states

Dear pastors and
leaders,
The Lord is an amazing God! Since last December the Loudoun
County (Northern Virginia)
Community Prayer Watch pastors and leaders have been talking about the Fall
2004 40 Days of Prayer and Fasting. This was to include the Loudoun Church
Alliance churches and churches participating in the monthly fasting schedule
for Loudoun County. In January we began to discuss the possibility that this
could become Northern
Virginia event also, and began to
make inquires to gauge the interest level of regional prayer leaders. We have
basically encountered nothing but positive sentiment. Several Virginia counties
are now committed through the efforts of Jack Stagman.
In the last few months, through the leadership of Gary Bergel of
Intercessors for America, many national calls to prayer and fasting have been
brought together into one 40 day time period. There are some 20 national
endorsements already with many more expected --See the www.40DaysUSA.org

more details. Amazingly, many national leaders have also endorsed Loudoun's
proposed October 10th Solemn Assembly as a day set aside for observance
for the entire country.
There is much to be done to prepare for this time:
*County leaders need to establish prayer and fasting focuses for
their county.
*State leaders need to meet in Richmond to establish focuses for the
state.
*Each region of our county needs to plan for the October 10th Solemn
through the cooperation of the pastor prayer groups and associations to
decide what locations of the Sunday Oct 10th Solemn Assembly. As it stands
now, 12:00 pm Eastern time will be adopted across the country. Information and
guidelines for the solemn assemblies will follow shortly. We will also need to
plan how to connect these sites across the county, if possible.
*24/7 Prayer for the period could be a reality in each city or county
if just 40 churches designate one of the 40 days as their day to cover with 24
hours of prayer. Some individuals may be called to specific watches of the
night throughout the entire 40 days.
*All night prayer September 24th- the eve of Yom Kippur (Day of
Atonement) for the entire county to begin the 40 days of fasting.
PLEASE PRAY DURING THIS CRITICAL DEVELOPMENTAL
PHASE OF THE EFFORT:
* For leaders and the entire Body of Christ to hear this call
from God's heart going forth at this time.
* For wisdom for all those involved in the planning process.
* For a spirit of unity and cooperation to prevail in all our efforts.
* For God's favor on all we do.
