Greetings dear friends!
We hope you are mindful that today is the National Day of Prayer ... Take a
moment to give God thanks for our many undeserved blessings, pray for our
nation’s leaders (both political parties!) and for peace in our communities and
across the globe.
We write to also ask for your prayers on our behalf.
We have much to thank God for:
Sophia Riesen (Jorie and Tim) is doing well; a beautiful blessing from
the Lord
Jennie & JJ move into their new home this weekend
Opportunities to travel to Myrtle Beach and Chino Hills (Amen for frequent
flier miles and cheap fares)
Good friends who gifted me with a new laptop computer (What a wonderful
surprise!)
Good friend Chuck Straka (and Dan!) who built a new computer for Carol (for
only $500!)
Ministry opportunities with several churches and strategic planning teams
Along with a new situation that requires much faith.
Pray! magazine has made several cut-backs, one of them being the
networks I was hired to facilitate. As of May 1st, my salary was reduced from
$2500 to $1000 and, as of June 1st, the networks will no longer be funded by
Pray! magazine.
Jon Graf (founding editor of Pray!) and I are committed to keeping these
networks alive; both serve vital needs that touch every congregation. Jon has
stepped out of his role with Pray! and we will work together on the
ongoing development of both networks.
Jon has moved to a new 4/5 time paid position with his denomination that
will allow him to stay involved with the networks.
PrayingPastor.com is and will remain a free web site.
PrayerLeader.com is and will continue to be a membership fee site. The
dollars brought in from memberships were never expected to fully sustain the
costs of providing the service, so now, Jon will focus his efforts at finding
ministries that will offer financial support.
As you may remember, this role provided about half of my monthly income.
We welcome your prayers!
For the Lord to use this transition to actually strengthen and spread
the impact of these networks.
Faith for Carol and me to trust God to supply all of our needs.
Trusting God and thankful for you,
Phil & Carol
