“I
guess we Christians have more faith in Muhammad that Jesus Christ if we don’t
believe God can change a Muslim’s heart.”
This
quote leaped (leapt-?) out at me while reading through “The Commission”
magazine (International Mission Board: prayerplus@imb.org).
Though spoken by a strategist working with Muslims in India, the Holy Spirit
immediately applied this penetrating truth to me and the suburban neighbors I
pray for everyday ... “Lord, is it possible that I have more ‘faith’ in
the strongholds that blind them to the Gospel than the One who died on the
cross for their salvation...?”
Pray
for me, that I will be faithful in praying daily for my neighbors and
neighborhood; that I will take advantage of Holy Spirit inspired opportunities
to share my faith; that I will see God give increase to the seeds He has
allowed me to plant.

will to be made known to each of us, that each of us would participate in the
voting process, and that when the voting is complete - we will support
whomever is elected (nationally and locally) with prayer (1 Timothy 2:1-3).

Do
you know what the word “amen” means. We use the word all the time, but do
we know what it means. It means to come into agreement. It originates from the
Hebrew word aman. Aman means to foster or to support, as with a child. When
you take in a foster child, you agree to fully support and take responsibility
of. I know, we had three foster children last year.
When
we use this word in prayer, we are saying that we are agreeing with the person
and will endorse and support what they are praying about. It is necessary for
us to be in agreement about what we are praying about before we use the
term...

*”PRAY...for
ELECTION DAY!”
>From:
“NDP Media” <Ndpmedia@fotf.org>
NATIONAL
DAY OF PRAYER
The
National Day of Prayer Task Force and Focus on the Family
have launched a nationwide campaign in preparation for the November 7th
national elections. “PRAY...for
ELECTION DAY!” urges Christians everywhere to devote November 5 to praying
and fasting for the elections. The
message doesn’t stop there. An
important stage of the campaign urges individuals to utilize their civic
rights and indeed cast their vote on Election Tuesday.
Finally,
both ministries are asking each Christian to urge two people to vote, who in
turn ask two other people, and so on... Are
you willing to be a part of the domino effect as millions of believers
demonstrate faith in action? By
uniting in prayer and committing to vote, we can make a difference for
America.

“Intercessors For America” - USAPRAY@aol.com
With
every member of the House of Representatives and one third of the Senate up
for re-election, a growing number of leading pastors and ministries across the
USA are now encouraging a continuing prayer and fasting vigil that should
continue through Election Day itself, Tuesday, November 7th.
Pastors are being encouraged to incorporate significant time of
corporate prayer into church services and to schedule additional prayer
meetings. Some leaders have also
called for a National Fast for the 21-day period October 17-November 6 just
prior to election day. Young
Christians beat their elders to the punch by taking the initiative and calling
their generation to a 40-day pre-election prayer and fasting vigil September
20-October 29. Multitudes are
fasting and praying over their school lunch hours with this focus: for
historic revival in America; “holy revolution” in their schools; the 2000
general elections. (See www.livethecall.com

*PRE-ELECTION PRAYER AND FASTING
>From:
USAPRAY@aol.com (Intercessors For
America)
Young
‘Call DC’ leaders have taken the initiative and called their generation to
a 40-day pre-election prayer and fasting vigil with these prayer targets:
historic revival in America; holy revolution in the schools of America; the
2000 general elections. They
issued the challenge and distributed expanded 50-page prayer and fasting
guides at The Call DC Youth Assembly on Sept. 2.
Hundreds of thousands of students are using these guides to pray and
fast in agreement during “40 Revolutionary Days” from September 20 to
October 29, 2000. Dr. Bill Bright
received a tremendous affirmative response as he challenged Christian students
to fast over the noon hour and pray in their schools during this 40-day
period. For more information and to download the 40-day prayer guide

Prayer
may not be allowed in school or before high school football games, but there
is plenty going on as students return to classes. Churches, parents and
children are taking part in a wide range of rallies and special services to
commit the new school year to God.
“Our
children need to be covered in prayer,” said Bishop Wayne T. Jackson of
Great Faith Ministries International in Detroit, which organizes an annual
School Day of Prayer. “We believe that the blood of Jesus is a protective
force.” Around 6,000 students were expected to attend Friday’s rally,
staged in a city park to accommodate the large crowd.
“Our
church has a 2,000-seat capacity and, in the last two years, we couldn’t
hold them all,” Jackson told “The Detroit News.” “It had grown in such
a way that people who weren’t church-oriented brought their children.”
Friday’s
event, sponsored by the church and a local Christian TV station, featured
award scholarships and free school supplies, as well as a health fair, puppet
show and food. There were also appearances by TV stars and gospel artists.
Youth
pastor Karl Todd said that the prayer focus was also intended to increase
students’ faith and motivate them to achieve and “think higher of
themselves.” It worked for Athena Taylor, 13, who credited prayer with
helping her through school last year. “After [it], I had a better year,”
she told the newspaper. “I felt stronger and it helped me concentrate on my
school work.”
The
numbers were much smaller at St. Paul’s Church in Hagerstown, Md., when
students received a “backpack blessing” during Sunday’s service. Parents
and teachers were included in the prayer service, which pastor Mary Amundson
said was intended to send children safely into the school year and bring the
community together.
“It’s
a way to remind us, as well as other people, that the Lord goes with us
wherever we go,” she told “The Herald-Mail.” “We’re trying to extend
the blessings of the Lord out into the community.” The blessing is set to
become an annual event at the church.
Thousands
of parents are expected to take part in Campus Prayer Journeys in many states
next month. The rallies will take place on Sept. 19, the evening before the
nationwide See You at the Pole prayer rally for students. The parental prayer
effort began in Arkansas two years ago and has since spread to other states.
“Prayer
is a proactive and spiritual response to the alarming national problem of
school violence,” said Chris Schofield, manager of the prayer evangelism
unit of the Southern Baptists’ North American Mission Board, which is
coordinating the event. “Instead of twisting our hands with worry and fear,
we must mobilize our adults to stand up and pray for the safety, salvation and
spiritual growth of our children and teen-agers this coming school year.”

*TOP TEN REASONS FOR NOT HAVING A PRAYER PARTNER
>From:
“John E. Neill” <neill@flash.net>
Obviously,
I am a big advocate of a Pastor, or ministry leader, having a Prayer Partner(s).
Over the past 6 years, God has graciously allowed PRAYER SHIELD to move
into the lives of many pastors around the United States and the World.
We have been able to do seminars in individual churches and in cities
for interdenominational groups of Pastors.
Each month we receive notes from Pastors who speak of the “blessing
of their Prayer Partners”. But
each month I also receive notes from Pastors telling me the reasons why they
do not have a Prayer Partner. Here
are the Top Ten:
1.
Never had one before
2.
Don’t have time to pick one
3.
Don’t have the time in my schedule
4.
Don’t need prayer
5.
Other more important things to be done
6.
No one in my congregation to pick
7.
Not sure about this “accountability” thing
8.
Sheep bite
9.
I am the one who does the covering

*YEAR 2000 ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL
>From:
NECPrayer@cs.com
>New
England Prayer Link Bulletin
I
continue to be of the opinion that this year, 2000, is absolutely critical.
Jonathan
Edwards speculates in his work the Humble Attempt , 1746, that the
series
of awakenings would culminate this year.
I was encouraged along these lines by Irving King the man who organized
the Jesus March in Springfield several years ago. He had been ministering in Indonesian Iryan Jaya.
He shared that the presence of the Lord was so powerful in each church
he visited, that after simply inviting the church to become a house of prayer
and playing a worship tape, the Holy Spirit would fall on the people and they
would pray at length sometimes up to 5 hours straight.
Pretty good results.
Irving
said this is what happens in a revival area.
He then commented
that,
“I had to get back to New England, I didn’t want to miss the revival”
So,
lets pray fervently in these last months of 2000.

Don’t
bother to give God instructions,
Just
report for duty”

*SAN FRANCISCO, CA: LIGHT THE BAY HIGHLIGHTS
>From:
SusieQ@fbcsf.org
>Of:
First Baptist Church of San Francisco
As
we awoke, it was a dreary and overcast day. But as 12:00 noon approached, the
time when Light the Bay was to begin, the sun came out brightly. Saturday,
September 2nd, was a bright, sunny, and warm day in this City by
the Bay. Hundreds of people gathered at our church, First Baptist Church of
San Francisco, with many other people gathering in other churches around the
city. Here we received instruction and our prayer walking assignments. With
over 320,000 homes in San Francisco, we heard later that over 275,000 of these
homes were prayed over by the prayerwalking teams. We broke up in pairs as we
were each assigned city blocks, with the names and addresses of the homes to
walk and pray over. Praying for each family and person living there. While we
were prayerwalking, there was a prayer rally simultaneously going on at the
Civic Center Plaza (a park right across the street from City Hall).
After
we finished our prayerwalking assigned blocks, everyone went to join the
prayer rally going on at the Civic Center Plaza. There were prayer booths so
that people can come and be prayed for, live music, drama, and an opportunity
to talk to the people of San Francisco that do not know Christ.
In the evening, we all gathered at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium for
a worship service. Hundreds gathered for worship.
At
one point in the worship service, everyone that lived in San Francisco were
asked to stand with their hands raised to the heavens so that we could receive
blessing from God, as those that who came from outside of the city, were asked
to remain seated with their hands outstretched to those standing to send
blessing to those that lived in San Francisco. What an awesome experience that
was! It was a unifying time for the “universal body of Christ.” I felt
very “bonded” with the other FBCSF people that were there. The leaders of
Light the Bay confessed that their past attitudes of San Franciso had been one
of cursing, and they asked for forgiveness from God and those that lived here
for their attitudes and promised to always send blessing to the city of San
Francisco. The Light the Bay leaders brought $20,000 as a gift to San
Francisco but felt God leading them to give more, so they took an offering
from those gathered at the worship service this evening, and $45,000 more was
raised to give to the City of San Francisco. A total of $65,000 was given to
San Francisco to be used to help those women and children afflicted with AIDS.
Mayor Willie Brown was their to receive this gift and he acknowledged before
us that it Prayer was the greater gift that the City had received.
Sunday
morning’s message at our church, First Baptist Church of San Francisco, was
again a reminder that we are the church and as we live each day in this city,
we are “living, moving” reflections of the church and Christ.
As
Pastor Phil said on Sunday night, we are not responsible to save the whole
city, but we are responsible for the people that God has put in our “circle
of influence.” God has placed us all here not by accident, but it it a part
of His plan. I believe God’s spirit moved on Saturday, and again on Sunday
at our church. I believe God is preparing the soil for the harvest, and that
He is preparing us at First Baptist Church of San Francisco, as well as the
whole “body of Christ” in San Francisco for the reaping. God is preparing
to do a mighty work in this City, let’s continue to pray for San Francisco.

*DES MOINES, IA: STATEWIDE SOLEMN ASSEMBLY
>From:
“Greg McCall” <dsm4j@radiks.net>
You
are invited to a Solemn Assembly on Saturday, October 7, from 2:00 until 7:00
p.m. here in Des Moines. It will be hosted by Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37th
and University, Des Moines (map on reverse side).
God
is awakening a need for change in His church. The divisions we experience are
not just doctrinal, but the results of deep-seated sins that are both personal
and corporate. Solemn Assemblies give us opportunities to confess and turn
away from these sins. God has shown that He wants to bless the efforts of
Christians who come together to seek His face. The words of the prophet Joel
apply to us in Iowa today:
Declare
a holy fast; call a sacred assembly. Summon the elders and all who live in the
land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.
Joel
1:14
On
June 24 Christians from many parts of Iowa came to our first Solemn Assembly
and dealt with issues such as pride (individual, congregational and
denominational), lack of compassion, judgmentalism, and others. There were
periods of reading Scripture, meditation, and time for group reflection and
sharing. Musicians led us through some of the intervals with praise and
worship.
We
believe that God is calling His people together on October 7 to go beyond
these first issues and address such things as complacency, busyness, and
spiritual clutter in our lives and churches. We encourage you to put this date
and time on your personal calendar and also extend the invitation to other
pastors, your local congregation and other spiritual leaders. When Gods people
come together in this way, the Lord does work that is clearly different than
what we normally experience. The cleansing and personal release that we
experienced June 24th is testimony to that, and we desire more of
Gods people to receive this in October. This admonition reflects the events in
Ezra 9 and 10 as well as Nehemiah 9 where the people of God came together to
be renewed.
This
statewide Solemn Assembly provides an opportunity for us to become acquainted
with each other as leaders and pray together for the Church in Iowa. Nineteen
pastors groups are being contacted with this letter. Planning is underway, and
if you would like to participate in some portion of the service, please call,
write, or E-mail us as soon as possible.
Remember
and share: Solemn Assembly, Redeemer Lutheran Church, 37th and
University in Des Moines, Saturday, October 7, from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. We
hope to see you there for a life-changing time in prayer and worship.

Christians
Invited to “Meet Me on the Bridge” Event-Sept.30 at Sunrise
Imagine!
Several thousand Christians standing single file, hand in hand, across the
Richard I Bong Memorial Bridge in a prayer and praise service simulcast over
Christian radio stations! It’s
called, “Meet Me on the Bridge,” and its happening Sat., Sept. 30 at
sunrise (7:06 a.m.)! You’re invited. Come
and bring your Walkmans and Boomboxes.
The
newly formed Twin Ports Prayer Force invites Christ followers across Minnesota
and Wisconsin to stand hand in hand on the Bong Bridge as a bold witness to
God and the greater Northland area that Christians are united in prayer asking
God for His Holy Spirit to move mightily through these communities, claiming
them for His kingdom.
Corinne
Scott, one of the organizers of the Twin Ports Prayer Force, said that the
event will be a praise and prayer service of unity—unity of generations,
unity of Christian churches, unity of communities and unity of purpose—will
be simulcast via Christian radio stations.
People
will need to get up early in order to be in place on the bridge in time to see
the sunrise at 7:06 a.m. An
average walker can reach the center of the arch from the Wisconsin side or the
Minnesota side in 20-25 minutes.
Scott
said that youth groups are being encouraged to “claim the arch” of the
Bong Bridge.
“We’d
like to see a thousand young people take a stand on the bridge,” she added.
“The youth organizations are promoting to young people, and churches are
being encouraged to have their youth participate.
“And,
we’d like to see entire families including grandparents come and stand
together with people from their churches or with their neighbors,” Scott
added. “We believe Christians
will be blessed by having participated. It
is an exciting adventure.” The event will be held rain or shine. If there is lightning, the event will be canceled.
The
Twin Ports Prayer Force events are organized by clergy and laity from many
different churches. Originators
include Corinne Scott (Lakeside Baptist Church), Kami Scott (North Bay
Community Church), Pastor Frank Evans (Lakeside Baptist Church) and Pastor
Paul Anderson (Central Assembly of God Church).
Monthly prayer gatherings are hosted by churches alternately in
Superior and Duluth. For more information on the Meet Me on the Bridge event,

JOEL NEWS <MarcvanderWoude@XC.Org>
--->NPPNote:
Many of us have forgotten that the Lord called us into extraordinary prayer
with the vision of praying for every person by year end 2000. As I write this,
the Lord expects us to fill the 100 or so days remaining with passionate,
petitionary prayer. While we must begin to look and plan and even pray beyond
December 31, 2000, we must not give up hope for a great outpouring of God’s
purposes and the Spirit’s power “by year end 2000.” Why else would Jesus
have brought us together under that banner? So, as we commit to reaching our
cities during the next 25 years, let us also cast our cares and our prayers on
Him ... hoping for a move of God unprecedented in this or any other
millennium.
The
40-day Revolutionary Fast
September
20th - October 29th
Beginning
with “See You At The Pole”
The
day before The Call DC, I wept with deepest agony, wrestling for God’s
purposes to stand for the following day. The scripture the Lord gave me was
Psalm 82:1; “God presides over the great assembly.” No words can
accurately describe His awesome sovereignty that day; such weeping: such
power, such prayer. His greatness was revealed in our terrible weakness and we
are all filled with incredible thanksgiving for what He has done.
But
one day must lead to forty days, and forty to a revolution. As I sat by Dr.
Bill Bright on The Call DC stage, I began to replay in my heart his prophetic
words and vision of 1994:
“God
has never spoken to me audibly, and I am not given to prophecy. But that
morning His message to me was clear. ‘America and much of the world will,
before the end of the year 2000, experience a great spiritual awakening! And
this revival will spark the greatest spiritual harvest in the history of the
Church.’ I sensed the Holy Spirit was telling me that millions of believers
must seek God with all their hearts in fasting and prayer before He will
intervene to save America. I was impressed by the Spirit to pray that two
million believers will humble themselves by seeking God in forty-day fasts.”
(Dr.
Bill Bright, Founder of Campus Crusade for Christ International, in ‘The
Coming Revival: America’s Call to Fast, Pray, and Seek God’s Face’.)
The
Mightiest Weapon---
This
was the word of the Lord to Dr. Bill Bright during a forty day fast in 1994. I
believe his vision has become one of the clearest church-wide trumpet sounds
in American church history. I remember speaking to an early YWAM leader, Floyd
McClung, at a PrayerStorm event, where hundreds of youth gathered to fast and
pray. He said, “I had almost given up hope for America and had resigned
inwardly to give my focus to other nations until Bill Bright called the fast!
Now I am filled with hope.” Why? The mightiest weapon in the Christian
arsenal is being unleashed: HUMILITY expressed through fasting! Since Dr.
Bright’s call, tens of thousands have entered into these consecration fasts.
The
year 2001 looms large ahead of us. Bill Bright’s word from God is still in
effect that two million believers should go on forty-day fasts before the end
of the year 2000. This window of time is still open. Bright’s call must not
be ignored now. We must press forward in humility, fasting and prayer for the
full breakthrough. Familiarity breeds contempt. A dangerous casualness to this
call could be our undoing. A turning of the revival tide is still needed.
In
response to the Lord, we are initiating a forty-day strategic window of
fasting and prayer starting September 20th with “See You At The
Pole” and going until October 29th, just days before the national
elections. This fast was launched at The Call DC on September 2, 2000 with
300,000+ youth.
We
are calling three generations to this fast, believing the prophetic word given
through Bill Bright, that now is the time of turning in America. We believe
God has given a clear prophetic strategy and prayer targets for this fast. As
you may know, we received the vision for The Call DC the day after Promise
Keepers in 1997. I preached about The Burning Man in the Desert - the demonic
festival in Nevada, where an orgy of sex and fire, culminates with setting a
two-story wooden man on fire. During that time, I prophesied that God had His
Burning Man in the Desert. It was the Nazarite John-the-Baptist army of youth,
who would go the Mall to fast and pray, as the hearts of the children turned
to their fathers. The Nazarite theme carried us along for three years in
preparation for The Call DC.
Months
before this September event, a brother totally disconnected from me received a
dream. In the dream, he saw a massive gathering of youth on an open field.
Suddenly, a huge burning man-like figure appeared on the field.
All the students scattered and ran for protection. This young man who
had the dream, ran and hid underneath a pavilion and began to cry out to God
for help. In the dream, as he was praying, he glanced over to his right and
saw a little lunch box inscribed with the words “Nazarite Serendipity”. He
took the lunch box, went out and threw it at the demonic burning man. The
Burning Man instantly disintegrated.
I
could hardly believe this coincidence, this holy serendipitous dream with
Nazarites, kids on the Mall fasting, and the Burning Man. For months, I
pondered this dream. Only a few days before The Call, did the understanding
come crashing in upon me. The Nazarites at the Mall - these extreme disciples
- are to give away their lunches to friends at school for 40 days, hold prayer
meetings, and pray for the greatest revival in the history of America.
It
happened before in 1857. A man in New York City named Jeremiah Lamphier was so
burdened for revival that he called a prayer meeting at noon. Only six people
showed up at his prayer meeting. However, within months, tens of thousands
were praying on the east coast at noontime. What is now called The Great
Noontime Prayer Meeting Revival swept all of America. Whole cities like
Portland and Denver shut down at noon because everyone was praying.
Over a million converts were added to the churches in the nation. May
God do it again!
The
Challenge: Fasting Lunchtimes For Prayer---
People
may fast in different creative ways. Some may fast for 40 days on just water
or juice. We would encourage fasting television, sports, and entertainment,
but THE CENTRAL FAST WE ARE CALLING IS FASTING LUNCHTIMES FOR PRAYER and
holding prayer meetings on your campus. We are calling parents to join with
the youth in this fast. Like Elijah, let them pray for the anointing of a
double portion generation that will change history. Hold noon prayer meetings
at your businesses and places of work.
In
personal repentance and humility, pray daily for:
1.
A great spiritual awakening to take place in America
2.
A great turning of youth to Christ on your campus
3.
The overruling providence of God in the upcoming election, for godly
leaders who will appoint judges who honor the law of God
4.
The reversal of Roe vs. Wade (Haman’s decree of destruction)
5.
A great fathering and mothering prayer and mentoring movement to arise
and nurture the Harvest

The
whole future of our nation is at stake. Who knows if you are here for such a
time as this? This is Esther’s day. This is Joel’s day. This is Daniel’s
day. A day of opportunity lost or gained forever. It is a day for revolution!

*SACRAMENTO, CA: “SACRAMENTO AT PRAYER
>From:
“Joe Walsh” <joewalsh@cprnet.org>
I
am sending this email to you because I believe you will pray for me and a
group of men that are sincerely seeking to love the Lord, love their wife’s
and family’s, support their local church and be instruments of
reconciliation in our community of greater Sacramento.
However,
as we seek to do all that the “fire of testing” also increases.
There have been couples and family conflicts, children misbehaving,
financial and business reversals, several deaths, severe family sickness and
ministry leadership confusion and misunderstanding.
“Sacramento
At Prayer” is a prayer movement
that God is leading our community into. It
is not an idea or plan from man, but something that is the fruit of many
people praying over many years for this region.
I believe November 10, 2000, with speakers like Tony Evans, Jon
Petersen and Brian Warren, will be a monumental day for our region.
And the enemy knows it!
As
intercessors we ask you to pray for---
The
several pastoral networks throughout the city and region. Pray Philippians
chapter 2 for the pastors of the region.
The
formulation of the pastors steering committee of Sacramento At Prayer.
Joe
Walsh of Christian Prayer Resources. The
Lord has lead me to commit to working together with Shoulder To Shoulder and
the Church of of Greater Sacramento Region to focus on the largest
prayer mobilization of the region in its history.
This three year prayer focus will
eventually lead to thousands of men and women, and children coming to Christ. Please pray for me and my family, and a unified, fervent,
sustained prayer focus for this city and region.

*PACIFIC NORTHWEST PRAYER BREAKTHROUGH - 2000
>From:
“Gateway Worship Center” <first@clatskanie.com>
Pacific
Northwest Prayer Breakthrough - 2000
Going
up to the High Places VI: The Harp & The Bowl
Wednesday,
October 25th through Saturday, October 28th 2000
The
Lord has laid a corporate call upon the church here to pray until a spiritual
awakening hits the Pacific Northwest.
This
is the 6th of such gatherings called “Going Up to High Places.
The Lord birthed this ministry at the end of 1997. We have two of these a year
with pastors, ministry leaders of all types and intercessory prayer groups who
come from here and there. It is
growing all the time as the news of what God is doing through this ministry
spreads. It is for the purpose of
networking pastors, intercessors, and the Body of Christ together for the
purpose of equipping, training and anointing to go back to their individual
communities with a greater call and purpose to continue in the sometimes
lonely struggle to see a breakthrough in their churches and communities. Many of the churches, pastors and intercessors that we
minister to are from small towns with small churches, although we do have
those who come from larger ministries. Our heart has specifically been
burdened for those who feel alone as much of our area has a lot of little
towns and churches. We feel that
the small, out of the way places are significant to what God is getting ready
to do. We have seen some really
awesome transformations in people’s lives as they return time after time to
refresh the call and anointing and giftings as well as mobilizing them into
the continued battle.
Will
you please help us “Prepare the Way of the Lord” that He may come in? We
here in this part of our nation are in desperate need of revival in our land.
God has promised much and many are believing for all that He has
promised, but we need intercession on our behalf.
Will
you please write to us here at this address and tell us that you will
participate by mobilizing prayer warriors in your area, as many believers as
you can and that you will set aside a season to intercede specifically on the
dates, Wednesday, October 25th through Saturday, October 28th
for the churches, leaders and a spiritual awakening in our communities here in
the Pacific Northwest? It is a strategic time in the history of the Northwest.
God has been speaking and we are
listening.

Central Florida is now closed out. The original vision was to continue through
the year 2000 so we are stopping just a little early. “Thank you” to all our partnering ministries. Together we
prayed for well over 28,500 homes all around Central Florida, most of them by
name thanks to the Mapping Center for Evangelism computer program. Thanks to
Steve Douglass and Campus Crusade for paying the first year of the Mapping
Center program and to Rick Tesh and Mary Lee Workman of Campus Crusade for all
their help and letting us use one of their computers. Special thanks to Tracey
Duffield for printing off many maps and for coordinating the big prayerwalk
with the Orlando Convoy of Hope.

...A father and son are bicycling to every state to pray for the nation.
Assemblies of God minister Bill Easter and 17-year-old Joshua began in June.
They ride 50 miles a day on a journey that will take at least five years and
7,500 miles, according to Assemblies of God News Service.
...”God
gave me a mandate to do this. He said preach the gospel on the highways and
byways and that’s what we plan to do,” Bill Easter said. The Easters and
the driver of their recreational vehicle have prayed at the capitols in
Alabama, Florida, Ohio, and West Virginia. At each, Easter drags a 7-foot
wooden cross up the steps and prays quietly underneath, the news service
reported. Curious people often ask him what he is doing, then join him in
prayer.
...About
30 people have become Christians as a result of the ministry, Easter said.
Speaking engagements help finance the trip. Easter has taken several breaks
from riding, including a six-week stop to conduct revival services. “We have
divine appointments every day,” Easter said. He said he believes that God
will bring revival to the United States. “If we will pray and humble
ourselves, God will heal our land.”

Halloween
- A Night To Evangelize
We,
the Christian community, have a great opportunity Oct. 31!
What other night will you have so many people coming to your door?
Why not use this as an opportunity to reach out with the love of Jesus?
Ask if you can pray a blessing and safety for them and give the “trick
or treaters” a small Bible, a pencil with “Jesus Loves You” or some
other appropriate trinket that will show the love of Jesus when they get home
and empty their bags of “goodies”. Light your house up and make it inviting.
Put up white lights outside then leave them up for Christmas.
If possible, take tables out to the side walk where you will be able to
talk with the parents, also. Give
cider and donuts, as this will slow them down from just taking your gift and
quickly running to the next home. As
they are eating and drinking, ask to pray for them.
You will be planting a seed in them through this prayer then your gift
will plant another seed in their home. God
will take care of the rest.
Let’s
change this night to a night to evangelize!
Light the night in your
neighborhood
Bill
and Pam Malone, Pray U.S.A.!

*GATESVILLE, TX: CORPORATE PRAYER
>From:
Amy Kauffroth <amy7@swbell.net>
We
will be “coming together” for a time of corporate prayer, intercession,
worship, and warfare over the Gatesville area.
Date:
Saturday, October 14, 2000
Where: Twin Creeks Christian Center (Hwy. 84 Gatesville)
Time: 3 PM
If
you are unable to join us in the natural, please stand in agreement with us in
spirit for the return of this land and its occupants to its rightful owner,
the only true and living God! We come together on that day to claim the land
back and take authority over the defeated foe. The Lord showed me that we are
dealing with a principality so some of you may want to consider fasting also.
This
is not about entertainment, preaching or promoting any ministry, this is about
exercising the authority that Jesus Christ gave us to neutralize our enemy and
operate as the body of Christ. “Unity” is what will destroy the powers of
darkness.
REVIVAL
will not bring UNITY,
UNITY
will bring REVIVAL!
May
you always “seek first the kingdom” and rest in His “peace that passes
all
understanding.” Always at His
feet, Bonnie Nixon
Directions:
35 south through Waco across the river to Hwy 6 north. Exit Hwy 6 and proceed
to exit Franklin / Hwy 84. Go west on 84 and continue exactly 30 miles to Twin
Creeks Christian Center which is a blue building on the left that sits off the
road.

*CONCERT
OF PRAYER TOUR: 50 CHURCHES
>From:
<RWill16122@aol.com>
I
just wanted to share what is happening with the continuing Concert of Prayer
tour 2000 in Detroit Michigan which has been to over 50 churches this year and
is continuing. The praise reports are coming in from the churches we have went
house to house in prayer with. One
woman was ill and near death and had been sick for 24 years ... warfare prayer
went forth in her church and she returned to the doctor to find that she had
so greatly improved that they knew it was a miracle. Also we went to pray at a
community center that a saint was in charge of ... and the city was gong to
take the property away from her... prayer went forth and the city gave her the
land and all of the surrounding area. We
are continuing the tour in other cities in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, as well as
Canada ... pray for us as we journey in to the churches of many different
denominations. Prayer is really
on the move. More details to
follow.

When
you pray and seek God for answers - seek, ask, then shut up, wait and listen
...
My
oldest daughter told me that her
Science Teacher was going to talk to the class about evolution.
So she ask her teacher if they could have a panel discussion about
Creation vs Evolution or many invite a speaker from the Creation Research
Institute. The teacher thought it
was a great idea.
After
class the teacher asked her to stay. He
thanked her and said; “I am a
Christian,
and I can not bring up Creation on my own, but I am allowed to
respond
to the questions of my students. So
every year I pray, “God, sent
me
one student who will stay up for righteousness and ask”. You are the
answer
to my prayer.”

AWE OF ALL THE PRAYER REQUESTS
>To:
“Updates NPPN” <updates@nppn.org>
I
am just in awe of your list and all of the prayer requests you share. There’s
just more in here than anyone could ever pray over. I keep thinking that I
will unsub, but I’ve just been compelled to stick with your list. On those
occasions when you have mentioned our ministry, we’ve picked up several
subs. Especially, pastors and
missionaries from Africa...
--->NPPNote:
Just a reminder - I do not expect everyone to pray for every request. Skim,
scan - search for those the Spirit assigns to you. Others will be asked to take the rest!

>From:
“jan” <jan@cfdevotionals.org>
Often
we are so busy (and I am speaking for myself here) pouring out our requests
and desires, and even thanking God - that we don’t take the time to simply
listen. But prayer should be a two-way conversation, not a monologue.
1
Sam. 3:10 (NASB) Then the LORD came and stood and called as at other times,
“Samuel! Samuel!” And Samuel said, “Speak, for Your servant is
listening.”
We
need to be attentively listening for God’s voice:
Habakkuk
2:1 (NASB) I will stand on my guard post And station myself on the rampart;
And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me, And how I may reply
when I am reproved.
Jesus
was our model for seeking solitude, which makes listening easier:
Mark
1:35 In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the
house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there. A quiet
environment can also be conducive to discerning God’s voice:
Psa.
46:10 (NIV) Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the
nations, I will be exalted in the earth.
Sometimes
God speaks to us in ways we don’t expect, so we need to listen with an open
mind to “new ways.” The words “never done it that way before” may be
heard among us Christians, but they are not in God’s vocabulary:
1
Kings 19:11-13 So He said, “Go forth and stand on the mountain before the
LORD.” And behold, the LORD was passing by! And a great and strong wind was
rending the mountains and breaking in pieces the rocks before the LORD; but
the LORD was not in the wind. And after the wind an earthquake, but the LORD
was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake a fire, but the LORD was not
in the fire; and after the fire a sound of a gentle blowing. When Elijah heard
it, he wrapped his face in his mantle and went out and stood in the entrance
of the cave. And behold, a voice came to him and said, “What are you doing
here, Elijah?”
And
when we do hear God’s voice, we must be ready to obey. Hearing and obedience
are intertwined. In fact, our English word “obey” can be translated “to
hear.” Mary, the mother of Jesus, is an exemplary model for us:
Luke
1:38 And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me
according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.

Watchmen
are taking their place on The Texas Prayer Wall as people from cities across
our state fill in 24 hours of prayer in their homes and in corporate
gatherings around the state. We
would like to have every day covered. Cities
choose one day a month to organize prayer around the clock for revival in our
state.
Texas
has been a gate for the entrance of wickedness into our nation—
prayer
taken out of the schools in Austin, prayer at football games removed
in
a Santa Fe decision, Roe v. Wade, the Jasper murder of James Byrd, Jr.,
and
the assassination of President Kennedy. We
are praying that the Lord
will
remove the reproach, cleanse our land, and cause Texas to be a gate for
righteousness.
Pam
Faraone, Pray Texas board member from El Paso, is organizing The
Texas
Prayer Wall. The first commitment
will end December 31, 2000. That’s
just
three days of prayer left for 2000.
Many
wonderful things are happening in Texas such as the Jesus Video Project as
well as great progress in cities where pastors as well as intercessors are
united for the Great Commission and revival.
However, the enemy is not standing idly by without causing a fight.
Please join us in this very important opportunity to take your place in
standing in the gap before the Lord for our land.
Contact Pam Faraone at 915-591-4999 or at pfaraone@juno.com.
