1. PASTOR PHIL'S PRAYER LETTER

You may have noticed this line missing recently:

Terri Hallberg ~ Administrative Services
Terri suddenly passed away last week.  Complications from a blood clot. She was a single woman who was used quietly of God to serve me, first as my secretary the last few years at The Woodfield Church then in her spare time as secretary at New Hope Community Church in Palatine, IL.  Her new "boss" Pastor Joe LaCognata was gracious to me by allowing her to serve the NPPN.  She will be missed as both a neighbor (she lived in the same condo complex Carol and I live in) and an associate in ministry.

Take a moment to thank God for those who quietly serve you. Then find a way to let them know how much you appreciate them.  Every member of the Body is vital.
 - - - -

As always, my thanks for those who pray for me and this ministry.  God is allowing us to serve the Body in a variety of ways:
-Teaching workshops to train Pastors and Prayer Leaders, such as, "How To Lead Prayer. Anytime. Anywhere."
-Preaching on "How To Become A House of Prayer"
-Networking city leaders through One Great City (Chicago) and City Impact Roundtable (national gathering of city reachers)
-Strategizing for national impact with Mission America, national Prayer Committee, Promise Keepers, and others...

Current prayer focus:
-May the Lord prepare both Carol (my wife of 32 years) and me for when (September) she begins to work alongside of me. She concludes 20 years as Director of Children of the Shepherd Preschool this summer.
-Discernment to know which opportunities to accept. For example, an invitation has come to speak at an International Conference in Africa in January, 2003.
-Wisdom about raising financial support.  Two sizable gifts launched our ministry but I need to know how God plans to continue providing daily bread, and what my responsibility is in that process.
-May all of our prayer driven efforts result in lost people finding Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

Thanks for partnering!

Pastor Phil

2.  PrayWOLRD!02
>From: Usprayercenter@cs.com

In 1995 God gave us an instruction to launch "PrayUSA!" which was 40-days of prayer and fasting for revival and spiritual awakening in the U.S. The first PrayUSA! was in 1997. Later, CBN News declared that it was the largest fasting and prayer initiative in history.

Today, it is called PrayWORLD, and involves the nations of the earth all praying together from Ash Wednesday to Palm Sunday. Please give close attention to the following letter from PrayWORLD international coordinator, Dr. Ben Jennings with Campus Crusade Int'l.

Eddie & Alice Smith ,U.S. PRAYER CENTER
http://www.usprayercenter.org

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Greetings, Christian Leader!

In less than three weeks, God willing,  PrayWORLD!02 will get under way for millions of Christian believers.  The 40-day global prayer  covers the Season of Lent, February 13 to March 24 (Ash Wednesday to Palm Sunday) on the global Christian calendar.

The  PrayWORLD!02 daily Calendar is available on internet at http://www.prayworld.org.  Beside English, it is also ready in Chinese--traditional and simplified, and Tagalog translations.  Spanish, Korean and Japanese are in process, thanks to Martin Chow and Jorge Romero. Please be free to aggressively translate, print, distribute, or forward the Calendar widely.  Help get it out to the global Body of Christ.  The potential is enormous.  The need is vast.  Promised Biblical answers are
"beyond all that we can ask or imagine"  (Ephesians 3:20).

THEOLOGY:    Massive prayer does not help to persuade God.  Rather, it provides many more "avenues of invasion" for the intervention of God in human affairs!!

IDEAS:      A huge portion of the Body of Christ will unite in Great Commission praying if they know about it.  So send news of the Calendar to your email and mailing lists.  Enclose it in prayer letters.  Spread it on the pages of your publications.  Announce and use it in radio and television releases.  Let us flood the earth with Jesus!

To enrich and transform your use of the Calendar, order copies of "Seek God for the City" from <www.waymakers.org>.  The price range is abundantly worth the cost (from $2 US for single copies to $1.30 each in quantities of 250 or more).

RECENT COMMENTS:
(Denominations) - "Thank you for this beautiful piece.  I am planning to forward it to a lot of our people world wide.  I value the type of prayer mobilization you are engaged in."
"Wonderful news, Ben.  Thanks for all you're doing.  God is using you.  Blessings."

(Networks)       "Thank you for the information.  I have sent it out to my state (Washington) listing.  Watching on the Wall with you."
"Praise God for keeping us going.  God's man is 'immortal' until God's work through him is completed here on earth."
"I will be joining with all of you in prayer and passing this on to other believers as well.  Keep pressing on"

APPEAL:        Invite the Church to unite in prayer before the Throne of Grace for this "Kairos" Year!

Yours in the Timeless, Global Love of Jesus, Ben Jennings

3. PRAYER FOCUS: ARIZONA
>From: "Grover C. Reid III" <gcreid@ameritech.net>

General State History

Traces of early agricultural civilizations are found throughout the state. High, almost inaccessible cliff dwellings still stand in silent evidence of another prehistoric race. Even the vast irrigation system surrounding Arizona's capital city, Phoenix, follows an ancient pattern of canals used to irrigate the Hohokam farmlands with water from the Gila and Salt Rivers.

>From tree rings studied, we know that from 1276 to 1299 A.D. there was a great drought which ended the prehistoric civilization. When Columbus discovered America, Arizona was inhabited by ancestors of present day Indians. The written history of Arizona began when the Spaniards sent exploration parties northward from Mexico. The first was a Franciscan priest named Marcos de Niza, who entered the territory in 1539.

Other Spanish missionaries followed and established missions to bring Christianity to the Indians. Tumacacori Mission, north of Nogales, was founded by Padre Kino at the center of an Indian settlement. This mission is now a National Monument. Padre Kino also laid the foundations for San Xavier del Bac Mission on the outskirts of today's Tucson, still used for regular services by the Tohono O'Odham Indians who live nearby.

After Kino's death, Spanish development of this area came to a halt. In 1821 Mexico declared its independence from Spain and eventually went to war with the United States. This war ended in 1848, and the land north of the Gila River became United States territory. In 1853 the rest of the area was acquired by the Gadsen Purchase. Then the great westward movement of our early pioneers began, and Arizona entered the phase of its history which has provided so much story material for books and movies.

Men came West to seek their fortunes - adventurers, prospectors, farmers, businessmen, builders. To protect them against the Indians who fought fiercely to keep back this change in their land, the army also came and built its forts. Only the most brave and hardy pioneers came until the last of the Indian uprisings were finished and final peace won in 1886. Development of the state then surged forward.

Back in the ages of its creation, there had been formed in Arizona land great deposits of gold, silver, copper and other minerals which were now uncovered by the prospectors. Lusty new towns sprang up near the mines.

Great fortunes were made and lost, sometimes in a single 24 hours. While prospectors were "striking it rich," other pioneers saw their fortunes of the future in another aspect of Arizona land aspect of Arizona land. Farmers cultivated crops along rivers and streams as had the Indians before them. Others brought in cattle to roam the range land. Still others saw Arizonans an ideal place to raise sheep.

Law and order were slow to catch up with the sudden growth of the frontier. Bitter gun battles broke out between the cattlemen and sheepmen, each wanting the grazing land and water rights. With the leadership of the pioneers themselves, United States Marshals finally made a peaceful territory of Arizona, where crops, cattle and sheep, as well as mining, all became important in building the future of the state.

In 1912, its lawless, boisterous frontier days behind it, Arizona became the 48th state to join the Union and its modern advance began.

Arizona Prayer Targets

Phoenix, Arizona's capital, is the sixth largest city in the nation and Maricopa County the fastest growing county in the United States. Other cities throughout Arizona are also experiencing rapid growth. When God begins to gather people into a city at a phenomenal rate, one can be sure that He is about to do something glorious. To that end, thousands of intercessors are praying throughout the state. Would you join us in praying for the following prayer targets for Arizona?

1. There is a growing hunger in our churches for God's presence. One example of this is the 500 prayer and worship leaders from across the state who gathered for a morning of "harp and bowl" training, worship, and intercession last Saturday. Pray that God's unique plan for Arizona's worship and prayer leaders will develop and unfold under the Holy Spirit's guidance and that the Church of Arizona will be satisfied with nothing less than His tangible presence.

2. Pray that the Arizona State Legislature will be divinely restrained from hindering the work of God in our state by ungodly legislation. That pending legislation regarding gay rights and abortion be divinely directed. Pray for righteous and persevering leadership in the house and senate.

3. The Hispanic community is growing rapidly in Arizona; the pastors and leaders of the Hispanic churches were united in the past, but their coalition has fallen apart. Pray for renewed unity and relationship building among the Hispanic pastors.

4. Pray that false Mormon doctrine be exposed among the Mormon population and that many will come out of Mormonism as they come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

5. Pray for reconciliation with the Native American population. Pray for spiritual and material provision for those missionaries and Native American pastors and leaders who work the vast and barren reservations; pray that new life, prosperity and hope will spring forth and with it a harvest of souls.

6. Pray for a breaking of the spiritual strongholds that open the door to New Age and other occult practices in Northern Arizona especially in the city of Sedona.

7. Pray for the five-fold ministry leaders to be raised up and to function together. Pray especially that the prophetic will be embraced among apostolic leaders and pastors.

8. Pray that evangelists will rise up in Arizona and that the Church will be infected with a longing to see souls come into the Kingdom.

9. Pray for the continuing development of Pray AZ (our state prayer network in affiliation with SPN); we still need committed coordinators from several counties.

10. Pray specifically for the success of two upcoming conferences: the prophetic conference scheduled for May 10-12 with Cindy Jacobs and Bill Hamon and our annual statewide prayer conference scheduled for June 26-29

4.  911 REMEMBRANCE PROJECT – INTERCESSORS WANTED

>From: Ev Davis <edavis@jesusvideo.org>

Recently, my wife, Alise, and I were asked to be the National Prayer Coordinators for the 911 Remembrance Project.  At the January National Prayer Committee meeting in Wheaton, IL, I gave information and made a request for help in identifying intercessors, especially City Prayer Captains, in the 100 targeted cities.  Let me explain this national evangelistic initiative.

Driven by both the spiritual need and the opportunity to minister to the grief-stricken in New York City following the World Trade Center terrorist attacks, a mini-magazine, Fallen But Not Forgotten, was produced as a tribute with an evangelistic message.  The piece was produced through the Holy Spirit and in much prayer - concept to completion - with 1 million copies ready to hand out in just eight days!

As history has documented, times of crisis often result in a heightened spiritual awareness and openness.  We are living in a kairos - a national teachable moment.  There is an immediacy that has changed the openness of Americans and therefore their response when it comes to evangelism.  The 911 Remembrance Project has been initiated to respond to this moment and need.  The project's goal is to touch 100 million people in 100 cities in a year-long initiative that will launch over the next 100 days.  The desire is to use the 100 days, starting January 1, 2002 to launch the initiative that will lead to personal contact with 100 million people using the Remembrance mini-magazine.  Follow-up will be implemented with those who respond.

Over the next 100 days, churches and Christian organizations are being contacted.  Vision breakfasts will be held explaining the strategy, and national broadcast and print media will help create awareness of the project.  Whenever undertaking an outreach project of this importance, it is wise to use the best tools - and prayer is one of the best tools. Prayer before, during, and following the distribution of the mini-magazine, Fallen But Not Forgotten, is critical.  Jesus encourages us to ask.  He reminds us that we can do nothing without Him.  He asks us to talk to Him, the "Lord of the Harvest," about laborers (Matthew 9:37-38).  Also, in Luke 19:41, Jesus wept over Jerusalem, as He does for each of our cities. Therefore, we must weep with prayers for the lost in our cities as well.

Each targeted city will have a director and a committee.  A Prayer Captain is part of each committee, so that prayer will be the lifeblood and covering for all aspects of the project.  Prayer will make the difference in this project!  Each of our prayer ministries has praying people in the various targeted cities around our country. Would you help us locate intercessors for the 911 Remembrance Project?  Could you also join us in praying at 9:11 morning and evening? Please contact Ev and Alise Davis, National Prayer Coordinators for this project at: 909-379-7717; or c/o JESUS Video Project, 275 W. Hospitality Ln., San Bernardino, CA 92408; or e-mail at: edavis@jesusvideo.org. Prayerfully Yours,

Ev Davis

6.  UNCOMMON PRAYER ~ FIVE WONDERFUL PROMISES

>From: "Bob Tolliver" <lifeunlimited@myexcel.com>
>Copyright February, 2002, Life Unlimited Ministries

We learned more than anything else that God is faithful to guide us correctly if we have already chosen to be obedient, no matter where it might take us.  You see, when you've made that choice, then you can rest your case on five wonderful promises . . . . .

1.  "The steps of a good man are established by the Lord."  (Psalm 37:23)

2.  "Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart."  (Psalm 37:4)

3.  "He who began the good work in you will continue it until the day of Christ."  (Philippians 1:6)

4.  "It is God Who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."  (Philippians 2:13)

5.  "Faithful is He Who calls you, and He will also bring it to pass."  (I Thessalonians 5:24)

--->NPPNote: Provide a focus to each of the 5 sections, such as, 1) humility and cleansing; 2) blessing and praising, 3) identifying and thanking God for the work He has given you to do; 4) inviting the renewed work of the Holy Spirit in your life and ministry for the Lord; 5) praying forward by proclaiming God’s faithfulness to bring His work to completion. Use a song to transition to the next scripture focus.

7.  A GOOD WORD FOR PRAYER WARRIORS

>From: Ras Robinson <fullness@airmail.net>
>At: http://www.fullnessonline.org/fcc.htm

Stand firm in your battle.  You are doing well but I want to bring you higher.  I want you to soar on the warm and powerful wind of my Spirit.  Let me live within your heart with full expression through every part of you.  In giving up your life in this manner you gain mine within.  Let me stand firm through you in your battle. Battles will come and go but I am always the same in every circumstance.  I am the overcoming force you need.  Let me fight your battles.

Humble yourself and submit your anxiety and fears to me.  I say unto you, pray in faith believing and I will answer you.  Have I not done this before for you?  Through all the battles you encounter, I am teaching you to stand firm in turbulent and uncertain times.  I am teaching you to pray and lean on me.  When you lean on your own strength, you are weak.  But when you lean on me and yield to me in your weakness I make you strong.  In this way you confound the enemy.  And in your standing firm you will become stronger and stronger in me.  It is my life in you that will take the day.  Stand firm in your battle.

Ephesians 6:10-18  "Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might.  Put on the full armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.  For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.  Therefore, take up the full armor of God, that you may be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm."

8.  HOW TO PRAY FOR PASTOR AND HIS FAMILY
>At: www.promisekeepers.org

We should have this general attitude in praying for our pastor:

"Therefore encourage one another, and build up one another, just as you also are doing. But we request of you brethren, that you appreciate those who diligently labor among you, and have charge over you in the Lord and give you instruction, and that you esteem them very highly in love because of their work. Live in peace with one another." (I Thessalonians 5:11-13).

"I thank my God in all remembrance of you, always, offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all, in view of your participation in the gospel..."
(Philippians 1:3-5).

(Note:  You can pray the following Scriptures for your pastor by putting his name (or his family member's name) into the verses where appropriate and making the verse a specific request for Pastor.)

Pray For:
His relationship with God.
That he would be a man after God's own heart."...a man after My heart, who will do all My will." (Acts 13:22). "As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for You, O God." (Psalm 42:1).

That he would be a man of the Word. "O how I love your law! It is my meditation all the day." (Psalm 119:97). Let the word of Christ richly dwell within you, with all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with thankfulness in your heart to God." (Colossians 3:16). "Your word have I treasured in my heart, that I may not sin against you." (Psalm 119:11).

That he would allow the Lord to guide and direct his every step.
"The steps of a man are established by the Lord." (Psalm 37:23)
That he would experience a growing and deepening relationship with the Lord in prayer. Delight yourself in the Lord; and He will give you the desires of your hearts." (Psalm 37:4)
"O God, You are my God; I shall seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You, in a dry and weary land where there is no water...My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me." (Psalm 63:1,8)

That he would be a spirit filled man of faith and love.
"For this reason, I bow my knees before the Father...that He would grant you...to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend...and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God." (Ephesians 3:14-19)

That the Lord will give him good health, strength and endurance.

His family relationships
That the relationships would be:

Loving, unselfish, respectful, understanding, honoring guiding, and harmonious.
"Husbands love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her." (Ephesians 5:25)
"You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way."
(I Peter 3:7a)
"Nevertheless let each individual among you love his own wife, even as himself; and let the wife see to it that she respect her husband." (Ephesians 5:33)
Children obey your parents in the Lord...honor your father and mother..."
(Ephesians 6:4)

That the family members would be a source of joy and blessing to one another.
"The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice, and he who begets a wise son will be glad in him." (Proverbs 23:24)
"...a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised...Her children rise up and bless her; her husband also, and he praises her..." (Proverbs 31:30b)
A righteous man who walks in his integrity...How blessed are his sons after him." (Proverbs 20:7)

God will protect his family, giving them good health, his joy and peace in all circumstances.

His ministry

That he would be devoted to prayer and the ministry of the word. "But we will devote ourselves to prayer, and to the ministry of the Word." (Acts 6:4)
That he would intercede for his congregation in prayer and instruct them.
Pray that he will know the hearts of his people and their needs and be able to pray for them and minister to them accordingly. "Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by ceasing to pray for you; but I will instruct you in the good and right way." (I Samuel 12:23). "For God...is my witness as to how unceasingly I make mention of you always in my prayers...
(Romans 1:9, 10a)
That he would have a fruitful ministry. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you." (John 15:16)  "And we proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, that we may present every man complete in Christ." (Colossians 1:28)
That he will be able to handle with grace and patience, the many responsibilities he has.
That he will be sensitive to the leading of the Lord both as he prepares and as he speaks, resulting in the Holy Spirit speaking to us through the message.
That he will have a strong, close, harmonious working relationship with those in leadership.
That the Lord will give him insights into the solutions for problems.
That he will know how to counsel those who come to him for advice and help.
That he would equip the saints for service and discipleship. And He gave some as...pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of service to the building up of the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11,12). And the things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, these entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also." (II Timothy 2:2)
That he would be protected from the evil one. "Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified...that we may be delivered from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith. But the Lord is faithful, and He will strengthen and protect you from the evil one."
II Thessalonians 3:1-3
Pray for the church family's relationship with him and his family.
Pray that the congregation will pray regularly for him and his family.
Pray that the congregation will respect and guard as much as possible his time and his family, especially in the early mornings, evenings and weekends (i.e. not interrupt him unless absolutely necessary).
Pray that the congregation will not impose standards on his children they do not expect from other children (i.e. letting them have room to be "kids").

Scripture-Based Prayers to Pray for your Pastor

1. I thank You, Father, that Your eyes are on my shepherd and Your ears are attentive to my pastor's prayer and Your face is against those who plot evil against my pastor (1 Peter 3:12). For I know that in all things You work for the good of
________(insert your pastor's name) who loves you (Romans 8:28). Who can accuse this pastor who is daily interceded for by Christ Jesus? (Romans 8:33-2-34).
Therefore, in all things my pastor is more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37). Thank You, God.

2. Lord, I pray for discernment in exposing any schemes of the enemy against my pastor. Show our congregation how to pray against all powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of darkness in heavenly realms. And, Lord, protect us as we wage warfare on behalf of our pastor. (Ephesians 6:11,12).

3. Father, I thank You that no weapons formed against my pastor will prosper. Every tongue raised against my shepherd will be cast down. Rumors and gossip will be turned aside. For ________ will be still before You Lord and  will wait on You. My pastor will dwell in the shadow of the Most High God and will be delivered from terror, darts of doubt, and diseases (Psalm 91:5,6). Set Your angels about my pastor (Psalm 91:11) and no power of the enemy shall harm ________ (Luke 10:19).
Thank God forevermore!

4. Lord, let ________ have a discerning mind to prioritize the precious minutes in the day. Let my pastor discern what is most important and be guarded against the tyranny of the urgent (2 Corinthians 11:14; 1 John 4:1).

5. Father, allow my pastor to glory only in the cross (Galatians 6:14). Keep my pastor from pride and pity. Let the cross be his reason for ministry.

6. Jesus keep my pastor holy in every way (1 Peter 1:6). Protect my shepherd from seducing spirits especially when he is tired and hard-pressed. Give_________ comrades to help protect him, and to share with him personal holiness (James 4:7). As my pastor draws near to You, draw near my pastor (James 4:8).

7. I pray that the eyes of my pastor may be enlightened to know the hope to which we are called and know the riches of our glorious inheritance in the saints. Let my pastor know the incomparable great power which is in us who believe (Ephesians 1:18,19). Let ________ see the full revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:12). Place in him a desire to know Christ and the power of His resurrection (Philippians 3:10).

8. Lord, I lift up the hands of my pastor and his family. Place them in the shelter of the Most High to rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, You are their refuge and fortress. You will preserve their family time. You will cover their home. Your faithfulness will meet their financial needs in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4.19). You will command Your angels to guard them as they travel and win the lost. . You have said, "I will be with (them) in trouble, I will deliver (them) and Honor (them). With long life, I will satisfy (them) and show (them) My salvation" (Psalm 91:15,16). In Jesus' name I cancel all assignments of the enemy against them.

9. In Jesus's name I speak to church hurts, abuse, and ungrateful forces to move. I speak to mountains of criticism and inordinate expectations to be cast into the sea. I speak to stress, excessive phone counseling, and fatigue to be cast into the sea, and I believe very need, vision and dream of ______'s will be completed (Mark 11:22-24;
Philippians 4:19).

10. Forgive those who hurt _______ and speak against him, and may my pastor walk in forgiveness (Ephesians 4:32-5:1). Guard my pastor from futile thinking (Ephesians 4:17) and vain imagination. Let every thought be taken captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:3-5).

11. In Jesus' name I bind the fear of failure and the fear of humankind (John 14:1). Let _______'s confidence not be eroded by the daily resistance to the gospel of his vision. Allow my pastor to fear God more than people.

12. Father, heal my shepherd's heart of any grief caused by ministry. Bestow on my pastor a crown of beauty instead of ashes and anoint him with the oil of gladness instead of mourning. Clothe my shepherd with a garment of praise instead of a spirit of depression. I call my pastor an oak of righteousness, a planting of the Lord to display Your splendor (Isaiah 61:1).

13. Keep my pastor in the midst of good and exciting worship. Keep my pastor from the traditions of men and religion which hold a form of godliness, but deny its power (2 Timothy 3:5). Give _______ a vision of heaven (Isaiah 6: Revelation 4).

14. With my shield of faith I cover my shepherd's mind to quench all flaming darts of doubt or vain imagination of mental distractions (Ephesians 6:16; Colossians 2:6-8). Let the mind of Christ be strong in my pastor (1 Corinthians 2:16).

15. Lord, I stand against the enemies of my pastor's prayer life: busyness (Acts 2:4), compulsions, compromise (Acts 5), unnecessary phone calls, chronic counselees, fatigue, sleepiness (Matthew 26:41), appetites, television, late meetings, over-commitments, and doubt. Let nothing hinder ______'s time with You. Let my pastor rise up to seek You (Mark 1:35), pray with other pastors (Acts 1:14), and pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:7). 9.    MORE INFORMATION ABOUT PRAYING FOR PASTORS

>From: milesbennett@juno.com

We noticed the fine note about how to pray for pastors in NPPN mailing of 020110 so thought you'd appreciate knowing about the lots of stuff about praying for preachers and pastors at our web sites and their links:
http://www.angelfire.com/nc/liftup/pray4clergy.html  and also
http://www.kernersville.com/liftup/ministers.html#minister

We began to be especially burdened for pastors in 1988 and began by praying regularly for a number of pastors here in New Jersey. We contemplated writing a booklet about how to pray for pastors but haven't had to do it as we have found a number of resources that were not available in 1988! I praise the Lord for this and recommend that you check out at the web sites above. I've tried to give credit to the authors wherever possible. We just want to get the information out!

Tuesday's meeting was a time of strategic reflection and intercession. International prayer leaders who lead prayer movements in their countries will be joining us for an intensive time of praying on site at some of the city and industry's most spiritually significant places. 15.  UNCOMMON PRAYER: PRAYING THE NAMES OF GOD
>From: "Sharon Ann Barnes" <sharonann@surfbest.net>

My prayer of blessing to you, Lord God, for this season

O Lord, I come before you humbly and call on your name, using the many names that you have given us that represent who you are and desire to be to us and for us.  And it's in your name, O Lord, that I come to bless you!

I bless your name, EL.  I bless you, Lord, with all that you are as the Mighty God for us!  I bless your strength; for you are the Strong One for us!  (Numbers 23:22; Deut. 10:17; Isaiah 9:6-7)

I bless your name, EL ELYON, all that you are as the Sovereign, Lord God Most High.  I bless you for all that you are as the sovereign ruler of the universe for us.  (Gen. 14:20; Psalm 78:35; Daniel 4:34-35; Isaiah 46:9-11)

I bless your name, ELOHIM, the strong, covenant-keeping God who is absolutely committed to us, your creation, your very own, that you would make covenant with us through your Son, making us your very own, your very own "beloved ones".  I bless your faithfulness: that you are and always will be there for us; that you will keep your promises to us; that what you begin, you will complete.  I bless your absolute commitment to us to fulfill all that you have purposed for us from the beginning of time!  (Gen. 1:26; Deut. 10:17)

I bless your name, EL ROI.  You are the God who sees.  I bless your constant
and continual awareness of all that concerns us.  I bless you for how your
eyes are always open to all that touches us, to all the events that surround
us and encompass us.  You never slumber.  You never sleep.  I bless you for
how you are always watching over us.  I bless you for your continual,
watchful care over us!  (Genesis 16; Psalm 139:7-12)

I bless your name, EL SHADDAI, for you are the mighty God of the mountains.
I bless you for the security of your character and nature to take care of
us, nourish us, satisfy us and supply what we need.  I bless you for how you
are fully sufficient for us.  I bless your bounty and all the ways you
nourish your very own and make them fruitful.  (Genesis 17:1-2; 6; 28:3;
35:1)

Baruch hashem adonai!  I bless your name, O Lord God!  And I bless you for
your ownership of us;  your lordship over us; that you are our master and
none other.  You, alone are God!
(II Samuel 7:18-22; Psalm 8; Psalm 97:5; Isaiah 6:1-8)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH, YAHWEH, the great I AM, that you are the great I
AM to us and for us!  I bless you for your continual presence, that you will
never leave us nor forsake us, that you are always and will always be there
for us.  I bless you for how you never change, that you are and always have
been the same and will be the same, for us! (Exodus 6:2-8)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH TSIDKENU, that you are our righteousness.  (Jer.
23:6; 33:16;
II Corinthians 5:21)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH M'KADDESH.  I bless you, Lord God, that you, the
God of peace, makes us wholly clean, through and through, so that we become
all that you have ever intended.  I bless you for the grace that keeps us;
that keeps our whole spirit, soul and body blameless until we meet Jesus
face to face.  (Exodus 31:12-13; I Thessalonians 5:23-24)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH SHALOM.  I bless you for the peace that gives us
wholeness and keeps us in harmony with you.  I bless you for your peace that
provides contentment and satisfaction.  I bless you for your  peace that
will be a gatekeeper to our minds, guarding out fearful and plaguing
thoughts, and a gatekeeper to our hearts, keeping our emotions at bay,
calming our spirits with your continual presence.  (Philippians 4:7;
Colossians 1:19, 20;
Judges 6:24)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH SHAMMAH.  I bless you for your promise of
dwelling with us forever.  I bless you for the presence of your Spirit
living in us, being "at home" with us.  I bless you for your nearness, your
closeness to us, that you are always "present" for us!
(Ezekiel 48:35; I Corinthians 3:16)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH ROPHE.  I bless you that you, the Lord, are our
healer.  I bless you for your restoring power in our bodies, souls, and
spirits. (Exodus 15:26; I Peter 2:24)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH JIREH.  I bless you for your provision for us,
that you will fully take care of us.  I bless you for your willingness and
your ability to meet our every need.
(Genesis 22:14)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH QANNA.  I bless you for your great jealousy over
us as your very own!  I bless you for your love that enables us to love none
other but you; to set you apart fully as God so that you are our first love.
(Exodus 34:12-17; II Cor. 11:2; I John 4: 16, 17; 19)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH ROHI.  I bless you for making us your very own
sheep and that you are our shepherd.  I bless you for your nurture and care
for us; how you lead us and guide us, making sure that we have everything we
need by which to grow. I bless you for how you hold us and carry us in your
arms.  I bless you for your protection over us, guarding us and keeping us
from evil.  I bless you for how you walk with us and talk with us.  I bless
you with your friendship, that you call us "friend"; "loved one".  (Psalms
23; John 10:11; Is. 40:11)

I bless your  name, JEHOVAH NISSI.  I bless you that you, O Lord, yourself
are our deliverer.  You are our salvation, our banner, our victory!  You are
our strength and our song!  I bless you for your strength to overcome.  I
bless you for your song of deliverance.  (Exodus 15:2; 17:15)

I bless your name, JEHOVAH SABAOTH, the Lord of Hosts!  I bless you, for you
alone are where our help comes from.  I bless you for your sovereignty over
all the powers of the universe.  You are the God of Jeshurun riding the
heavens defeating our enemies, saying, "Be destroyed"!   You are the Lord
Almighty for us!  (I Samuel 1:3, 11; 17:42-47; Deut. 33:26-27)

16.    "BEYOND ALL LIMITS” PASTORS CONFERENCE INTERCESSION
>From: praycf@juno.com

70+ Intercessors (on-site and off-site) were praying for the Beyond All Limits Pastor’s Conference January 17th – 19th in Orlando. There were often 20+ intercessors in the prayer room at the same time because many enjoyed it so much they didn’t want to leave. Also, some of the 5000 people who were attending the conference come back to join the prayer. The presence of the Lord was almost constant and very sweet. Both of my five-hour shifts seemed to fly by before I knew it. There was much prophetic intercession. Often when people would come back from the conference and share what the previous speaker said we would be greatly encouraged because the Lord had led us to pray the same thing! Both Vonette and Bill Bright came back on separate occasions to thank all the intercessors and Vonette came back after the conference was over to pray a blessing on us. If you were either an on-site or off-site intercessor please know that those of us there at the end received the blessing both for ourselves and also for you. Vonette also said that the role of the intercessors was as important as that of the speakers and that she extends her thanks to all of you.

17.    PRAY KIDS UPDATE
>From: Praykids@aol.com

Blessings in this tumultuous New Year.  January was a busy and blessed month for Prayer Kids.  The Children's Prayer Conference in O'Fallon went very well for being our first time.  As of Friday night there were 38 kids registered however 50 showed up on Saturday.  The kids loved all the activities and caught on so quickly to prayerwalking, we were all amazed.  I am also grateful to have been able to speak to the parents on Friday evening and share what the Lord has been teaching me about kids and prayer.  I was also most grateful to be able to speak to a group of moms in the Chicago area the next week.  They were very open and serious about teaching their little ones to pray.  Unfortunately on January 27th I was diagnosed with pnuemonia and have been in bed since.  Please pray for health and healing.

For those of you with elementary kids, PrayKids Magazine has asked for articles about kids and prayerwalking.  They prefer articles written by kids.  If you know of any good stories about kids and prayer of any kind please contact me toll free 1-877-744-KIDS or by email.

Praises:
Pray for new Prayer Kids clubs starting in Cincinnati, Ohio - Washington DC -  Orange, CA and possibly O'Fallon Illinois.

Pray for upcoming speaking engagements:
March 1 to a Moms group here in Bloomington
March 9th:  TEACH Convention 2002 in Houston, TX

Pray for possible speaking opportunities in the Fall:  Michigan & Minnesota with Hearts AT Home.

Pray for God's direction for writing opportunities of children's bible studies and a publisher for these materials.

Pray for health for myself and all those involved in Prayer Kids.

God bless you and thank you for being our shield of prayer.
I King 8:56  "Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel, according to all that He promised. There has not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised through His servant Moses." (NKJ)

Our God will not fail us!  In Him,  Jan Merritt, Founder and National Director
