*IF YOU HAVE A CONVICTION ABOUT PRAYER...
From: “mike”
<mhoskins@cfdevotionals.org>
Being
a leader often means going it alone for a time. You have a
conviction
that more time needs to be spent in prayer by your group at
church.
People’s schedules being what they are makes this unpopular with
some
and simply impossible for others. If you are committed to this course
of
action, simply make it known that you will be there 30 minutes early and
anyone
is welcome to join you. You may be the only one there early for a
month.
If you skip once, your ability to sell your conviction of the
importance
of that time will be tarnished. Remain faithful to the call of
God
and watch what happens over time. This simple act of faith may be blessed
beyond your wildest dreams.
Luke 19: 16-17
“And he said to him, ‘Well done, good slave, because you have
been faithful in a very little thing, be in authority
over ten cities.’

Grace
& Peace, Mike

Pastors decided to invite Rev. E. V. Hill to Aurora for a 2
Night Crusade in Aurora in late July. Pray for the steering team that was
formed that thousands will make first time commitments

the Spirit of God will be felt by all Christians and
Searchers during the
month of July.

*PRAYING FOR PASSION
>From: KBertolet@aol.com
The Road Conference in Chicago is one month away, and I am
excited about
how God is working through the conference already. The vision is to
“mobilize students in the greater Chicagoland area to gain
a passion for God
and His world (local, urban, and international).” Please pray with us that
God will awaken and renew a passion for God among students
and young people
in Chicago that will be evident in their career decisions
and involvement in
ministry. Please
pray that through the seminars on many different types of
ministry, God will give people direction and vision for
how he wants to use
them to spread the gospel. The conference is Feb. 18-19, and if you want
more information (or would like to pray with us!), please
e-mail RoadChicago@aol.com, or go to www.TheRoadConference.org.

*WE HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO PRAY
We at Jubilee Christian Center have taken the time to pray
for the needs
that we receive through your newsletter. It has enriched our ministry. We
have recently had a lot of people leave because the turn
our ministry has
taken to meet the needs of the community and not just have
church as usual.
We are now down to about 5 members and the Lord is
bringing in people that
need to be delivered, that need healing and that need to
be set free. We
sometimes look at our numbers and think that it’s a
blessing from God to
have so many members, but with the few things God is
manifesting his spirit
all the more and allowing us to see our purpose. I believe it is in the
prayers for others that he has kept this ministry going
and we thank you for
the opportunity that you have opened to us to pray for others
worldwide.Again, we thank you and will continue to pray with you and your many subscribers.

*OPERATION “AIR COVERAGE”
From: “Lonny
Bringham” <prsummit@mill.net>
The nation that controls the sky controls the war and wins
the war. W.W.II
demonstrated this. Germany controlled the sky and
continued to pound country
after country. They were unstoppable. Then the British
fighters using the
Spitfire and American fighters using the Flying Fortress
began to gain
control of the sky. Eventually the Germans stopped their
bombing raids and
the end of the war soon followed. These pilots risked it
all to fight a war
that at one time seemed impossible. Churchill later said, “Never
has so much
been owed to so few”, referring to these pilots. Equally
significant to the
end of the war was the end to the Holocaust, unfortunately
after millions
were slaughtered. Controlling the air is essential in
winning a war, any
war.
Military outposts often fight the enemy with limited supplies
and ammunition. They desperately fight to defend their position. Without adequate
“air coverage” they will most certainly be overcome by the relentless attacks
of enemy fire.
We are experiencing a war and holocaust in this country,
the war against
abortion, which has already taken the lives of 35 Million
babies. It appears
that this war will never end. Crisis Pregnancy Centers
continue to fight on
the front lines each and every day hoping to make a
difference. They are
much like a military outpost. They have limited supplies,
funding, resources
and personnel, most of which are volunteers. They are on
the front lines
fighting enemy fire coming from every direction. They
desperately need “Air
Coverage”!
Intercessory prayer provides the “Air Coverage” they so
desperately need. It
gives them the overpowering advantage to not just survive
the skirmishes and
attacks from the enemy, but to be triumphant each and
every day. In
Ephesians Paul tells us “We wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against
rulers and principalities of darkness”. Let’s join
together and provide the
“Air Coverage” for those fighting on the front lines and
win this war!

NOVEMBER 11 CAPE COD GATHERING TO PRAY FOR USA
·
Pastor J. Conrad Lampan - The Second Call Ministries
Many of you joined with us in prayer for the USA last
November 11 but
were not able to attend the “re-covenanting” ceremony in
Provincetown on
that day. There were people praying in homes and churches
in over 800
locations in the US and over 200 congregations/groups
gathered to pray for
the US in other countries.
We signed a new covenant, “The Cape Cod Covenant of
1999.” It is
presently being circulated around the nation so that all
others who wish to
sign may do so.
(If you’ d like to have a copy, please email us and simply
put “Cape Cod Covenant” in the subject header. We will comply with your
request as soon as possible.
Nearly 100 people gathered (including a number from out of
state and a
few from as far away as Tennessee and South Dakota). After
opening with “God
Bless America,” and several worship songs centering on the
Blood of the
Lamb, we prophetically proclaimed in song an outpouring of
righteousness on
the land according to Isaiah 45. The leader called forward those who were
descendants of the co-signatories of the Mayflower
Compact. I went forward,
along with four others, and stood to symbolize the
ratification of the
repentance and re-covenanting. Several people were moved
to come forward to
do public repentance for various sins, most especially for
breaking our first covenant with God to evangelize this land. There was a
wonderful spirit of unity and love there the whole time.
In the love of Calvary, Sherry Wanner, Awaken!
Ministries, Inc.

*PRAYER EVANGELISM & STUDENTS
>From: “Claude Watters” <CWatters@isionline.org>
A concept that seems new to the Christian world today is
the bringing
together of prayer and evangelism. The combination seems very simple, and
the first responds of many believers when first hearing about
it is, “Of
course, why not?”
In the early church, the two were never thought to be
separate ideas.
Before sending out Barnabas and Paul the church
prayed (Acts 13:2-3). As
Paul and Silas sat chained in the Philippian jail, they
were “praying and
singing hymns to God.” (Acts 16:25) A miracle took place and the jailer and
his family were saved.
Essentially, the disciples were just following the
best example of prayer ever-Jesus! Our Lord spent extended periods of time
in prayer with our Father.
Prayer was never meant to be separate from the great
commission. But over
the years the church let prayer become inward and a last
resort for our
personal needs or desires. Dr. Terry Teykl in his book, Acts 29 Blueprint
For the House of Prayer, states,
Unfortunately, somewhere along the way, as the church
developed and made
great strides in organization and resources, prayer and
evangelism grew apart and eventually separated, each going its own way. Prayer became listless; it had no list of
the lost. Prayer married itself of to self-serving attitudes and man-centered
agendas.
Dr. Teykl further talks about evangelism and how the
church slipped into
“hard-sell tactics, marketing techniques and advertising
schemes….When it
[the church] could not produce converts, it settled for
producing good attendance or starting a scouting troop.”
God is faithful and His love for the world is so much
greater than we can
comprehend. He has
called His church back to prayer and reaching the lost.
Over the last decade the prayer movement has been nothing
short of
incredible. Prayer
is now an outward force with vision and focused on
reaching the lost.
Prayer has become offensive rather than defensive in the
battle for souls.
Ministries dedicated to prayer evangelism have been
started all over the world. The 10/40 Window efforts of prayer with
Christian Information Network and AD 2000 and Beyond have
opened doors for
outreach in the least evangelized regions of the
world. The United Prayer
Track has mobilized 36 million people to pray for one
hundred gateway cities
in unevangelized nations.
Mission America has spearheaded “The Lighthouse
Movement” to pray, care and share the Gospel of Jesus
Christ with every man,
woman and young person in America by the end of the year
2000.
What you are doing as intercessors for international
students is definitely
in the flow of what God is doing with prayer
evangelism. You are making a
difference in this world!

*911 PRAYER: <http://www.praisechapelbhc.org>
Emergency prayer support is needed for complete healing
and temporary
financial assistance for Brother Mike Lambert, who had a
heart transplant in
1992... He was notified last week that his insurance was
canceled... He has
applied for financial aid through the state (will take 4
to 6 week)...
Medication cost is $900.00 a month... Mike’s wife is
working a part time
job... As a small church, we are unable to financially
assist our Brother in
his time of need. Any assistance the Body of Christ would
be able to give
him is prayerfully appreciated. God Bless you, Sister
Bernie

*A PRAYER FOR BIBLICAL LEADERSHIP
Millennium Unity Prayer
January 21st, Soul Winner’s Church
At 90th and Halsted
Father, as called leaders of Your Church,
We pray and ask You for...
The Faith of Abraham...That would allow us to trust You
enough to leave
everything behind, to journey out by faith towards Your
direction for our
lives and Your Church of Jesus Christ.
The Leadership of Moses...That would let us lead our
people and cry out to
You, O Lord; on their behalf, we plead for Your
forgiveness for them when
they make for themselves gods of gold.
The Courage and conviction of Daniel...That under the very
threat of death,
we would be leaders that would not bow to any earthly
authority, and that
we would remain standing strong, serving God continually.
The Heart of David...may we possess hearts that would
grieve with You about
the impurities within our lives, and that would we
constantly seek forgiveness and cleansing from our iniquities, and would we
strive for purity and refreshment from You, O Lord.
The Wisdom of Solomon...we would ask You to give Your
humble servants
discerning hearts to govern our people, and the ability to
distinguish
between right and wrong. May we be always obedient to do
whatever You would
ask us to do.
The Perseverance and Integrity of Job...we ask that we
would always be
found blameless and upright, leaders who fear God and shun
evil. Allow us
to be able to withstand all manner of crisis and calamity,
yet still remain
as godly leaders of integrity, absolutely unable to curse
God. May we be
able to maintain Your righteousness in our lives, and may
we possess an unreproachable conscience in every area of our lives.
The Zeal of Paul...Give us the ability to regard our lives
as nothing, we
only ask You to allow us to finish the race and complete
the task that You,
O Lord, have assigned us, the task of testifying to the
gospel of God’s grace.
The Faithfulness of Timothy...allow us to become leaders
who have proved
ourselves only by our faithful service in the work of the
gospel, becoming
reliable leaders qualified to teach others.
The Compassion of Jesus...may our lives be given over to
the teaching and
the healing of diseased bodies, and bruised and hurt
lives. Give us hearts
that would ache for the confused and aimless crowds, may we
see them as
sheep, and may we respond to them as a tender shepherd. May
we be given
eyes to seek an abundant harvest for those to come into a
saving
relationship with the Father, may we echo the prayer of
Jesus as He prayed
for “harvest hands” to help.
And for the sake of your people, we ask you for:
Closeness to You
Christ-like character, and
Clarity of vision and message
In the Name of Jesus Christ we pray and agree together, Amen.
