E-BOOKS PROVIDE NEW & IMMEDIATELY ACCESSIBLE RESOURCES
>From: Eddie Smith <usprayercenter@cs.com>

Greetings in the name of our matchless King Jesus! We trust that you are blessed and sharing a blessing to someone today. As you know, Alice and I work hard to prepare resources for the body of Christ. And so we are quite blessed when we find great resources that have been prepared by others. That is the purpose for this note. We want you to know about two very well-written eBooks, and a FREE audio mini e-course (below) that you can begin listening to immediately.

First a word about eBooks.
"One of the unsung benefits of the Internet is the advent of eBooks. I read several eBooks each week." -- Eddie Smith
Why?

           $9.00

Our friend and intercessory researcher Katrina Parnell has outdone herself with this heavily-researched and highly-documented new eBook entitled: Wicca: Facts for Intercessors. In it she tells you the history of witchcraft, the beliefs of witchcraft, the scope of witchcraft, witchcraft symbols, the trends we are seeing in witchcraft today and so much more. Katrina answers questions like:

She explains the foundation of Wicca, its leadership, the titles used, and their groups, organizations, and networks. It is a very thorough book. Then Katrina advises us on how to witness to a witch, and provides intercessory guidelines showing us how to pray for those trapped in darkness.

BONUS: The Pagan Pledge (The oath that witches take.) Get them both for $9!
Order the eBook <http://www.prayerbookstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=53_56&products_id=104>
Remember...when you purchase an eBook, you pay no shipping and handling, or wait for delivery. You can read it on your monitor, or print it out to read minutes from now!

Another Exciting Offer Author and missionary Michael Hennen is a strategist--a prayer strategist. His fascinating and instructional new eBook, Strategic Prayer: Praying to Change a Nation will capture your heart. He will take you with him to other nations where you will begin to feel the passionate heart of Christ. In his eBook Michael reveals military tactics and strategies that you can apply to pray for nations. If you've been called to pray for the nations, this eBook is a MUST READ! If you are called to lead intercession and intercessors, this eBook is INVALUABLE!

Michael will teach you spiritual warfare prayer tactics like...

Discover spiritual warfare prayer strategies like.

Learn about the battleground of the mind.

And how to pray powerful pro-active prayers.

There is so much more in this book. It is like an entire course!

BONUS: Purchase this eBook and you will also receive a FREE copy of Michael's 37-page companion eBook entitled, Spiritual Reconnaissance. Get them both for $9!

To pray more strategically it is always helpful to take a spiritual survey of your circumstances. By answering the questions Michael gives you (which follow along with the text of his eBook Strategic Prayer above) you will be able to draw a spiritual map of your region or circumstances and focus your attention on the personal and corporate application of each strategic prayer principle he presents in Strategic Prayer. This special bonus is alone worth the price of the eBook.

Order the eBook <http://www.prayerbookstore.com/product_info.php?cPath=53_56&products_id=98>
Another Exciting Offer Turn up your speakers and listen to this FREE mini e-course on Spiritual Warfare

Authority to Tread: A Practical Guide for Strategic-Level Spiritual Warfare $12.99 Not an eBook Perfect Bound

PBS COVER STORY: EVANGELICALS
>From: "Religion and Ethics" <religion@thirteen.org>

Cover Story: Evangelicals and Identity
They are the largest group of Protestant Christians in the country -- a movement far more complex than the familiar stereotypes suggest. Who are America's evangelicals? What do they believe? How do they worship and carry out their faith in everyday life?
Judy Valente visits with three families from different areas of the U.S. -- Bloomington, Illinois, San Antonio, Texas, and Mobile, Alabama -- to examine their core beliefs, religious and moral views, and their thoughts on how they fit into the American mainstream. According to Randy Boggs, a member of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, "We are, I believe, much wider and deeper than some stereotypes would indicate. We represent a broad spectrum of political views ... The one thing we do have in common is that outlandish, crazy story about Christ on the cross -- the passion of Christ. We've accepted that as being the guiding force in our life." (Rebroadcast from April 16, 2004)

God Counts On Our Prayers
By Andrew Murray
Think of how God is hindered and disappointed when His children do not pray, or pray but little. The low, feeble life of the Church and the lack of the power of the Holy Spirit for conversion and holiness, is all owing to the lack of prayer. How different would be the state of the Church and of heathendom, if God’s people were to take no rest in calling upon Him!
And yet God has blessed, just up to the measure of the faith and the zeal of His people. It is not for them to be content with this as a sign of His approval. Rather, it is that we say, if He has thus blessed our feeble efforts and prayers, what will He not do if we yield ourselves wholly to a life of intercession? What a call of penitence and confession that our lack of consecration has kept back God’s blessing from the world! (Herald of His Coming, February 2002 issue).

PRAYER FOR TSUNAMI VICTIMS
Obviously, a tangible response to this terrible tragedy is to provide badly needed funds for victims. We urge you to seek out ways to give in this way. Here are some prayer points from the World Network of Prayer. They also have power point and bulletin inserts available: http://www.wnop.org/tsunami.asp#1
· Ask God to reveal His peace and comfort to thousands of grieving families.
· Ask God to provide the necessary rescue workers, recovery air lifts, and relief agencies today and in the months ahead during the long rebuilding process.
· Ask God to give wisdom to our President and our nation to respond compassionately by caring for all involved as Jesus would.
· Ask God to let you see the victims of the tragedy in Sri Lanka or Thailand through His eyes in order to move you to fervently petition that their critical needs will be met spiritually and physically.
· Thank God for sparing the west coast of the U.S. from the effects of this earthquake and tsunami, but pray that our hearts would be humbly and fully trusting in Him if we do experience another disaster in our homeland.
· Ask God to help us use this specific reminder to responsibly prepare, as Scripture illustrates, and help others prepare for any natural or man-made disaster that could occur closer to home.

Global Day of Prayer Youth Focus—Whole Night for the whole world
Eve of Pentecost – Saturday, May 14, 2005

On the eve of Pentecost, thousands or perhaps millions of young people around the world will be praying for global revival in our generation. Youth and interested adults will join together on their knees to ignite and accelerate God's plan for this fallen world. In 2004, groups in at least 128 communities, in 30 countries, on six continents prayed together. Will you join us in 2005?
The challenges and opportunities of our world demand it! Christian young people cannot continue with business as usual. Jesus modeled it. Jesus commanded it. It was not unusual for him to pray all night, and expect His followers to do the same. Prayer is life-changing for us…and the world too.
Praying on Pentecost weekend has great symbolism. Jesus asked his followers to assemble and pray after his departure. It was during this time of prayer that the Holy Spirit was given to those disciples and the Church was birthed. Pentecost is also one of the important days in the Church calendar, which transcends cultures and traditions.
It was the prayers of a few, gathered together in the Upper Room, who experienced firsthand the power of the Holy Spirit, who began to testify, who saw multitudes added to their numbers, who turned the world upside down.

Guarding The Minds Of Our Children (Doing Battle on Our Knees)
By Kim Butts
Author, Stormie O’Martian, in her book, The Power of A Praying Parent, says, "The battle for our children’s lives is waged on our knees. When we don’t pray, it’s like sitting on the sidelines watching our children in a war zone getting shot at from every angle. When we DO pray, we’re in the battle alongside them, appropriating God’s power on their behalf." She also says, "Whenever you pray for your child, do it as if you are interceding for his or her life – because that’s exactly what you are doing. Remember that while God has a perfect plan for our children’s lives, Satan has a plan for them too."
We have an enemy who wishes to damage our children. He wants their hearts and their minds. We are in a battle for the lives of our children, and, as quoted above, the battle can only be waged on our knees in prayer. We can’t wish the enemy wouldn’t bother us, or hope he will go away. We CAN, however, defeat him by the power of the Word of the Living God. Click on link to read the rest of the article http://www.harvestprayer.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=43&Itemid=35 <http://www.harvestprayer.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=43&Item=35>

NEW NETWORK: MAKING DISCIPLES OF ORAL LEARNERS
>From: "Naomi A. Frizzell" <nfrizzell@bellsouth.net>

Subject: Making Disciples of Oral Learners

Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with an ever-increasing global population that learns by oral means is now considered one of the top priorities of many denominations and ministries. Groups such as Campus Crusade for Christ International, the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, Trans World Radio, Youth With A Mission and others have formed a new strategic partnership known as the International Orality Network (ION). The ION seeks to help educate the church on using means such as chronological storytelling and dramatic narratives to convey the good news of Jesus.

The ION is sponsoring a 2005 Consultation on Orality September 13-15 in Anaheim, CA, USA. The Consultation is expected to be the largest forum ever for the rapidly emerging field of ministry to oral communicators.

Below is a news release concerning the Consultation. Please consider sharing this information with your audience. If you have any questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me at naomi@lausanne.org.

Thank you!

September Conference To Focus On "Making Disciples of Oral Learners"

(31 March 2005) Sixty-six percent of the world’s population either cannot read or prefer communicating by oral means, according to the newly formed International Orality Network (ION). ION leaders say that means at least 1.5 billion unreached peoples of the world face a Christless eternity unless literate Christians make significant changes in evangelism, discipleship, leadership training and church planting. Dr. Avery Willis, Executive Director of ION, says "These people need a customized strategy delivered in a culturally appropriate manner in order for them to hear, understand and respond to the gospel and then reproduce disciples." Dr. Willis is the former Vice President of Overseas Operations International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

ION CONFERENCE
To address the challenges and opportunities of sharing the Gospel with an ever-increasing population that learns by oral means, ION will host the 2005 Consultation on Orality, September 13-15, 2005 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Anaheim, California, USA. This three-day conference is entitled "A Story for the Nations: Making Disciples of Oral Learners." The gathering will bring together evangelists, ministry leaders, pastors and missionaries to rediscover principles for reaching the lost by presenting the Bible as Jesus, Peter and Paul did – through oral means. Workshops include: The Background of Storytelling; Literacy Reality; The Theological Place for Storytelling; Hands on Storytelling; Music and Drama to Present Bible and more. For registration and hotel information, please go to http://www.oralbible.com
<http://www.oralbible.com/> .

ION BACKGROUND
The International Orality Network was formed by the merging of the Lausanne (Committee for World Evangelization) Task Force on Making Disciples of Oral Learners and the Oral Bible Network. ION’s vision is "to make God’s Word available to all oral learners in culturally appropriate ways that enable church planting movements everywhere." ION endeavors to educate the church about the necessity of using means like chronological storytelling and dramatic narratives to convey the good news of Jesus. When reaching out to oral societies, ION believes it is imperative to use communication forms that are familiar within the particular culture, such as stories, proverbs, drama, songs and poetry.

The ION consists of 15 task forces each directed by a world missions leader, including Steve Douglass, President of Campus Crusade for Christ International and Samuel Chiang, C.O.O. of Trans World Radio. Joining together in this strategic partnership are: Campus Crusade for Christ International; Epic Partners; Hosanna/Faith Comes By Hearing; The God’s Story Project; International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention; The JESUS Film Project; Progressive Vision; The Seed Company; Scriptures in Use; Trans World Radio; Wycliffe International; and Youth with a Mission.
