*    Pastor Phil's Report From Zambia

Our location in Zambia was a "very rural" area called Mukinge (moo-king-ee) in the Kasempa region.  Missionaries established a hospital there in the early 20th century and, while it became one of the top hospitals in the province, several other strategic ministries were also established. These works, now under the direction of the Evangelical Church in Zambia, are raising up indigenous pastors and leaders.

I sensed a stirring of God among those attending my Prayer Seminars:
-Trained and untrained pastors who are shepherding congregations in villages surrounding the hospital base (one bicycled over 3 hours)
-Theological Education by Extension directors who motorcycle long hours and many kilometers every week to deliver discipleship teaching to the Elders and members of remote villages
    -Village Church Worship Leaders
-Career Missionaries who train teachers and nurses and translate Christian resources
-Hospital Chaplains who minister to AIDS patients; ,amy place faith in Christ
    -Regional Christian Education Directors
-Christian teachers in the elementary and secondary schools
-Small group Prayer Leaders who are entreating the Lord for a "Transformations" (video) type of revival
-Leaders who take the gospel to the nearby men's prison.
Many of these ministry leaders are also in the marketplace (bivocational, in Western terms).

As I stood before the group, the Lord opened my eyes to see this is identical to the city reaching movements we are seeing in North America. This was the first "City Impact Roundtable - Mukinge, Zambia"!

Since then I have been carrying a burden - - How easy it would be for the NPPN to assist and accelerate this comprehensive "village reaching" enterprise. Christians in Zambia have much to be proud of and they are inspiring examples of how to use and reuse even the fewest  of resources ... Many embarrassingly out of date. But, how much more effective they would be with even a few additional items.

Here's my vision - - I am praying you will partner with me!

What if each of us made the small sacrifice of sending our brothers & sisters in Mukinge a book or teaching tape? A worship CD could bless hundreds of people in dozens of congregations. Your underused Bible dictionary can give new depth to the teaching of an untrained pastor. Each magazine you send would be devoured by a dozen or more Christian leaders hungry for new ideas - What a great way to recycle! The Christian teachers at the schools are in desperate need of text books to upgrade their teaching of the sciences (biology, geography, chemistry, physics, medical subjects), English language, education, commerce, world history. Reference books and dictionaries? Invaluable!

Your sacrifice?

You part with a resource that will be greatly appreciated and widely used to disciple Zambian Christians, some who already in strategic church leadership positions, some who will be sent to the far corners of this emerging nation.

Your cost?
A bubble wrap envelope and postage. From America, maybe $10 -$15 (depending on weight).

If you are willing to part with an item that has already blessed you and is sitting idle, useless, dormant  on your shelf (how an I doing at motivating by guilt?), please follow the instructions below ... And make sure you send me an emessage so I can let them know a Prayer~Care~Share package is on the way!

May God multiply our tiny sacrifice for the advancement of His Kingdom!

Pastor Phil
