Just a word of "Thanks" to God for each of you who participate in
this
network. Pastors, certainly, but also intercessors, city-reachers,
resourcers, networkers ... those with a focus on prayer, those who apply
these reports and ideas to youth or children ... especially those who
include the NPPN in their prayer!
Thanks also to those who take the time to bless the rest of us - You share
reports on how God is at work in your prayer gathering or church or city -
You reply to something you read so that others can benefit from your added
insight - You register PPGs on our web site so that more pastors will enter
the Holy Spirit's prayer movement...
Thanks be to God (and to you) for strengthening and extending the blessing
of the NPPN. Let us know how we can serve you more effectively,
For everyone you can't see (Chuck & Sheila, Adam, Terri & Carol),

*SUDDEN PASSING OF KEY PHILADELPHIA LEADER
--->This sad news came to me in my role ad Strategic Focus Cities
coordinator in Chicago, but it is relevant to everyone who prays for
Philadelphia. Southern Baptist Churches in Philadelphia are stressing
prayer-based evangelism and prayer-birthed church planting in 2002 and Henry
was to have been their coordinator and leader. Please petition the Father
for someone who can stand in this gap to be used to unify the efforts of the
Body of Christ in Philadelphia.
>From: "Reale, John" <jreale@namb.net>
I don't know if you've heard the very sad news but Dr.Henry Nash
passed
away totally unexpectedly yesterday (12/1/00). We are all just shocked
over
the news. After lunch he felt bad, asked to be taken home, then suddenly
went into convulsions, he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
The actual cause of death is not yet known. Philadelphia SFC is of
course
in shock. Henry was extremely well thought of in the city both among
Southern Baptists but in many other circles. Please pray for his wife,
Claretta, and the SFC team as they minister to the family and adjust to the
stunning situation.
In Him, John

*MEN IN THE INTERCESSORY DELIVERY ROOM
>From: JChevalme@aol.com
A timely word with which I totally concur ... well worth
the reading,
Jean-Claude Chevalme
>From: RonaldEWood@cs.com
Across America, thousands of believers in Jesus are now
fasting and
praying. It is a season of struggle against the flesh so that things of the
Spirit can prevail. It is a time for self-denial so that God's kingdom can
increase. It is a time for ambition to die and for obedience to be
paramount. While many are praying for the welfare of America in the upcoming
election, there is a higher purpose to our devotion- to see God's kingdom
come, to see repentance and revival, to see Jesus honored in the land.
What I am seeing is that the intercessory prayer movement,
one of the
largest mobilizations of the Body of Christ in human history, will now move
to a new level of maturity. Up to this point in time, it has been mostly led
by wonderfully dedicated women. This is well and good and I mean for nothing
I say to take away from what they have done and are still doing. But I see
that a new phase is dawning. It can be symbolized by a change that occurred
in my lifetime in the delivery rooms of hospitals.
When my two children were born, Woman's Hospital did not allow
fathers to
be present at births. It was official hospital policy. But a few months
after my last child was delivered, they changed their policy. I missed the
chance to be in on that precious moment. Now, fathers may enter the delivery
room.
Today, God is inviting men into the delivery room. All men, not
just
those called to minister the Word. We are being welcomed to enter in to the
work of the Lord, to travail in birth for God's will to be done on earth.
But in this process a new breed of God's generals will emerge. These are
apostolic fathers who not only know how to marshal the troops and lead the
battle, they will also be men of much prayer who know how to engage in
spiritual birthing. They will be wrestlers who prevail in prayer over the
enemy in order that their city may be liberated.
The continuing maturation and effectiveness of intercessory
prayer... is
typified by Daniel, a statesman-prophet and true intercessor. He was
faultless and methodical in his praying. He kept himself righteous even
while he served a heathen ruler. He never lost sight of God's plan. He
prayed it into existence. This is truly spiritual warfare, using spiritual
weapons to achieve strategic measurable results including the liberation and
welfare of people and the salvation of souls and the building up of the body
of Christ ... He identified with the sins of God's people and interceded for
God's promises to come to pass. He prayed with authority because He knew
what God had promised. He was heard because he was righteous, because he
prayed according to God's will, and because he used the persistence of true
faith.

*DID YOU VOTE? DID YOU PRAY?

If you think your one vote doesn't count for anything, consider these facts
given by the Florida Division of Elections:
* In 1778, ONE VOTE gave America the English language instead of German.
* In1845, ONE VOTE brought Texas into the Union.
* In1878, ONE VOTE gave Rutherford B. Hayes the presidency of the U.S.
* In1941, ONE VOTE saved Selective Service, just weeks before Pearl Harbor
was attacked.
Voting is our right and our duty, and ONE VOTE is important.
Your vote will make a difference!

*FLORIDA STATE: FROM #1 PARTY SCHOOL TO #1 PRAYER
SCHOOL?
>From: "Brent Kanyok" <lighthouseofprayer1@hotmail.com>
Florida State University has been called the #1 party school in America by
the Princeton Review, and I know last year we had the #1 football team in
America but the body of believers have been praying that Jesus would be #1
on campus. My name is Brent Kanyok, and I work with Campus Renewal
Ministries at Florida State University in hope towards the unification of
the body of Christ, to see a prayer movement sweep through our campus, and
also to train and equip young leaders in this vision.
We have seen great strides in the unification of the body of Christ in the
last three and half years. The question I have been asking students, and
campus ministers this last year is "What if 32,000 people came to
Christ?"
What would we do? How would we take care of these students? I think as a
campus we have begun to think differently. We are in the process of gaining
information on the different ministries to try and find out how many
students are saved? What ethnic background are the students? Where do they
live? We have been experiencing problems with ministries being overcrowded
during weekly meetings. The Wesley Foundation has the biggest facility on
campus, and they have opened there doors to Baptist Campus Ministries to
hold there Tuesday night meeting in there facility. Baptist Campus
Ministries has opened there doors to Chi Alpha to hold Chi Alpha's meetings
at the BCM. We have been seeing open doors of communication amongst
ministries on our campus.
We have been seeing a prayer movement beginning to start at FSU. On Thursday
morning the campus ministers have united to pray for the campus. Friday
afternoon students from different ministries come together to pray for the
campus. We are in the process a great move of the Lighthouse of prayers
being established on campus. For instance Degraff Hall has 131 students in
the dorm and 20 Christians from different ministries have banded together to
pray for students in the dorm. They have recorded on paper every student by
name to be prayed for. The 3 floors in the dorm each have a leader for every
floor. They come together each week to pray for each student by name. Two
other dorms on campus are in the process of seeing this happen as well.
Florida State University has 19 dorms, so we have a ways to go but we are
heading in the right direction.
I believe it is important to have strong leaders working towards this
vision. I am in the process of training about 20 to 25 leaders on how to see
this vision become a reality. These students have a desire to know God, and
to delight in Him above everything. They are from different ministries and
they are influencing the campus for Christ. I believe it is important to see
this generation of young leaders become equal participants in the unified
prayer movement that is taking place in our country. I want these young
leaders to rise up, and be instruments of God in the years to come for this
vision.
This vision I have written about is happening, and my hope is that I can
also travel to other campuses and see the same results. I want Florida State
University to be a model for college campuses throughout this country. Would
you pray with me to see this vision happen on college campuses throughout
America. I believe like it says in Ezekiel 36:9-11 we will see
multiplication in believers and our ruins will be rebuilt. The dorms on
college campuses will one day be a community of believers talking about and
living day in and day out for Jesus. Jesus will be #1 on campus and the talk
of the campus. His name and renown will be the desire of our souls. Thanks

*EVERY VOTE - AND EVERY PRAYER - COUNTS!
>From: PTM@prayertransformation.com
If there are any lessons to be learned from this election,
it is
certainly the importance of every single vote. It is a deception that one's
vote does not matter. Democrats and Republicans are eagerly watched the
Florida recount. Every vote is vitally important!!!
Now for a little spiritual application. It is a deception
to think that
my "little" prayer does not count. Revelation 5:8 gives us the
picture of
golden bowls at the Throne of God collecting the prayers of the saints. That
does not seem to indicate that the prayers of the saints are not of value
... just the opposite! Collected in Golden Bowls at the Throne of God! Think
of that as you lift your prayers before the Father. When you know how
valuable your prayers really are, it will transform your whole prayer life.
Your prayers count! Pray, saints, Pray! Pray for revival, pray for the
church to be revived and society to be transformed by the power of the
Gospel. Your prayers count!

*CHILDREN: NO LONGER IGNORED INTERCESSORS
>From: Praykids@aol.com
Thought you'd like to see how God is moving in children and prayer through
this true story I just received about one of the prayer kids named Jenna:
I've got a pretty neat testimony that I'd like to share with you about my 7
year old daughter, Jenna. Jenna's in 2nd grade and she was really looking
forward to participating in the "See You at the Pole" event at her
school.
She ended up being disappointed because her principal had made a rule making
this event for 6th grade-8th grade only. Jenna began to pray about it
and
asked God to show her what she was supposed to do. She felt strongly that
kids should be able to pray and age or grade shouldn't matter!
One night, about 3 weeks ago, while I was tucking Jenna into bed for the
night, she said "Mommy, I started a Kids prayer group at school
today." I
was very surprised at that moment, because it came totally out of the blue.
I asked her to tell me more about it. She told me that she asked
two of
her friends, a boy and a girl, if they'd like to pray with her for 15 min.
every day, out on the playground during lunch. Well, both kids said yes.
Jenna said that God told her that He wanted her to get permission from the
2nd grade teachers and the school principal before they started praying. God
also wanted this to be a group of kids. So, these 3 kids asked both 2nd
grade teachers and the teachers said yes. The kids asked the two
teachers
if they had any prayer requests...the teachers gave them a few things to
pray about. Then these 3 kids went to the principal's office.
Jenna
proposed their plan and asked him if it would be okay....he said yes.
(His
mouth dropped open)
Jenna and her 2 friends told all the kids (Kindergarten-2nd graders, 5-8
year olds) what they were going to do and asked all of them if they'd like
to join. They decided to pray for 15 minutes during lunch recess
on M/W/
and F, to begin with and they'd add days and time later. They're in
their
3rd week of praying. They've had between 11-15 kids who pray, and
they've
been consistently praying on M/W/F on the playground during recess.
(Recess is 30 minutes) They've even come up with a name to identify
their
group; they
call themselves "Kids in God's Hands." This past Monday,
(11/6) it rained.
What Jenna told me happened next is truly AWESOME!
There were 11 kids who wanted to pray on Monday. They wanted to be
in a
quiet place. So, they went to the front office at the school. They
asked
the staff if they could pray in there. The staff said yes and asked if
they
could join them. So, 5 (out of 7) adults joined the 11 kids that day, on
the floor, holding hands and praying. One of the adults was the
principal!
A staff member made a sign for the office door that read: "Praying
in
Progress." When the praying had ended, the principal asked Jenna if
it
would be all right if he joined them again sometime. She said yes,
anytime!
Today, (11/8) was another day of prayer. The principal joined the
11
kids, along with two playground supervisors, in prayer.
God is moving in a mighty way! He has moved through Jenna in many
ways ~
she
started a kids prayer ministry at our church that meets between services in
a hallway. The prayer group at church is called "Kids P.U.S.H."
and it's
for 2nd-5th graders. In June, 2001, Jenna will go on a Missions Trip to
Haiti (without Mom or Dad) with a Medical Team from our church.
This was
something she prayed about and asked God if it would be
"OKAY."...God said
"YES!"
By the way, Jenna turns 8 this November 27. She goes to a public
school.
It's Thomas Metcalf Elementary, ISU's Laboratory School. Her friend is
Luke
Nayak.
In Him, Theresa Greenlee

*THIRD MILLENNIUM EVE CONCERTS OF PRAYER
>From: "Ben Jennings" <bjenning@ccci.org>
--->NPPNote: Take note of the format for this Concert of Prayer - You
can
use it this week at your church prayer meeting. Select several transition
songs that will help you move from one focus into the next...
Third Millennium Eve occurs on Sunday night, this year. This momentous
occasion carries Biblical, eternal significance. What better way for the
Body of Christ to observe this historic evening than in protracted praise
and prayer?
An expected 2,500 leaders from 110 countries will lead the way in Jerusalem
in an 8-hour all-night Concert of Prayer. Leader David Bryant is
announcing three planning factors:
Purpose: To pray the supremacy of Messiah into the nations
Vision: To reproduce this prayer meeting all over the world
Result, should God answer us: True Biblical revival!
Eight major events in Messiah's life and ministry will be appealed for the
world:
BIRTH- Magnify His incarnate revelation, identification, invasion.
BAPTISM-Ignite new missionary action throughout the church.
TEMPTATION- Multiply our triumph over powers of darkness.
TRANSFIGURATION-Grant us sight and obedience to Messiah.
CRUCIFIXION- Motivate us to embrace full impact of the Cross.
RESURRECTION-Revitalize our identification with His death and
rising.
ASCENSION - Confirm the supremacy of Messiah in His church and creation.
RETURN- Prepare us to complete Messiah's Commission and bring back the King.
Can you join to invite participation of the Body of Christ in this Hour of
Power? Suggestions:
1. Seize the moment for momentous praise and prayer,
2. Schedule a similar component in scheduled events,
3. Arouse dynamic observances among all churches/people,
4. Floodlight prayer on your ministry's millennial vision,
5. Utilize creative ways to make the night a historic one for Christ..
"According to His glorious might"
(Colossians 1:11).
Let's make the night a momentous one! Ben Jennings

*AUSTIN, TEXAS: PASTORS/INTERCESSORS MEET
FOR FIRST JESUS VIDEO PROJECT OF TEXAS GATHERING
>From: Barbara Bucklin <jvptxpray@juno.com>
With the plan in place to mail a JESUS video to every home
in Austin,
pastors and intercessors gathered at Hyde Park Baptist Church Thursday,
November 16, to begin to pray in the harvest. Alan Damron, associate
pastor
at Hyde Park, hosted the meeting. He will be leading up the prayer
effort
for the area.
55 churches from a wide variety of denominations were
represented at the
session. Earl Wright, who is the zone coordinator for Project, said at
least 20 others were also ready to participate. Over 1,000,000 videos
will
be mailed out the week of March 26, 2001 in the Austin and Waco areas. Other
areas in Texas will also be participating in the pilot project.
For
details go to: http://www.jesustexas.org
or earlwright.on@juno.com
Pastor Ramiro Pena of Christ the King Baptist Church, Waco,
gave a
passionate call to the Body of Christ to pray fervently for the lost. He
challenged the group to cry out in desperation to God to soften hearts of
pre-believers and mobilize believers to pray. Pastor Pena is heading the
project for the Waco area.
The goal of the Texas project is to mail a JESUS video --
the book of
Luke -- to all 8.4 million households in the state. The video, compete
with
advertising and promotion, will cost only $2.50 each mailed into the home.
Research shows that for every 3 videos mailed, 1 person will either make a
first commitment or recommitment to Christ. A pastors' information video
was recently mailed to 27,000 pastors in the state. Endorsements by many
Texans including Tony Evans and Max Lucado were featured.
An interesting statistic: indicated decisions
for Christ worldwide in
the last 50 years: a.) Bill Graham Crusades - 3/2 million +/-; b.)
Southern Baptist Convention - Foreign Mission Board by baptism - 5
million+/-; JESUS Film/Video (produced 22 years ago) - 121,481,888.
(Does
not include over 1 billion viewing film by international television after
1986 and decisions that occurred.) Over 1 million people daily view the
JESUS film internationally.
Check out the website where you can view the pastors video
and the JESUS
film! Donations can be made on-line. Volunteer help is
needed in many
areas including foreign film distribution, follow-up, church liaison, youth
strategy and, of course, prayer. If you're from Texas, see how you
can
join this united effort to reach the state for Christ! The time is now!

*POLICE OPEN TO COMMUNITY PRAYER TEAM
>From: charisma@strang.com
A Christian police officer has launched a program aimed at improving
strained relations between the local community and law enforcement officers
in Providence, R.I. Patrolman Gregory W. Bolden's PRAYER-Police
Responsiveness And Yours Encouraging Rebuilding-project was unveiled
yesterday, with the support of local officials.
The new group aims to bring police, clergy, counselors and community
organizations together for a series of neighborhood forums to discuss ways
of reducing crime. It will also provide a network of volunteer counselors
available to officers who may be under stress, reported "The Providence
Journal."
"During its formative years, this nation relied heavily upon the
values
obtained from the exercise of some form of religion," explained Bolden, a
14-year veteran who said that the idea came to him in a dream. "PRAYER is
simply a reliance on the very same values that helped shape this nation.
[It] uses the values obtained by ones faith to foster better
relations within and outside of the police department."
Public Safety Commissioner John J. Partington said that the city's
police
administration had endorsed the program and was allowing Bolden to work on
it full-time. "Anything that would bring police and community together,
I'm
all for."

*A READING: INTRODUCING OUR NEED FOR REPENTANCE
>From: "Voice in the Wilderness Ministries" <Jesus@safeplace.net>
We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven; we have been
preserved these many years in peace and prosperity; we have grown in
numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown.
But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which
preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us, and
we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these
blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own.
Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to
feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to
the God that made us.
It is the duty of nations as well as of men to own their dependence upon the
overruling power of God; to confess their sins and transgressions in humble
sorrow, yet with assured hope that genuine repentance will lead to mercy and
pardon; and to recognize the sublime truth, announced in the Holy Scriptures
and proven by all history, that those nations are blessed whose God is the
Lord.
