Pray for the Iraqi Governing Council

The 25 members of the Iraqi Governing Council

Praying for the people above may be the single most strategic prayer we can pray for our troops.

Unless these 25 leaders physically survive the repeated assassination attempts that are sure to come….

Unless they have great wisdom to rebuild their broken nation…

Unless they have the sustained courage to defeat the Islamic mass murderers in their cities…

The return of our troops and the restoration of the nation will be
greatly delayed.

That delay could cost the loss of many more lives---
both American and Iraqi.

Here’s How Your Church Could Help

1.                               Adopt one Council Member for regular prayer as a Church.
A short bio of each Council Member can be found on the BBC website at http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3062897.stm
1.
                            Pray that:
o                                                       God protects them and their family physically
o                                                       That they have the wisdom of Solomon to rebuild their nation.
o                                                       That they can defeat all terrorist forces within Iraq.

3.
Write them to tell them of your prayer commitment as a Church.
4.                             You may also want to pray that the Council Member has a dream or vision of Jesus.  Strange as it may seem, it is well documented by several Christian ministries that in several Islamic nations today, about 50 to 80 % of Moslems becoming Christians have had a recent dream or vision of Jesus leading to their salvation.  I just hear a Christian leader returning from Iran say it is hard to find an Iranian Christian who has not had such an experience prior to conversion. Prayer has played a major role in  this!

May the Lord use our prayers to bless Iraq through its Governing Council and thus, release our troops to return home soon.
