HOUSE OF PRAYER

The San Joaquin Valley In Prayer
Jesus
was the best communicator and visionary to ever walk the earth.
He
communicated with and touched people from all walks of life. He told them about the strong need for
prayer. In fact, He cast the vision
for the first prayer room known in the book of Acts, The Upper Room. Those assembled in The Upper Room, made up
of a very diverse group, took Jesus’ advice to pray as a group for a greater
touch of the Holy Spirit. They wanted
that touch in order to be enabled to spread the news of Jesus to those in their
community. As a result, the church, as
we know it, was launched in the marketplace.
The
disciples, and those in the early church, knew that it takes the whole church
preaching the whole Gospel to reach the whole community. It takes corporate, concerted, intentional
and purposeful prayer by every group of believers to reach every group of
non-believers.
Our
purpose at the Stockton House of Prayer will be to facilitate, provide and
mobilize corporate, concerted, intentional and purposeful prayer focusing on
four categories in our communities: Pastors,
Intercessors, Christian Business Leaders and Lighthouses of Prayer.
Our goal
will be to cover our entire community through these four areas in prayer with
the end result ushering lost, or unsaved, souls into God’s kingdom.
Purpose
For The Stockton House Of Prayer—
·
Promote
unity in the Body of Christ
·
Assist
in connecting intercessors with Pastors, Intercessors, Christian
Business
Leaders and Lighthouses of Prayer in order to establish accountable
prayer
relationships
·
Make sure
every resident has a prayer covering
·
Schedule
and facilitate corporate prayer
·
Provide
a place where prayer can be guided and nurtured
·
Promote
specific agreement in prayer by providing a neutral place to pray
·
Serve
as a resource and information center for prayers to be communicated and
disseminated in all categories
·
Serve
as a resource and information center for prayer materials, training materials
and Lighthouse materials
·
Provide
information for statewide, nationwide and worldwide prayer concerns and
information
·
Make
a statement to The Church of the San Joaquin Valley as to the importance of
prayer
·
Provide
a place for new intercessors to be trained and deployed
·
Act
as hearing aids for Pastors, Intercessors, Christian Business
Leaders
and Lighthouses of Prayer so see
where God is directing
·
Act
as a “control tower” for the prayer needs of those in our community
Intercessor’s
Agreement---
It is my
covenant that I will pray faithfully for my pastor and my church. I
will support my pastor’s ministry and respect his leadership. By the grace of God, and with his support, I
will be an extension of my church to my community and the Stockton House of
prayer.
It is my
covenant to pray for my community until there is unity in the church, until
strongholds have fallen, until walls of division are broken, until
reconciliation occurs, until a canopy of prayer covers our community, until the
lost to hear the Gospel and until God established His purposes.
It is my
covenant to speak positively, bless and build up my pastor, my church and other
spiritual leaders in my community.
Pastor”
Agreement---
It is my
covenant to release this Intercessor to my community under the guidelines and
purposes outlined above.
Covenant
Agreement Purpose---
The book
of Acts reveals to us that Intercessors operated under the leadership of their
Pastor and the Pastoral community.
Pastors would inform the Intercessors as to the prayer concerns and they
would facilitate prayer under their direction, guidance and leadership. The result of this was an evangelized and
transformed city. That is the purpose
for the covenant agreement on the previous page.
Intercessor’s
Commitment---
By the
grace of God, we seek to serve the Pastors, Intercessors, Christian Business
Leaders and Lighthouses of Prayer in our community by daily lifting up
intercession and petitions for:
·
Our
Pastors and their ministry
·
Our
fellow Intercessors and their families
·
Our
Business Leaders and their businesses
·
Our
Lighthouses of Prayer and their neighborhood
·
Unity
in the church
·
Strongholds
to fall
·
Walls
of division to be broken
·
Reconciliation
to occur
·
A
canopy of prayer to cover our community
·
The
lost to hear the Gospel
·
God’s
purposes to be established
By the
grace of God, we seek to serve our community by daily lifting up intercession
and petitions for:
·
Our
Mayors and their leadership
·
Our

pastors of the Santa Clarita Valley area (Southern California) meet every
Wednesday morning. Right now there are between 10-20 that meet regularly and we
have had three Prayer Summits, one each of the past three years. Some of us are
also forming The Santa Clara River Valley Prayer Network (SCRVPN), a nonprofit

the east to Ventura, CA in the west.)
There is a prayer journey (Joshua’s Journey) scheduled for April 5 -21,

*INTERCESSORY
PRAYER NETWORK: FLORIDA
>From: MCB1997@aol.com
For all
too long, pockets of intercessors have been operating in isolation, praying through
what they have heard from the Lord, and wondering where the others are that
might be hearing the same word...answering the same call. Today, we hear the shofar being sounded; the
army is being alerted, and is gathering, and the prayer movement in our city is
undergoing a dramatic change. We are
rising up, responding to Isaiah
60! As walls that divide us come down,
the “Church of Orlando” is coming together. While still praying fervently in
our closets, we are also uniting publicly through “Concerts of Prayer”, the
National Day of Prayer, and March for Jesus.
We are undertaking 40 day corporate fasts, and praying through our
common concerns in a fresh unity of heart, mind and spiritcal part of our
shared vision to reach this city for God.
We are issuing a call to all intercessors / praying people to unite as a
prayer shield for Central Florida. This call is to the youth, as well as to
adults in the Body of Christ; all are invited to participate. We are a “prayer force”, interceding according
to Jeremiah 29:7, praying for our city, for the “Church of Orlando” and for all
those working that the lost might come to know Him. Daily, the Lord is adding to our number!
The IPN
was established in October 1996, and is connected with other state and national
intercessory groups, as well as with the global prayer movement. As a part of “Networking for Jesus”, an
affiliation of Christian Networks here in Central Florida, members of the IPN
will be updated through our web site with vital prayer concerns and strategic
information on a regular basis. Through
the Intercessory Prayer Network, we can connect and be on the same page,
dealing death blows to the enemy camp in unison.

*THE
BIBLICAL MODEL OF UNITY
>From: Biblicalwm@aol.com
Adam
fell in the garden, and his son Cain went out and built the City of Man in
defiance of God (Genesis 4:17).
Similarly, Ham fell in Noah’s vineyard, and Ham’s descendent Nimrod went
out and built two great “cities of Man” in defiance of God: Babylon (Babel) and
Nineveh (Genesis 10:8-12). God
permitted Cain’s sin to permeate the earth, and this brought on the Flood; but
as we have seen, God promised never again to let man’s sin reach such a great
extent (Genesis 8:21). God thus acted
to break up the ungodly civilization of Nimrod after the Flood.
In
Genesis 11 the people were united in language and in belief. They set about to build a city for
themselves, with a tower in the middle that would “reach to heaven”: in other
words, a temple of religious center for their anti-God faith. So far from reaching toward heaven, their
tower was so puny that the text humorously says God had to “come down” even to
see it. God declared that a unified
humanity would have such great power that “nothing they plan to do will be
impossible for them.” Fulfilling His promise
to prevent evil from developing that degree of pre-flood strength, God broke up
their work by confounding their speech.
Finding that they could not understand one another, they had to abort
the tower project.
There
are several important things to learn from this event. First, all attempts to create a one-world
language are doomed to failure, as are attempts to create a one-world humanist
state. Second, God intends for humanity to exist in nations and have many
languages and cultures, each beautifully reflecting the infinity of His image
and glory in unique ways. Third, while
God frustrates the attempts of the wicked to achieve unity, He desires that
Christians act in unity. Jesus prays
for the unity of believers, and when we act as one, nothing that we
legitimately desire will be withheld from us (John 17:22-23). Finally, as a
sign of the unity of God’s kingdom, God transformed the Babelic judgment into a
blessing on Pentecost by enabling people to understand one another’s languages
(Acts 2:5-12).
Although
the confusing of languages at Babel was a judgment of sorts, it is also an
example of God using judgment for His own glory because as a result mankind is
now able to praise God with a thousand tongues. Think today about what it will be like in the kingdom to praise
God with all the tongues of men. Strive
also to praise God now as artfully and gloriously as possible.

*REVIVAL:
WHAT DO YOU EXPECT...?
>From: TMJDSJ@aol.com
I am not
a pastor but a lay person in a small church in Raleigh, NC. A group of us have been gathering on Tuesday
nights to pray for revival in our lives, the church, the city and the
nation. As I look a what we are praying
for I am excited and frightened because I want to be ready to join God when He
gets the fire going here. As I look at revival I am not sure I know what to
expect. I have talked to my pastor who
is a subscriber to the National Pastor Prayer Network but I saw your email
address and thought I would get your input.
Where is the best scripture, book, or place that would lead me in the
direction I want to go. I don’t see
anything in the Bible that states “revival”
It talks about walking in the Spirit, loving God with all my heart,
soul, and strength. I do yearn to reach
that type of love. But how do you get
that across to others. How do you know
when revival is starting? I have so
many questions and I am willing to search for the answers but I would like a
direction to go in to search. I know
there are many promises and directions in God’s word but how do you get across
to people that seem not to understand.
Sincerely,
Diane Jones
--->NPPNote:
Diane...
My
opinion is that what we have labeled revival is actually the result of radical
obedience and desperation praying throughout the Body of Christ in a given
region. Too often we try and duplicate the results without meeting the requirements.
I sense
a frustration in you - GOOD! - as more and more and more of us feel that way
and respond by simply asking the Holy Spirit to enable us to fulfill our
specific assignment... I think that is the best way we can “assist” revival.
I hope
others will respond to your questions.
Keep
praying, walking, serving, hoping, watching, longing...Phil

COLLABORATION IN LOGAN SQUARE, CHICAGO
>From:
Bruce A Ray <baray@juno.com>
A group
of 10 pastors and leaders met recently in the Logan Square community of Chicago
to collaborate around violence prevention and prayer for the community. What is very exciting is that the Church in
Chicago is being sought by the city government and the police force to take the
lead in reducing violence on the streets—and the church is responding with
prayer and action. This small group of
Latino and Anglo pastors (across denominational lines) will be meeting weekly
for prayer and monthly for strategy sessions and planning. Already, God is giving us a spirit of unity and
cooperation and we’re hoping that many more pastors will become involved. A ‘Peace Walk’ is planned for Saturday, June
3, and we have set a goal to form lay crisis intervention teams. Prayer, Care, Share. Jesus can bring peace and hope to the city.

*NATIVE
AMERICAN RESOURCE NETWORK
>From: IRCOAL@aol.com
Revival
in America! That’s what I want to see and I know you do too. People have studied past revivals, read and
written a lot of books about revival and we have seen a measure of revival in
localized areas. Let me share a perspective about revival in America that you
know but many ministry leaders have not considered.
It has
been prophesied several times by prophets in America and from other nations
that revival in America would begin with the Native Americans. Not only revival among the Indian nations
but this entire nation. Rev. Billy Graham said, “The Native American has been
like a sleeping giant. He is awakening. The original Americans could become the
evangelists who will help win America for Christ! Remember these forgotten
people!” Yes, remember the American
Indian not as a historical icon and just a mission field but as a vital part of
the church of America.
In
response to America’s desperate need of a spiritual awakening and the urgency
of the times, the Native American Resource Network is sponsoring a Native
American Leadership Summit on Evangelism, April 17 & 18, Monday and Tuesday
at the World Prayer Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Please mark your calendars now and plan to join native ministers
and other ministry leaders in a time of seeking God and gaining important
information and spiritual insight that will enable us to strategize and
mobilize for revival.

*PASTORS
AS PARTNERS IN CHICAGO
Phil: There certainly is a harvest this year! Praise God!
We are coming to Chicago - July 28-29.
In some of the cities where God is already bringing
pastors/churches/ministries together to work together in unity, we have been
able to partner with them - enhancing the unity, bringing in a harvest. I trust this year pastors and ministries in
the Chicago area will see that it is our desire to work with them in gathering
in a harvest from the Chicago area; that they will come alongside of us,
support us by encouraging their women to attend and bring their God-seeking
friends with them to the conference and then pray with us for the harvest.
>Washington
DC Women of Faith Extravagant Grace 2000!
The “Extravagant
Grace 2000” conference tour has launched Women of Faith into a whole new realm!
It was one thing to burst into the millennium with over 1,000 decisions for
Christ in our first conference of the year.
But, our second conference in Washington DC with 16,000 women took an
even greater leap with 1,905 women saying, “YES!” to starting a journey of walking
with God. Amazing!!
God is
really increasing the harvest in our midst and how we thank Him for that! “Extravagant
Grace 2000”!! A conference where women can experience that fresh touch from the
Lord, be encouraged personally, uplifted in their walk with God and connect
with others! A conference where women
can bring their friends who do not know God in a personal way to hear a
life-changing message of His unending love and amazing forgiveness!
New
records are also being set so far this year through our partnership with World
Vision! 776 children and babies were sponsored
at this conference! A whole generation
has the opportunity to be impacted and changed through these sponsorships. One hand reaching around the globe touching
the hand of another, offering hope - educationally, socially, spiritually,
emotionally, and physically!

*DULUTH,
MN: PPG PROGRESS!
Back in
early Jan I wrote asking for some help in getting a Pastor’s Prayer Network
started in the Duluth, MN area. After
you forwarded my request out through the network I have had several very
encouraging replies. They have come
form MN, IA, TX, CA, NH, IL, AZ, PA and other places that I couldn’t
identify. But the one thing they all
had in common was the encouragement to stick it out.
Well I
would like to bring an update to all those who read the NPPN. At a monthly ministerial meeting we held the
first of March there were more than normal represented. When we went to prayer there was a common
theme that quickly rose to the surface and that was the need for more frequent prayer
gatherings among pastors. So one pastor
set out to bring us together on a weekly basis. We started on March 9th with only two of us present, I
think others joined later after I had to leave. But it is a start. Now comes
the difficult part, stick-to-itiveness.
One of
the driving forces behind this initiative is a planned event scheduled this
fall with Lou and Ralph Sutera Brothers coming to the Duluth area Oct 13th-28th. I solicit the prayers of the network toward
this event. We are hoping it will be
used of God to draw the pastors/churches together not just for this fall but
for the well being of the body of Christ long after the event itself. On the heels of this gathering we are
planning on taking our pastor’s away for a prayer summit of four days of
praying together. This can’t do
anything but bring the body of Christ together in the twin ports area.
Knowing
that the enemy is fearful of this effort, we need prayer.
Thanks
for your part is getting us started in the right direction.
