seemed to relate to the work of the Irish missionary
monks who Evangelized England and Europe.
We acted in faith as the spirit guided us to these places
with our British brothers and sisters and saw the Lord do amazing things.
the stirrings of revival are being felt even in nations
like France, which has been dormant for centuries.

*UGANDA: A LAND REPENTS
>From: friday_fax@ibm.net
The central African nation Uganda was once known as ‘the
home of witchcraft’, according to Ugandan pastor John Mulinde during a European
tour. An aggressive fight against Christianity began as soon as the first missionaries
arrived in 1875, and many Christians died as martyrs. The ‘East African Revival’
which swept many countries did not take place until 1935. Years of catastrophe began In the 1960’s,
with the rise of Communist governments; in 1975, Idi Amin took over and
declared the country Islamic, despite the fact that only 3% of the population
were Muslims. The country became infamous around the world for its suffering
and the evil perpetrated there. During that time, Christians were persecuted,
and many fled into the forests to cry out to God for help. A new move of God
began in 1980, following Idi Amin’s deposal. Under Obote, though, things were
even worse. 10,000 Christians met in
secret, and 80% promised to pray day and night until God gave a breakthrough.
Obote was deposed in 1986 - but then came AIDS. Uganda had the highest rate of
infection in the world, and the WHO predicted that a third of the population
would die by 1997, with another third too weak to walk.

*CHINA: PRAY FOR 198 NEW CHURCHES
>From: friday_fax@ibm.net
Tong (name and address withheld) is a friendly Chinese
farmer, with a wife and two children. Following the birth of their second
child, Tong’s wife began to behave strangely, breaking things and attacking
people as though she were possessed by demons. Tong was powerless against the
attacks, which became so serious that he could not leave her alone with the
children. Tong’s sister-in-law took her
to a secret house church meeting, where Tong’s wife decided to follow Jesus.
From that moment, the attacks ceased. A while later, she was given a Bible, and
asked Tong to read it to her, because she could not read. Tong was so touched
by John 3 that he also decided to follow Jesus. Less than a year later, he
started traveling around to preach the gospel. He has planted 198 house
churches so far, with a total of several thousand members.

*CANADA: PLANTING 10,000 NEW CHURCHES >From: “Crosswalk.com”
<editor@crosswalk.com> A Canadian
denomination is planting 15 churches every three months. Victory Church
International, the country’s fastest growing denomination, has more than 400
congregations internationally, and is planting new ones in 18 foreign
countries, Faith Today magazine said. Founder George Hill reported on the
denomination’s growth last month at a meeting of church planters in Mississauga,
Ont.
A variety of Canadian denominations have set a goal of
planting 10,000 churches in Canada by 2015. They are part of Discipling A Whole
Nation, or DAWN, a movement that encourages churches to develop national
cooperative strategies to preach the Gospel.

*ROMANIA: PRAYING FOR INTERCESSORS
From: “Cristian
Voaides” <proimpact@netsoft.ro>
Hello from Romania,
My name is Cristian Voaides and I live in Targu Mures,
Romania. I am the director The Bethany Ministry that has as its mission to
evangelize, disciple and send out the youth of Romania to fulfill Gods purposes
for their lives. We are also called to train and equip leaders in an interdenominational
setting. We have a camp in the mountains with a present capacity of 100 people
where we organize camps and other activities.
The main reason for my letter.
We know that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but
against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of
this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places” Eph 6:12. The main reason
I am writing this letter is that I am praying to find a group of intercessors
for our ministry who will intercede for our leaders, campers, ministry teams
and many other aspects of our ministry. So if you think that God might call you
to do this or if you know other people that could be interested please let me
know.
Short mission trip opportunity.
In the past for almost all the camps that we have
organized we had a western team of 5 -10 people that has participated with us
in the mission that God has given us. So if you are interested in coming in a
short mission trip to Romania or you know a youth pastor or a director of
missions that might be I would appreciate very much your help in this.
I am hoping to have a web page ready by the end of January
where I will have a lot more information about our ministry and about the
opportunities of partnership in the ministry that God is calling us. If you are
not interested to receive information from us in the future please send me a message
and I will remove your address from the list. Thank you for taking the time to
read and to pray about being involved with us in Gods work in Romania.

*CHILE: 20,000 NEW CHURCHES BY 2009
From: friday_fax@ibm.net
Chile: new national target of 20,000 new churches by 2009 Around
300 people from all 11 provinces attended a Dawn Congress in Santiago de Chile
in November 1999. The delegates agreed to work together to plant 20,000 new
churches by the year 2009, and to send 1,000 church planters as missionaries particularly
to the nations in the 10/40 Window, also by 2009. The nation currently has
between 17,000 and 20,000 churches. 2009 is a particularly significant year for
Chile, because it marks the 100th anniversary of the nation’s
Protestants. “This is the first time that Chilean Christians have deliberately
started a long-term national cooperative project,” says Berna Salcedo, Dawn
Coordinator for South America. One of the attendees came from Pascua, an island
3,000 miles out into the Pacific, where the first person in recent times became
a Christian in 1998. Pascua is where Easter Island’s famous stone idols were
made.

*SAN CRISTOBAL, VENEZUELA: UNITY
>From: twchurch@flash.net
(The Woodfield Church)
As a new millennium dawns, it is good to remember that
nearly two billion people have never heard the Gospel! From the mountains of
Bolivia to the trash dumps of Mexico to remote villages in Peru to unreached
peoples in India, GO InterNational works closely with national leaders to
develop a strategy of evangelism that is effective and culturally sensitive. In
the past, tools such as VBS with children, showing the Jesus film, sewing classes
for women, Bible and tract distribution, and evening evangelism campaigns have
been effective in reaching people for Christ.
Dr. Ed Silvoso, who has written the book That None Should
Perish and has actively pursued a strategy for reaching cities for Christ,
states that there are three barriers prohibiting the spread of the Gospel:
disunity among churches, apathy, and ignorance. GO InterNational recently
worked with Eda Gomez, our national pastor in Venezuela, to overcome these
three barriers to reach the city of San Cristobal for Christ.
In an effort to overcome disunity among the churches, all
the Protestant pastors and certain national leaders from San Cristobal were invited
to our second annual pastors’ conference in that city. To strengthen the bond
of unity, we asked the pastors to bring their wives. We wanted to encourage
them in their walk with the Lord and o underscore the message that there is
strength in serving together in ministry.
Four days were spent developing a new strategy of
evangelism that will revolutionize our outreach to this city of 600,000 people
for years to come. Focusing on the theme Reaching Your City for Christ, these
52 pastors and national leaders discussed the impact of working together in
unity for the purpose of reaching their city.
All pastors were given Bible study materials on every book
in the New Testament and Discipleship studies for further use in their
ministry. Providing the pastors with
similar Bible study materials was another way our ministry team helped
strengthen the bond of unity.
On the first day, Rev. Dallas Elder spoke to the pastors
about the problems of thinking small and having little vision. Pastor Edda
Gomez also challenged the pastors to consider the plight of their children who
are going through difficult times. The altar was full as pastors confessed
their need for a larger vision and to be better fathers and mothers to their
own children. Out of their own personal sense of need, pastors began to pray for
one another, further bonding them together in unity.
On the second day, Mr. Eddie Sapp and Rev. Larry Hubley
spoke about the Biblical demands concerning unity and the power unity brings to
evangelism. Our focus then shifted to the evangelism strategy of building perimeters
of prayer around the city and establishing cell groups of prayer in each barrio
of the city. The ultimate aim of this strategy is to identify the unbelievers
and to discover their specific needs. For the next two years, these pastors
agreed to the vision of penetrating the city of San Cristobal with hundreds of
prayer cells focusing their efforts on the unreached of the city.
On the third day, our challenge to the pastors was to
consistently follow up with new converts and disciple them. Rev. Ted Bearn and
Mr. Larry McDowell convincingly testified of the importance of role models and mentoring
as aspects of discipleship today. The need for incorporating new believers into
the life of the church will be a vital role for the church if they are to
succeed in reaching their city for Christ. GO InterNational is committed to
providing resource material that will enable the discipleship process to
continue in the years to come.
Each evening special services were held in local churches
with American pastors preaching. Much fruit came from these meetings as
literally hundreds of people came forward to be prayed for and ministered to.
During one meeting, a man who had attempted suicide three times came off the streets
and found salvation. We discovered, as
is true in all of Latin America, a real spiritual hunger for God. Missiologists
state that today more than 500 people are coming to Christ every hour in South
America!
Through our days together, God not only brought a sense of
unity to the pastors but also began to dispel apathy as a major barrier to
renewal. As the vision of the pastors
was lifted to new heights, so their faith was raised to a new level of
expectancy.
San Cristobal is a major center for witchcraft, and
growing number of people are involved in Satan worship. Police officers have
helped Pastor Edda identify where much of the satanic worship and animal
sacrifices were taking place.
To overcome ignorance, the pastors renewed their
commitment to helping people pray down the spiritual strongholds in the city.
On that last evening, all the pastors and lay people fanned out across San
Cristobal to specifically pray down strongholds of satanic activity. Through
continued fervent prayer and mobilized prayer cells around the city, churches
are rediscovering the joy of working together in unity for the sake of
salvation for thousands of people.
In 2000 GO InterNational is sending three teams to
continue facilitating unity among the churches. Three specific dates for
city-wide concerts and prayer vigils are being planned. The next pastor’s
conference is tentatively scheduled for October 2000.
As you read through your Global Prayer Digest this month, please remember to pray for the
pastors of San Cristobal as they launch a new vision for evangelism into the
next millennium.

*NORTH AFRICA: MUSLIMS RECEIVE JESUS FILM
>From: praycf@juno.com
>From: Global Prayer Digest, December 29, 1999
Muslims come to Spain for temporary summer jobs, and they
return to North Africa with gospel literature. Wherever there is a ferry from
Spain to Africa, Muslims line up in their cars on the dock, waiting for hours
with their families. Some families have to wait for as many as 16 boats before
it is their turn!
While these Muslim families are waiting, teams of
volunteers approach them with gifts. They are offered a video and audiocassette
of the JESUS Film in Arabic, two New Testaments in Arabic, and two booklets
designed for children. These gifts are gladly received by 50 percent or more of
the Muslims.
The JESUS Film Project gives volunteers the opportunity to
reach out to these tens of thousands of Muslims. Week after week, the teams
prepare and deliver the packets. Day and night teams pray on the docks. IF
PRAYER IS SUSPENDED, THE MUSLIMS BECOME
FEARFUL OF ACCEPTING THE PACKETS. BUT WHEN PRAYER RESUMES, THEY ARE
WILLING TO ACCEPT THE PACKETS. Once they are inside their own nation,
thematerials are eagerly given to family and friends. Over 75,000 have written
to say they are interested and/or to order follow-up correspondence courses.
Pray that the spirit of fear will be bound so that these
Muslims will be free to accept these gifts.-RF “He who goes out weeping,
carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him”
Ps. 126:6.
Whatever our ministry in the harvest field, there will be
tears: tears of frustration or of grief. Barriers in cross-cultural
seed-planting are particularly hard to break down. Barriers often include a new
language, age-old traditions, spiritual blindness, and demonic opposition, as
well as illiteracy and poverty. But the blindest eyes can recognize the sower’s
compassion, his helping hands, his thoughtful understanding. God’s Word can shatter
rocks and hardened clods of earth, enabling the seed to take root and begin to grow.
The caring, the helping-and the weeping-often continue for many long years.
First the sowing and the nurture, then the harvest and the joy! Then, the
singing!
Pray faithfully for God’s laborers in hard fields.
