2.    PRAYER FOR MISSION AMERICA COALITION

Leaders of denominations, national ministries, and city reaching movements are meeting in Dallas, Texas, October 23-25 for the Mission America Coalition Annual Meeting.

This year's meeting utilizes a roundtable format, similar to the City Impact Roundtable that meets in conjunction to the Mission America Coalition, in order to allow the coalition members to listen more closely to the Lord (several facilitated prayer times) and to one another (several opportunities for discussion and networking).

Several dozen intercessors have been recruited by Pat Chen to uphold the meeting through onsite prayer -- You are invited to join them from your home base throughout the days of the meeting.

Pray for:
-the "State of the Coalition" message by Paul Cedar (see schedule above)
-the "State of the Culture" message by Leith Anderson
-the "State of the Church" message by George Otis
-the "State of our Future Collaboration" roundtable Friday morning
-300 conveners for the 2003 Annual Meeting in New York City

3.    PASTORS INVITE INTERCESSORS TO "SIMPLY PRAY"

Intercessors from Seven States Make History in Selma

On Tuesday, November 12, a history-making event will take place. For the first time, intercessors from almost seven states will descend on the tiny town of Selma, Alabama at the invitation of the pastors of that city –- to simply pray.

This “gift of prayer” by people of prayer from one city to another is an indication of the trans-local dimension of renewal that is now breaking forth. Thus far, we have seen unity and prayer movements emerge from within and focused on specific cities. Now, God is calling us to bear one another’s burdens –- one city to another city. He is stretching us to see that one city cannot renew the nation by itself just as no one church can renew a city by itself. We must be together in this endeavor.

On Tuesday, November 12, we will gather at 9:00 a.m. in the historic Brown Memorial Chapel where history was changed in the days of the civil rights era. We will ask God to change history again in Selma and beyond -– to send us a mighty spiritual renewal.

PraySelma is not about race relations. It is about pastors and believers in Selma who understand that the hope of their city is in Christ alone, and that hope is coupled with a sense of holy desperation. These pastors have declared themselves in need of our prayerful support.

What Will Happen on November 12?

The prayer service will be followed by prayer missions to almost 70 different sites throughout Selma. Our goal is to seed the city with incense, the fragrance of prayer. An afternoon celebration will include reports from those morning prayer experiences. By early afternoon, participants will be released to begin the journey home.

Would you join us in Selma? Bring a prayer team. Give the gift of prayer –- to the city of Selma.

For full information, visit www.prayselma.org

There is no charge for the event!
