(We actually held it at the Quigley Seminary Chapel on Rush street) It was very moving as fellow employees prayed for our nation, our leaders and children. There was a very special time of intercession for each other in huddles. The turn out was wonderful, even in the rain. Several people from the north loop also came. A lady who works with you (Susan "Marter?" came after hearing about it on NPPN. Abouta dozen people signed up to participate in ongoing lighthouses. We expect to establish 6 more lighthouses in the workplace, for a total of 12. There were even non-believers inviting other non-believers. Please pray for us because it is difficult to know just how to follow-up on such an event. There is such a spiritual hunger here. Some types of outreach are hindered because of being in a Federal building, but we will be encouraging one on one prayer-evangelisim. Could you please asked our brothers and sisters to keep us here in Vicenza in your prayers as we humble ourselves through fasting and prayer. We are believing the Lord for a mighty move within this community, but the revival, healing and restoration must begin with us. Below are the specifics of our fast & prayer for this year. Thank you and may the Lord continue to smile upon you and the work you are doing for His name sake. Your friend, Pastor Green Vicenza Gospel's Annual Fast & Prayer / II Chronicles 7:14 / 6 May - 4 Jun 99 The time has come again for us as a congregation to humble ourselves under the almighty hand of the Father, that He may take us to the next level in this ministry. This year our Focus will be "Our Ministries", and our theme will be "Ministry Begins At Home!!!" As before this will be a month partial fast, which will be conducted in 4 ten-day phases: Phase 1: Preparation (Focus preparing ourselves, spiritually, emotional, & naturally, for this period of fasting & praying. Spiritually we need to study the lessons provided on fasting & prayer. Emotionally we need to prepare our hearts and minds through mediation on the focus and theme, and naturally we need to prepare by starting to eat less during the hours of fasting listed before). Preparation is the key to a successful Fast & Prayer. 26 April - 5 May 99 Phase 2: Home Ministry (Focus on Marriage & Parenting relationships, if single your relationship with the Father should be your focus. Seeking guidance and direction on strengthening these relationships). 6-15 May 99 Phase 3: Church Ministry (Focus on our Gifts & Placement with this ministry. Seeking the Father for guidance and direction on what He has for us to do within this portion of His Body). 16-25 May 99 Phase 4: Community Ministry (Focus on Outreach & Witnessing within the Vicenza Community. Seeking guidance and direction on how to be effective in reaching this community by being a witness and a light). 26 May - 4 Jun 99 ____________________________________________>>> PRAYER SUGGESTIONS FOR THE CHICAGO REGION...AND BEYOND >From: kathrynsoars@juno.com It is crucial to pray for a release of unity among the leadership of this city-that denominational boundaries would be broken down. Pray that the competitive spirit would be crushed, and that we would come together as a whole body. Pray that the strongholds of selfish ambition and pride would be broken down. If leadership cannot come together in unity, the move that God has desired to bring forth will be greatly hindered. Isa 26:17 As a woman with child and about to give birth writhes and cries out in her pain, so were we in your presence, O LORD. 18 We were with child, we writhed in pain, but we gave birth to wind. We have not brought salvation to the earth; we have not given birth to people of the world. (NIV) * Pray that there would be a release of genuine repentance over the disunity that has been present in our city. It is imperative that the whole body comes together in order for the move of God to be birthed in this region. * Pray for God to identify and to put into place His leadership over our city and region. That each of the members of His body would take their designated place and that we would work together in harmony. * Pray for the release of the prophetic to speak to the dry bones of the Church-that we would come together as the mighty army God has called us to be. Pray that where ones have been discouraged and without hope, separated from the body, God would breathe life and restoration. * Pray that the strongholds over this city and region would be identified, and that God would release specific strategy to pull them down. Pray that every plan that the enemy has for this city would be averted, and that God's Kingdom would rule in this place. * Pray that God would network together His people-that He would establish divine connections, bringing His people together to form the net that will eventually catch the great harvest that is coming. * Pray that we would increasingly work together in a spirit of love and harmony, deferring to one another in humility. * Pray that the judgments of God that have been prophesied over Chicago,I.e. possible flood, earthquake, and terrorist explosion would be averted. Pray that specific repentance would be released, and the mercy of God would pour out over the area. * Pray that the Lord would heal us, deliver us, put our families in order. Pray He would fill us with His holiness, boldness and power, and set us all in our places ready for His orders. Pray He would show us how to redeem the inheritance of our families and our city, that this would indeed be a city of refuge, a lighthouse for healing. * Pray that God would awaken the intercessors-the watchmen-and that they would be prepared to take their place in the battles that are to come. * Pray that God would awaken His Bride-that she would come forth in mature love for her Bridegroom King.. * Pray that the isolated fires within and around this city would come together to become one huge fire under God s direction and leadership, and that this fire would consume all that is not of Our Lord and King, and that revival would break out in this land. _________________________________________>>> MAINE >From: Religion Today More than 5,600 people indicated they made a decision to follow Jesus Christ in Maine. Luis Palau and 10 other evangelists preached to 77,000 people at 80 events in two dozen cities and towns during Mission Maine, a month-long statewide outreach that ended last weekend. ..."Is this Portland, Maine?" Art Gay, pastor of First Baptist Church, remarked to Palau April 29 as they looked at the crowd of 300 people who came forward to meet with counselors at the Cumberland County Civic Center. The state has not been known for religious fervor. ...A youth rally with dc Talk May 1 drew Mission Maine's largest crowd, 7,000, and 623 came forward during Palau's gospel invitation. Delegations from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont attended crusade events and met with Mission Maine and Louis Palau Evangelistic Association leaders to discuss statewide campaigns in their states. ..."It has been tremendously exciting to see 600 Maine churches connect with each other," Kevin McBride, chairman of Mission Maine, said. Some churches that had never communicated with each other "are now working together in ministry and are now committed for the long haul, because we're now talking about where do we go from here." It was totally awesome with over 489 decisions for Christ. Prayer is the reason...we have no doubt.... as intercessors have been praying for their area, the women that were coming, the men who were involved in volunteering, the speakers, etc. The area has at least 190 pastors from all denominations that have been praying together for two years. There are many organized groups including Lighthouses of Prayer & Prayer walking on Thursday evenings. It is great to see what God is doing! There were men from the Omaha Men of Integrity that started praying several months ago and volunteered to work at the conference plus many women who were committed to praying before and during the conference. Some in their seats but many did not leave the prayer room they were so committed to praying for each person at the conference. The most exciting time for me personally was in the prayer room. Especially when a young mother and her 6 year old daughter came in. They almost didn't make the conference (it had been sold out for a couple of months) but someone gave them 2 tickets just before it started on Friday night. The mother made a decision for Christ, later they came back after the conference was over as we were cleaning up the room and the little girl also made a decision for Christ. For her and her daughter, the weekend was a specific appointment with God! __________________________________________________>>> "EVERY TONGUE AND TRIBE..." >From: IMPACTJDS@aol.com --->NPPNote: What a joy to see the news about a combined worship service in Charleston that brought these congregations together. The will also be hosting the same event in 3 other cities this year: * San Jose, CA - San Jose Arena, June 26, 1999 * Washington, DC - MCI Center - July 10, 1999 * Houston, TX - Compaq Center, October 23, 1999 I am forwarding to you the first of the prayer requests for the conferences that I have received from the national prayer contact, Terri Cheuvront. For more information re: prayer for these events, please contact Terri at rcheuvront@aristotle.net. Thanks for you prayers and support on behalf of the family. Blessings, Thomas Bush, PRAY! San Diego **PRAYER REQUESTS: A network of prayer warriors in each of the four cities to be raised up who will pray for their event. Each of the four arenas will fill up. The design of the marriage covenant that is being passed out. That it would appropriately raise the standard of the covenant of marriage. The speakers and their messages. These are all being worked on now. Pray that God's agenda would be accomplished through each of these messages. A movement of churches who would establish "Marriage Covenant Sunday" in the year 2000. An annual exaltation and reaffirmation of marriage and family by churches similar to Mother's Day and Father's Day. 1000 Homebuilder groups would be started from each event. Volunteers to help with the extra volume of calls due to the events. Pray that the Lord would raise up a Prayer Director to mobilize prayer for the San Diego event. That God would raise up the volunteer leadership in our event cities to recruit the necessary volunteer team captains and their volunteer teams. That we would manage this strategy well and be diligent to respond to the volunteer applications quickly. That the volunteers would be faithful to show up for training and also for the event to work and we would manage them well the day of the event and there would be no confusion regarding the where and when the volunteers would need to work. That we would be creative in the placement of the Resource Centers and they would be able to handle the volume of people that will be in attendance. All the remaining logistical details would come together quickly and we would be ahead of schedule to have every thing in place for the events. Please pray with us about this need, and also about opportunities for people to hear Ron George, International Director of World In Need, who has been working in Kosovo and Macedonia for over 3 years. In Christ, Larry Dear Linda: Our World In Need office is in a refugee housing office here in Oak Park, Illinois called "Settler's Housing," and we are hoping to help with 20 families. I will give a call to Susanne, and hope we can coordinate efforts. Our International Director, Ron George will be in town May 16 to 25 (he's speaking at the "Intent" tentmaking conference May 21-23), and he is working feverishly to help in Macedonia, and we hope to help at this end of things. Any chance we could work together to do a mini-version of the consultation you did for Sudan, only focused on Macedonia and Albania? We have worked in Macedonia and Kosovo for over 3 years, and have people on the ground in Macedonia right now. Ron himself has a good grasp of the big picture, historically, politically, and human crisis wise. In fact, we are hoping to find counselors to send for crisis counseling to go over to Macedonia for up to 3 months. Clive knows Ron from England. Please give him our regards. In Christ, Larry Kendrick, US Director, World In Need On Thu, 6 May 1999 10:28:31 EDT LPBGC@aol.com writes: Hello dear friends! Some of you know, I am involved with World Relief ministry to refugees through my church. We just got an urgent prayer/ministry request from our World Relief contact in Chicago. As early as May 14th Chicago could be receiving upwards of 1000 refugees from the present situation in Kosovo/Albania. Now is our opportunity to make a difference in the midst of this crisis! They are asking the churches and individuals to pray about getting their congregations involved at all levels... from donating financially (less preferred) to providing temporary housing (best option). Also needed are groups who will put together a "welcome kit" of household items, or tutor them in English, ...and there is a great need simply for people who will be-friend and love these "foreigners in our land" in the Name of Jesus. If you are interested, email Susanne Greicar at sgreicar@wr.org for more information. For those of you who attend Harvest Bible Chapel, you can also call Steve Currey about this at 847-398-7005. Blessings be avalanched upon your heads!! linda __________________________________________________>>> NOT TOO LATE TO PRAY... >From: PRAYTX@aol.com (Alice Patterson) Do you have a burden to reach your city for Christ? Do you feel that you have hit a plateau? Are you still struggling with the same few pastors and intercessors? Are you the only one in your city who has a burden to see the whole city come to Christ? Are you organizing Lighthouses of Prayer in your congregation, and do you want to know how you can connect with others in your city to see the whole city reached? This City Reacher School is for you. I've personally seen what happens to pastors, leaders, and concerned Christians who attend the School, especially with someone else from their city. It happened in our own city of Odessa in West Texas. Ed Silvoso had been to town in 1996, and pastors had begun to pray together. But we of Pray Texas were virtually carrying the vision for the whole city until the City Reacher School in September of last year. Three pastors, Terry Pierce from First Church of the Nazarene, Johann Neethling of Mackey Chapel United Methodist Church, and Don Palmer of Life Unlimited Church attended the City Reacher School together. What book, tapes, encouragement, and prayers did not accomplish, God did when they together experienced a city in process! They came home encouraged and ready to reach the city together. It can happen in your city! Why is it important to attend a CRS rather than just purchase cassettes or watch Harvest Evangelism's excellent videos? * You experience a city in process! During the daytime you will receive powerful teaching focused on reaching your city for Christ by international city reaching specialist, Ed Silvoso, and others from his team. * If you are from outside the area, each evening you will join a REAL family in their Arlington home that has committed to be Lighthouses of prayer. They will be tuning in to a radio broadcast and will pray for their neighbors with Christians all over the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. * If you live in the listening area of KSKY AM 660 or Spanish station KDFT AM 540, you can actually go home and pray for your own neighbors and lead your church to do the same. The broadcast will air from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Monday through Wednesday, May 17-19. The Spanish station will actually go until 9:00 PM! * You understand that reaching your city is not an event, like a radio broadcast or City Reacher School, but it is a process that the Lord takes you through individually designed by "the Presiding Jesus." * The desire to reach your city changes from a concept to a vision of hope with experience to back it up. * TIP for pastors who live in the Greater Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. If you are not prepared to turn out your May 19, Wednesday night service so that people can listen to the radio in their homes, use your service time to link up to the radio broadcast. Listen for 50 minutes from 7:00 PM to 7:50 PM and then invite those attending to prayerwalk the homes and businesses around your church facility together! They will come back excited and some will have testimonies to share! CITY REACHER SCHOOLS - Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex - MAY 14-19 Two City Reacher Schools, one in English and one in Spanish and both hosted by Ed Silvoso's Harvest Evangelism, will be held in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex May 14-19. Spanish- Dan Aleman with Oracion Explosiva, as well as Carlos and Gloria Ramos of Fort Worth, are working hard on the Spanish School, which will take place at Christ for the Nations Friday evening and all day Saturday, May 14-15. The cost is $20 per person and $10 for spouse if you register by TODAY. The cost goes to $30 per person and $10 for spouse after May 5. Call 972-216-7728 for more information or 1-800-835-7979 to register. (A 3% surcharge will be added if you register by credit card.) English- The English School will be Monday through Wednesday, May 17-19, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 5415 Matlock, in Arlington. The church is located two intersections south of I-20 at the corner of Matlock Road and Green Oaks. Pastor Tim Wright reports that Arlington pastors have been praying together under Arlington City Ministries for over 8 years. They are now meeting with a vision to reach their city for Christ. Tim Tremaine reports that over 600 Lighthouses of Prayer have already been launched through Pray Arlington, and they will host participants in both City Reacher Schools Monday through Wednesday evenings as Lighthouses of Prayer are linked by radio to extend a canopy of prayer over the entire Metroplex. Do everything you can to attend and bring a large delegation from your city. You will receive grace and faith to reach your community for Christ. The cost is $59 or $79 for couples. (If you order by MasterCard or Visa a 3% surcharge will be added.) Call 1-800-835-7979 to register. Arlington Motel Information: Best Western - (817) 784-9490 at I-20 and Cooper LaQuinta - (817) 467-7756 at I-20 and Matlock UPDATE ON BEDFORD FIRST METHODIST CHURCH BURNING There's not a congregation that I know of anywhere that is more committed to prayer evangelism. FUMC is showing Ed Silvoso's video series each Wednesday night, and That None Should Perish is required reading. Four hundred families purchased Ed's book and the church office sent out another 500 copies so that each family owns one. The evening before the church was burned, the pastor, Dr. Dean Posey, gave an invitation to the members to sign up to be Lighthouses of Prayer. Early the next morning fires were started in five different locations on the premises to cover up the theft of computer equipment and their safe containing Sunday's offerings. Their sanctuary and offices were destroyed. It will be approximately one year before their building is ready for use again. So what has happened since then? They are meeting at the L. D. Bell School Auditorium in Bedford. They have just been offered free office space. They only have to cover utilities. The first Sunday in the school facility, 100 more people signed up to be Lighthouses of Prayer. They continue to show Ed's video series on Wednesday nights, and their entire staff will attend the CITY REACHER SCHOOL in Arlington May 15-17. Ed Silvoso will speak in their church on May 16. DEAN IS MORE DETERMINED THAN EVER THAT GOD WANTS THEM TO REACH THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS FOR CHRIST. Realize that this is Alice Patterson's opinion here, but I believe that sometimes we understand what the Lord really sees as important simply by watching the opposition. I'm not going to give Satan glory by detailing his activities to you, but if I did, YOU COULD SEE HOW VITALLY IMPORTANT THE CITY REACHER SCHOOLS SEEM TO BE. I'm not someone who is on the highest hills trying to defend them from the onslaught of the enemy. I BELIEVE THE BEST DEFENSE IS A GOOD OFFENSE. And the body of Christ coming together to reach their city, actually putting their feet in their own neighborhoods asking God to touch those who live around them, is where God is working to prevail against the gates of hell. SO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS to come to the City Reacher Schools and let's give Satan a black eye together! ***Sacred Assembly in Austin - September 18, 1999 Mark your calendar for a time of prayer and repentance for our state on the South steps of the Capitol in Austin on Saturday, September 18 at 10:00 a.m. In preparation for our time together, please ask the Lord if He would have you send intercessors into Austin to pray.
