Our meetings are being held in Washington, DC and are scheduled around the National Day of Prayer events in our nation's capitol. Please pray for our leader, David Bryant, and for the new formation and vision that only God's Spirit can give us. May the NPC be given the gift of partnering the Holy Spirit as he guides and guards and grows the prayer movement. ________________________________________>>> AN URGENT CALL TO REPENTANCE ON MAY 5, 1999 >From: "Lonny Bringham" The Lord is calling the body of Christ to a National Day of Repentance on May 5, 1999. This is the day prior to the National Day of Prayer. The Church is responsible for many of the problems in America. Our country is spiritually and morally bankrupt. We must repent in many areas. We will provide your church and community materials for this "National Day of Repentance". The following is a national statement of public confession. The purpose of this statement is to call the Body of Christ to repentance throughout the United States and to use this public confession to unify us in our repentance. This is used with permission from Love Lubbock, Texas, who originally ran a full page add in their local newspaper as a public apology to their community. The pastors of 30 churches were represented and their signatures were displayed publicly. We will be providing additional materials in the next few weeks. If your heart is grieved over the current condition of the Church and America and you are urged to participate in the National Day of Repentance, then contact the home office of Prayer Summit Ministry. We have other resources to help your church and community, experience the power of God through the National Day of Repentance. Who: The Body of Christ What: The National Day of Repentance When: May 5, 1999 Why: To Fuel the National Day of Prayer & bring healing to the Church and America Where: Homes, Churches and State Capitols How: Utilizing two main documents: 1. "Preamble to the Constitution of the US" Invoking God's blessing for each state 2. "Statement of Public Confession" Admitting our failure as the body of Christ The Vision: The call to repentance for The Church and America. Including personalrepentance, corporate repentance in churches and in each of the 50 state capitols. The call to repentance for the Church and America with a three-fold strategy 1. Individual and personal repentance in homes across America. 2. Corporate repentance in churches, including a repentance service on May 5, 1999. 3. Repentance in each of the 50 States at each state capitol. The Need: Mobilization for personal repentance. Mobilization for churches to participate in Corporate Repentance. Mobilization to gather intercessors at each of the 50 State Capitols. What do I do next: Enroll to participate in personal repentance. Enroll your church to participate and hold a repentance service on May 5th Help find intercessors who will meet at their state capitol. Contact the home office of Prayer Summit Ministry. The Cost: Your time and a broken, contrite heart The Results: Widespread repentance and brokeness in the hearts of believers throughout America. Healing of the Body of Christ. Appropriate preparation for the National Day of Prayer. National Repentance in each of the 50 States Questions: 1. Have you personally hindered the outpouring of God's spirit in your life? 2. The Church has failed to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ? 3. The Church needs denominational and racial healing? 4. Does you heart grief over lost souls? 5. Are you desperate to see God bring revival? 6. Are you willing to do anything to evangelize the world you live in? Statement of Public confession for the National Day of Repentance May 5, 1999 With this statement we who represent various Christian fellowships in our city, publicly confess that we have failed to demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ toward one another in ways in which our community has been able to see. We purpose to turn from the practices and attitudes that have brought this failure about and commit ourselves to pray and to work together to create an atmosphere for revival in our city. It is our deep desire that each one in our community might know, by our love, that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the solution to all of our needs. We invite our community to watch for the proofs of what we say as we show our community ... how we love one another. ...at all times with all kinds of prayer. Ephesians 6:18 (Adapted from Love Lubbock, Texas with permission) Please contact the home office of Prayer Summit Ministry if you have interest in participating in this much needed "National Day of Repentance". The focus is to have this group pray for each other through out the year. This is my second year to be involved in NDP and a breakfast for this reason. The Lord has laid on My heart that this sharing of prayer supplication is necessary for a spiritual renewal to take place in Atlanta. The walls of separation among denominations must be broken in order to allow the Holy Spirit to move freely. Since last year we have elected a new Governor and for the first time ever we have a Governor that is attending our observance. For the first time ever we have a Governor that is willing to be counted as a believer. This is significant in the spiritual life of the State of Georgia. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to bring renewal to Atlanta and the State of Georgia. God bless you and all you do! Curt Chandler __________________________________________________>>> NATIONAL DAY OF RPAYER, ILLINOIS >From: CGDunne@aol.com Phil I am so excited, Mike Madigan, the Speaker of the Illinois House of Representatives sent a copy of a bill I had submitted in early February. We asked that the first Thursday of May be designated a STATE day of prayer to coinside with the National Day of Prayer. It was passed and is effective immediately. It is very exciting. This will help open doors at City Halls, county Buildings etc. Praise God from whom all blessings flow, Claudia Dunne (NDP - IL) _______________________________________________>>> GREATER CONNECTICUT PASTORS PRAYER SUMMIT From: "Craig Turley" Dear Brother Phil: Greetings to you! I read with excitement the recent news of your full-time commitment to the Pastors Prayer Network and related ministries. This is an invaluable work of cross-pollination, dissemination, and facilitation of the ever growing prayer, unity and revival movement here in our Nation. You are certainly playing a key role in 'sheperding' what the Lord is raising up in our midst. We "esteem you highly in love for your works sake" for it truly is a "labor of love" that you are performing. May the Lord continue to bless both you, your family and the great ministry to which you have been called... If both time and space allow I would humbly ask that you would include a request for Intercessory Prayer for the upcoming Greater Connecticut Pastors Prayer Summit scheduled for May 17th thru 19th 1999. This will be the very first Prayer Summit coordinated for the State of Connecticut and we are anticipating much response from Pastors throughout the state. As you are well aware from personal experience the 'spiritual environment' created when men gather purely for the purpose pursuing God, to worship Him and lavish praise upon Him, to "seek Him while He may be found", having no other agendas or objectives - this time appointed to meet with God will produce radical transformation and renewal in the hearts, lives and ministries of every Pastor in attendance. May the Lord do so for the Pastors of Connecticutt. Please pray that the Lord will call those whom He will, that they will, to a man, obey that call and that each will be rewarded with a life-changing encounter with the Spirit of God. Pray also that the Lord will give great grace and favor to the two facilitators - Rev. Bob Yawberg from Ft. Wayne, IN. and myself in providing gentle and Spirit-led 'hands off' leadership for this special Summit. As this Summit is bathed in prayer, upheld in intercession, and undergirded by the hearfelt petitions of many we can be assured of a powerful move of God in the State of Connecticut. Thank you again Phil for the Network, my prayers are with you... Your Brother, Rev. Craig S. Turley, SW Regional Representative, International Renewal Ministries __________________________________________________>>> RE: PASTORS OF SMALLER CHURCHES >From: CEAIEDUCA@aol.com >From: Pastors Network - Covina ( VICIM@aol.com) Co-laborers, please remember Pastors of Smaller Churches in your prayers! They need our prayer support as they endeavor to be the light to their communities! They need our prayers and encouragement as each an every day they are confronted with problems and situations in their congregations as well as in the home with the children! They do not have a large staff to delegate the burden to as in large churches, but they and the Lord share the burdens. The light is burning bright by committed men and women of God who in spite of all the obstacles they challenge refuse to let go of the calling of God in their lives! As we pray for the lost in America, let's also pray for the pastors of the smaller churches as they, too, need to be encouraged! Dr. Michael McKinneym Th.D. - World for Jesus International / WFJI@aol.com __________________________________________________>>> PRAYING FOR OUR HOST NATIONS >From: BergelFam@aol.com Thanks so much for including the Native American prayer focus from IFA's On Watch In Washington... We are now including a NIFA (Natives Interceding for America) focus in the monthly First Friday prayer and fasting newsletter, and have a growing NAPA (Native American Prayer Alert) e-mail loop growing. Anyone can join this NAPA prayer network by contacting IFA at usapray@aol.com. I am partnering with a number of Native pastors and leaders and we pass along periodic prayer requests. Little by little, it is staring to feel like we are Intercessors for the whole of America, inclusing our Indian first nations. Again, thanks for the inclusion, and for the vital work you are doing, Gary Bergel, President, Intercessors For America __________________________________________________>>> NPPN: PRAYING FOR NEW CHURCHES--->NEW CHRISTIANS! I am part of a church plant effort that began only 8 weeks ago with 8 people in the city of Chicago, in a very GenX area of the city(Belmont & Clark). We meet Sunday nights in an apartment for dinner, worship, study of the Word and prayer ministry time at the end, usually from 5pm - 9pm. This last Sunday, we packed the apartment out with 35 people, mostly in their early to mid 20's. There is such a fire in this group and a desire to see God move in this city and in the lives of our peers it is contagious. Who said this Generation were "busters"?? God is raising up an army of displaced young people, punks, artists, former homosexuals, ravers etc...! Please pray for us that God would send leaders and mentors to help disciple the new Believers and that God would cover us with a sheild of protection as we are dealing with many demonic forces. I am a young, soon-to-be pastor and would appreciate any wisdom that the seasoned have to offer. God Bless! Keith Stryker --->NPPNote: Church planting is often an ignored dimension of evangelism. I'm writing to you today to invite you to join others from all over the Chicagoland area in a Nightwatch for Chicago on Friday, April 30th from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m.. We'll be meeting on the 21st floor of the Prudential Building at 130 East Randolph (the offices of Peoples Energy-the gas company). Parking is available in the Monroe Street Parking Garage and we'll meet between 6:45 and 7:00 at the security desk inside the building. The purpose of this Nightwatch is to join believers from all over the Chicagoland area in spending an extended time before God to worship Him and listen to His heart for our city-and then to intercede accordingly. We want to watch and wait according to Habakkuk 2:1: "I will stand on my guard post and station myself on the rampart; and I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me." The desire to meet in this way was birthed through coming into contact with others who have been praying for Chicago. Many of us feel very isolated-it seems like we may be among only a small handful of believers crying out to God for this city. But the truth of the matter is that there are many, many people all over the Chicagoland area who are hungry to see a new Chicago fire-a fire of God that will sweep this area with the fires of repentance and revival, fires of healing and restoration, fires of purification and strength for the Body of Christ. It's time for us to come together in unity and cry out to Him with one voice for HIS kingdom to come and HIS will to be done here in the Chicago area. Many of you have been involved in special prayer efforts throughout the month of April; it has been a month of "crisis intercession"! In fact, I am attaching a list of "Prayer Suggestions for the Chicago Region" which was put together by Donna and Kevin Claffey, who lead the Friends of the Bridegroom Nightwatch. This list does a beautiful job of detailing key prayer burdens for the Chicagoland area. What better way could there be to cap off this month than to join together with other believers to corporately lift these burdens before our Bridegroom, Lord and King? Blessings, Kathryn Kircher, 817 S. Highland, Oak Park, IL 60304 / 708/383-19992 / "I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." Psalm 27:13 __________________________________________________>>> NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER >From: SUSETAVET@aol.com Dear Pastors & Intercessors: I gain a lot of encouragement reading everyone's prayer requests & info about what the Lord is doing in other cities. I would like to ask you to pray for me as I have been asked to coordinate & organize our National Day of Prayer Event for our City. We have had an event every year, but it has never been well attended & mostly done by Christian School Children. I am working with a committee this year of 3 pastors (Assembly of God, Evangelical Free & Southern Baptist) & one Administrator from one of our Christian Schools (She is from the Nazarene church). The evening event that we are planning seems to be the heart of the Lord for our city & we have all been able to work so well together as we listen to the concerns of each person. We have rented the community theater for the event. It only holds 500. We are expecting it to fill up & maybe even overflow! Please pray for those who come: to understand the importance of prayer as a "regular" part of their life. In two weeks following this event, we have our regular County Prayer Gathering. It is a busy month here in our city! I would ask you to pray with us to have a full gathering of the Lord's people come out for prayer this second time also. Unity of the Brethren is our goal...to see the prayer of Jesus from John 17 answered. Thank you, Susan __________________________________________________>>> DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TEXAS- >From: PRAYTX@aol.com If there ever there was a time to increase prayer for the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, the time is now. As you know, there will be a City Reacher School there May 14-17. Dean Posey, pastor of First United Methodist of Bedford has played a prominent leadership role on the Convening Committee of pastors which is hosting the CRS. The attack of the enemy has been fierce against pastors and their spouses who are giving leadership to this endeavor. This is the latest and most blatant. Please pray for Dean Posey and the congregation at FUMC. This is a prayer evangelism congregation. Each family has Ed Silvoso's book, "That None Should Perish." They are studying the videos and are launching Lighthouses of Prayer. A special reconciliation time with the founding pastor and the denomination were planned for May. For these and other reasons this congregation is a threat to the one who is trying to blind the eyes of the lost in Bedford. Although this was a tremendous shock, we must remember that the best defense is a good offense. The attack is to make them stop the work of reaching the lost and begin to go on the defensive rather than the offensive. Now is the time to move forward. Please increase your prayers for Dean, Olen Griffing, Dan Aleman, Carlos and Gloria Ramos, Jim Mulkey, and other pastors in the Metroplex. Please pray especially for Arlington pastors Tim Wright, Dwight McKissic and others who will be hosting the CRS in Arlington. Please pray for Tim Tremaine, Arlington policeman who heads up Pray Arlington, the entity that is launching Lighthouses of Prayer. Also pray for Ed Silvoso and his team. "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their life to the death." Rev. 12:11. Let's agree in prayer together right now. "Dear Father, we come to Your Throne of Grace on behalf of Dean Posey and the congregation at FUMC of Bedford. Thank You for their steadfastness, for their obedience. We ask You to restore all that was damaged and more. We trust You, Lord, to turn the tables on the enemy and use for good what he meant for evil. I pray that FUMC will be more motivated and committed than ever to see Satan's hold broken over the people of Bedford. I pray that more damage will be done to the kingdom of darkness than was done to their church facility. "Lord, we realize that THIS IS WAR. We're trusting You to fight our battles. We lift up the mighty name of Jesus over Bedford, over Arlington, over the entire Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We ask You to prove Yourself strong in this day. Father, I ask You to call Your people to prayer and to action. May there be a moving out together and a reaping of this great harvest. We resist the temptation to stop the work to fight the enemy. We ask You for every man, woman, boy, and girl in the Metroplex, Lord. May they know Your compassion and Your power and may we see revival and harvest together in Jesus' Name. We thank You that You have not given us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and a sound mind. We're trusting You to strengthen Dean and his congregation as well as others who are moving against the gates of hell. I ask You, Lord, to send out the call for strong intercession. Thank You for those who continually stand in the gap. Protect them, we pray, in this day of battle, and MAY YOUR NAME BE GLORIFIED over the Metroplex in the coming days. In Jesus' Name." Thanks for calling intercessors to stand in prayer during this critical time. Believing with you for breakthrough in the Metroplex, Alice Patterson __________________________________________>>> HOW ABOUT YOU...YOUR PPG...YOUR CITY... ? - Tell us how we can give praise and thanks for what the Lord has done - ? ? - Tell us how we can join you in prayer for your region - ? =============================================================== Phil Miglioratti National Pastors' Prayer Network / US 715 East Golf Road, Suite 205, Schaumburg, IL 60173 Phone= 847-884-0007 Fax= 847-884-0928 http://www.missionamerica.org/prayernetwork.html http://www.homestead.com/nppn --->Unless clearly identified as "Personal To _____" or "Confidential" all information and comments sent to phil@nppn.org will be considered for use in a future NPPN Update. --->Send responses and information as "text" (rather than in a specific program). --->Copyrighted 1999.
