5 Things We Love About Prayer INC
1. We are seriously blessed to steward a ministry that runs under
the radar (we are certainly not high profile!) yet provides a
significant service to the Body of Christ. For example, the internet
component of our ministry (posting resources on blogs, websites and
newsletters) has a potential audience of over 50,000 Christian
leaders each month. Most of the sites I post to do not pay for my
research and production time – your gifts make it possible.
2. Freedom. Not being tethered to a 9-to-5 office role, I am able to
juggle Pray! Network, Mission America Coalition, Illinois Baptist
Prayer Ministries, and a growing number of responsibilities that
serve other ministries. Without financial partners, that would be
impossible.
3. Still able to pastor. My second interim pastorate has been a
reminder that much of what I do is not merely working on behalf of
pastors (National Pastors’ Prayer Network) but with pastors.
Convening and facilitating roundtables comprised of pastors and
leaders from across denominational lines is a high honor and the
stories of how fresh-thought has produced best-practice are flooding
my inbox. [Many are collated in the Evangelism Connection
e-newsletter – Let us know if you’d like to receive a free issue
each month for yourself (before you pass it to your pastor!)]
4. Continually stretched. The Mission America Coalition Ministry
Report (included in this mailing and also in PDF form online at
MissionAmerica.org) is just such an example. Thanks to a gifted and
creative team, my service as project manager for the new edition
presents the scope and influence of the coalition for which I am
honored to serve as Chief Operating Officer. That assignment came
immediately after I was assigned to coordinate the Orlando 2011
Leadership Consultation. 700+ participants. 28 Affinity
Consultations. Half dozen strategic partners. These roles stretched
my abilities but feedback on both the report and the consultation
were very positive (and very affirming).
5. ROI. Maybe it is a function of age but I am afforded more
opportunities to consult with ministry organization leaders, mentor
younger men, and coach pastors. All this, not to brag, but to let
you know the return on your investment in our ministry. Supporting
us as you have financially and in prayer empowers us to keep saying
“Yes!” to the doors of service the Lord opens for us. Every day is
different. No teaching/preaching/strategic planning session is the
same. What a blessing when our ideas or insights are applied by
another organization or colleague. And you share in that return on
the offerings you share with us.
Carol and I are always grateful for another opportunity to share a
little of what God has accomplished this past year through your
partnership with us. If you have a question about the
information we’ve provided below, please do not hesitate to contact
us.

Regrettably, it usually takes a disastrous event like a
flood or hurricane to bring a community together. But
