*RESPONSE: PPG TAKES PERSEVERANCE
>From: lifeunlimited@juno.com
To Pastor Glenn Johnson - Dear Glenn:
I read your note
in the NPPN newsletter with great interest, primarily
because I’ve been in the same position you’re in, and
because I spent 21
years from 1975 to 1996 living and ministering in the
upper Midwest (Iowa
and Wisconsin).
First, let me encourage you by assuring you that it can be
done. So ----
don’t give up.
You first have an issue that is universal ---- many
pastors don’t feel they have time for another meeting, along with their regular
duties.
Then some pastors are not comfortable with things they
cannot “control”. Praying, especially if they didn’t initiate it, is something
they can’t control, so it’s safer to not participate.
Also many pastors don’t have a “city wide” vision that
would lead them to
think praying with other pastors, perceived as competitors
rather than co-laborers, will help advance their own personal agendas.
And, much of it has to do with the personal spiritual
condition of each
pastor ---- and many pastors, frankly, have such a low faith
level of
confidence that anything much will change, that they just
don’t have any
driving desire to pray with other pastors. They may accidentally expose
their own struggles, and it’s hard enough to maintain a
good image before
their peers without getting into vulnerable situations
like praying together.
Then there are other more “regional” issues. Depending on where you
live, the “social” connections vary. The years I spent in your part of
America lead me to believe that some of the strongest “isolationist”
mentality in America can be found there. The three categories you noted
(main stream, evangelical, and charismatic) are generally
suspicious of each other, particularly around doctrine, and are convinced the
others are wrong enough to warrant no serious relationships.
Having said all that, I still encourage you in your
efforts. Pastors can
pray together, and churches of diverse denominations can
work together ---- and communities can be changed.
Cedar Rapids, Iowa is a classic example of where God broke
through, over
a period of time, all those barriers and excuses, and
raised up a group
of praying pastors that ran into the 70’s and 80’s and
reached out as far
as 40 miles from the city. It’s an amazing story.
Fort Worth, Texas had a similar experience a number of
years ago.
My own little town of Reedsburg, WI (near Wisconsin Dells)
is another
example. We began in
1989 with four of us from two denominations, and
watched it grow over time to include sixteen of the 21
pastors from
eleven denominations.
I don’t have time or space to tell you of some of
the results, many of which continue today.
So ---- God will honor your heart’s desire. Anything He puts in your
heart He will fulfill.
Just be sure to not judge your peers, be patient,
love them, serve them and meet them on their own turf, and
---- Go with the Goers. Go ahead and
meet with the small handful you have. Everything
great has started small.
Be blessed, my brother.
Duluth is in God’s heart, and He wants to see it
changed. He wants
the pastors to love each other, trust each other, care
for each other, and pray for each other.
As I pray for you, please pray for my community of
Bolivar, Missouri
where I am currently interim pastor. The spirit of religiosity the
prevails is causing the same thing to happen there that
you have found in
Duluth.

Shoulder”?

*PPGs: THE YEAR FOR BREAKTHROUGH?
>From: Ras Robinson <fullness@flash.net>
Dear Fellow
Pastor and Minister of the Gospel, Happy New Millennium and
God’s Richest Blessings to You in 2000! My own heart is filled with hope
for the future like no other time in my life that I can
recall
I believe in 2000 our Lord is going to give breakthroughs,
one after
another, to show His plan for harvesting the lost – He is
the Lord of the
breakthrough. Yet
there will be skirmishes with the enemy.
But that will
only be confirmation of the direction God has set for
us. I believe He wants us to seek Him
like never before.
One breakthrough in 2000 will be a great movement in
pastors and
ministers praying together for their communities, cities
and our nation. It
will tale a humility that perhaps we have not known. It will take an
admission that sometimes pride has kept us from coming
together with our
brothers and sisters in the ministry.
I believe God spoke to my heart that the only thing He is
going to bless
in 2000 are those things which He is already doing. In my heart, He
confirmed that one thing He is doing is to stir willing
hearts and gather
pastors and ministers together to get on their faces
before Him TOGETHER for
their churches, communities, cities and nation.
Pastors, we desperately need each other. We need to seek the Lord
TOGETHER.
With all the humility God can work in my heart, I ask
you to come
together and seek His face...Bless you, Ras Robinson,
Fullness in Christ
Church,Fort Worth, TX
--->NPPNote; In the next few weeks the NPPN web
site will begin to
collect and list PPG locations across the country (we’ll
post for other
nations as well), I hope some of you will join me in my
prayer for 2,000
PPGs to be identified at www.nppn.org by
year end 2000!

*GREATER TRENTON AREA, NJ: STATE HOUSE OF PRAYER
>From: John K Cairns <capitalag@juno.com>
>From: JKCairns@aol.com
or capital AG@juno.com
Below is a report from Pat Wenzel (N.J. State Director for
the National
Day of Prayer, pat152@usa.net)
concerning our first Prayer and Devotional
meeting at the New Jersey State Capitol on Jan. 6th.
for our State Legislators:
>From Pat: “I
want to share with you that to the best of my knowledge for
the first time a prayer meeting was held in our state
capitol for our
legislators, their staff and state workers. On Jan. 6th about 15
legislators and state workers gathered in annex rm. 101
&103 with eight
wonderful Pastors from the Trenton area. Attendees heard the word of God
and allowed us to lay hands on them and pray for
them. God was honored and
all present were blessed.
God also brought to my attention groups who had
been praying for this for over two years. (The City Church Pastors, and two
saints who work in the state house) When I think of how stirred I have
been in my spirit over these last two years to leave
teaching with bringing
prayer and bible study to the state house as my #1 dream -
now I know why.
And God did this great thing on my birthday. What a gift from the King of
Kings. TO GOD BE
THE GLORY! GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE AND
WILL CONTINUE TO
DO FOR OUR GOOD AND HIS GLORY. Please pray that as the Pastors reach out to
our legislators that the Holy Spirit would reveal truth.
Oh how I long to
see God honored in the chambers of our legislative
bodies. To see them on
their knees in repentance along with all of us in the body
of Christ. That
we might truly humble ourselves before an almighty God
confessing our sin,
seeking His holy face and turning from our wicked ways. Be
encourage saints,
our God is able to do abundantly more than we ask. We hope
to bring this
prayer meeting monthly to the state house. Your prayers undergirding us is
most definitely appreciated.
>My report:
Jack: Pat is
working to secure a room for us for another Prayer time next
month. Rm. 101 is
already secured for the months of March, April and May.
>From among Legislators and their staff came other
invitations to minister to
them.
Rob Lech volunteered to work with Assemblywoman Marion
Crecco to have
the Pastors come and pray in the Assembly Chambers as we
had the Senate Chambers last month.
Senator Louis Bassano is seeking to put together a Prayer
Breakfast for
the Legislators sometime in May. He told me that he already has over a
third of the legislators approving the idea. He also told me that setting
up the date, time, place, and caterers etc. were not a
problem. His problem
was putting together the Prayer Breakfast program
itself. To this end I
gladly offered my help which he readily accepted. I don’t know how much of
the program he will ask us to be responsible for but we
are ready to do it
all if so needed.
I am seeking advice from some involved in the National
Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C.. Depending on our responsibilities we
will definitely be needing the help of many of you.
Sen Bassano may be trying to have this Breakfast on the
morning of the
National Day of Prayer.
(Thursday, May 4th) If so, it will be a full day of
ministry to the Capitol city as there
will be a special evening Prayer Rally in the newly renovated
War Memorial
Building. This evening
rally will be a State wide event and I would
encourage you to make plans now to come and bring your
church family with
you.
love, jack cairns
Please feel free to contact Pat about any of the details
involving how these
events came about if you are interested in reaching out to
your State leaders.

Hi Phil. Thanks for your ministry. It is great being a

It was a foretaste of what we have to look forward to when

I want to thank all those who helped us in prayer
last week for our
first regional Pastor’s Prayer Meeting. THERE WERE 7 PASTORS AND
INTERCESSORS PRESENT! (God likes the number 7) We touched Heaven together
on our knees & on our faces! Did you feel the
mountains tremble? We are
seeking humility, spiritual unity, holiness, purity,
repentance, healing,
power, and revival!
We are meeting in the basement of our County Hospital.
We call it the C.P.R. (Community Prayer Room). Several agreed in prayer
with all seriousness “Give us Revival or give us death.” We prayed for the
Holy Spirit to sweep our county with a spirit of
repentance.
We agreed to meet every week. I will be sending out a mailer this week
to all 65 Churches in our County. Pastor & Intercessors will be invited.
Please continue to pray for this regional move of
God. I will keep you
posted. Many
National Intercessors believe that the Revival coming to
America will begin here in the mid-west. I also am very much convinced of
this hope. Our
current prayer request would be that the Lord of the Harvest
raise up Persevering Leadership for prayer ministry in our
Whitley County.
By the Power of the Lord, I can be the point man, but I
cannot do it all.
We need someone to organize & lead County-wide Prayer
Walks (we hope to pray
for every street & every house) County-wide Concerts of Prayer (we will
host the first one in Feb.) Spiritual Mappers (to help discern the enemy’s
strongholds on our area) Prayer Warriors, Prayer Ministry
Team Leaders for
every church, and a volunteer secretary to help
co-ordinate it all. I believe God
already has all these laborers called out. We just need to identify them.

Pastor Glenn,
I don’t write these very often to those I don’t know, but

e-mail and hopefully encourage you. The Lord said those
who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled.
I hear that hunger in your e-mail. Just hold on. I since
God is about to do
something cataclysmic (a great, sudden violent change. The
Lord gave a
friend this word this morning.) I just have to use it
here. That’s what I
sense in my spirit.
Two months ago I was so discouraged I thought I had gotten
off track
with all my prayer and unity preaching, proclaiming and
praying. Just before
the New Year I sensed breakthrough was imminent (likely to
happen without
delay, Impending, any day). Breakthrough came suddenly.
Things I had only
hoped and prayed for are happening. Prayer groups are
springing up,
Relationships are mended, Plans for prayer people and
networking groups, are
being put on the table. Reconciliation is bound to come.
The Pastors,

suddenly! This is an act of God! So get ready! Get Ready! GET READY! He’s
coming! Can you
sense it ? Please let me know about the suddenlies,
