Experiencing God: Knowing and Doing the Will of God
* Have you ever felt like you take the Lord's Supper or Communion too
casually?
* Has it become merely a tradition?
* Have you ever wanted to guide your people to prepare to partake in a more
worthy manner?
* Does your church need to return to their first love for Christ and to holy
living?
This 112 page workbook guides members to remember what Christ did on the cross
to provide a remedy for sin and to rekindle in their hearts a first love for
their wounded Savior. It guides them to examine their lives and relationships to
get right with God and others so that they can partake of the Lord's Table in a
worthy manner. Use the built-in pastor's guide to lead your church in a
celebration of the Lord's Table as a sacred assembly of the church.

Doing the Will of God
Before ascending into heaven Jesus gave one Final Command (Great Commission)
to His disciples that He restated in a number of ways to assure that they would
not forget. Yet today most of our church members have no involvement in making
disciples or being His witnesses. This 112 page workbook provides seven steps to
help every member find his or her place in the harvest fields and begin obeying
the Final Command together with the rest of the Body of Christ. Leader's
material is included for small groups or churchwide use. Mobilize your entire
congregation for obedience to the Final Command.
Come to the Lord's Table and Final Command Action
Manual are available in bulk quantities at highly discounted prices so you
can provide every member a copy of the book inexpensively. Use the order form

those called to pray for my ministry...
>From: Pastor Bobby L Sinclair <BSINCL@mpw.net>
Praise the Lord, Phil!
We were pleased to have you with us and sharing as you did. Many of those in
my church (Mt. Hermon, Milwaukee, WI) thanked me (of all people) for letting
them know about your “Prayer Driven Churches” class. I asked them to thank God
for pulling all this together for His glory. Those that attended the conference
from our church are meeting tomorrow evening to pray and see what the Lord has
shown them as it relates to His vision for our ministry. I am excited and would
that you pray for His kingdom growth. Continue to be a blessing!
I would also welcome prayer for any of these upcoming meetings:

PlanetWisdom.com's In the Gap 2002 week-long prayer vigil exceeds goal
DALLAS/FORT WORTH, TX-PlanetWisdom.com held its second worldwide In the
Gap Internet prayer vigil during the week of April 1-7, 2002. According to Mark
Matlock, president and founder of WisdomWorks Ministries that includes
PlanetWisdom.com, students as far away as Botswana participated in the event.
Students signed up to pray in half-hour time slots during the prayer effort
which is based on Ezekiel 22:30.
Over 600 students participated, and their efforts resulted in 580 hours or more
of continuous prayer in one week. Seven countries were represented including
Finland, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Botswana and the United States.
"We even had students signing up to pray for the next week," says Matlock, of
the enthusiasm he saw displayed by the teens.
Following are a few responses from In The Gap 2002 student participants:
"During In the Gap, I fasted one meal a day-lunch! It was quite hard because
during lunch, while the rest of my friends at my public school were eating, I
got up and walked around our commons area and around our campus praying! I have
not yet seen any specific results, but I know the seed has been planted, and God
will reap the harvest!" - Sarah
"I had an amazing time in prayer. Lately I have to admit that I have been
really busy, and I have not been regular in my devotions or prayer time. Now,
because of this week of prayer, I am back in my devotions and have a longing to
know [God] more. I am at peace, and I am reassured of what a mighty God we
serve." - Jessica
"This was my second year of participating in In The Gap, and, like last year, it
was an unforgettable experience." - Katy

>From: "Doug Small" <dougsmall@aliveministries.org>
For the last several years, city leaders from across the south, particularly
those involved in a "prayer-summit" type city-impact launch, have met for
dialogue at Shocco Springs Baptist Campground in Talladega, AL (between
Birmingham and Atlanta, just south of I-20).
This year, the meeting will focus on "city-stories." Instead of training or
sharing from IRM leadership, we will showcase the stories of prayer,
breakthrough and renewal which are emerging out of the various cities.
In the last five years, I have been physically in about 53 SE USA cities,
meeting with pastoral groups. We have seen about 25+ cities go to summit. About
20 of those cities have an ongoing pastoral prayer movement in the city, and out
of that some city-impact process. We want to hear from the city-leaders who feel
they have something to share.
Among those I hope will be sharing are the following:
Jacksonville, FL - the growth of the movement there, and the city-impact is
incredible. A must-hear story for those moving forward in city-leadership
paradigms, pastoral and marketplace coalitions, press conferences in behalf of
pastoral unity, the black-white bonds of support and understanding.
Tuscaloosa, AL - just had their first marketplace summit with about 90 leaders
present. Among them was the Superintendent of Schools; the President of the
Chamber of Commerce; University personnel; Business leaders - a great variety.
Now, a "business sector" prayer retreat is planned, along with an educators
prayer retreat. The goal? To see marketplace leadership emerge in each of these
streams that can be envisioned to see renewal in the whole of the city.
Little Rock, AR - Still learning how to adapt the "Sharefest" events they have
had to other cities as models of incarnational evangelism.
Miami, FL - Here is our most diverse multicultural city. And there, we recently
experience the fall of a key leader - impacted the whole city. Multiple issues
here. How do create a genuinely multicultural, city-Church? How do we restore
fallen leaders at the city level? Latin American Mission has taken the lead in
Miami, in stewarding the prayer and renewal movement there. For a number of
years, the growth of the movement was flat. In the last two years, they have
seen upward movement, more pastors joining the movement.
Atlanta, GA - Here is the heart of the south. What we are learning here is that
we may have to process some of our cities in pieces. Randy Haviland has emerged
as a leader of a coalition of ministries and churches in the city.
Charlotte, NC - they are mapping the city. Lighthouses here have become a key
part of the strategy which is networking not only pastors, but also churches.
Bob Lowman has been deployed to become a full-time catalyst in the city. Here is
another metroplex, not as complicated as Atlanta, but still seven counties in
two states.
Joplin, MO - they have opened a healthcare facility and a citywide prayer room.
Also, doing prayer outreaches to Central America.
Branson, MO - In connection with Silver Dollar city, they have opened a prayer
office for the city and are partnering in ways to make Branson not only a mecca
for family entertainment, but a place of spiritual renewal as well. Not without
challenges. New pastors are "called" to Branson every week. New church starts
and washouts, have become standard fare. Special challenges in a city with a
high tourist population.
We are interested in YOUR STORY as well. Stories which need to be told revolve
around:
City-leadership models, bonds, education, mission and purpose - forward looking
transformation plans.
Research of the various kinds:
Spiritual Mapping - City History
Harvest Force
Harvest Field
Demographics
Compassion Needs Assessment
Power Mapping
Pastor Healing and Restoration
Church renewal out of prayer summits, gatherings, etc.
Adaptation of prayer-summits to the local church, city-church, area.
Models for pastoral prayer and spiritual growth following the summit.
Marketplace Summits (Layering prayer in the city)
Formation of City "Prayer Councils"
Intercessors networking in the city, training, deployment
Resources that have been developed, modified, adapted.
Funding .... the BIG one!
If your leadership team feels they have a contribution they would like to make
to the gathering, please respond by email or phone ASAP for consideration to
the program.
Here is a special area we are working on. Silver Dollar City, near Branson, has
developed a city foundation for pastoral renewal and the community spiritual
enrichment. They have providing significant funding for the renewal efforts in
Branson. They have offered to be present to share the model - (not the money) -
but the model for structuring their foundation. It is becoming increasingly
clear, that we have donors who look beyond their churches for noble causes to
which to give. Seeing nothing between the local church and high-profile national
ministries, the city itself is left unfunded. We must create a financial vehicle
- one which is not focused on one organization in the city, but upon the funding
the cause of renewal and transformation itself. This is one of the items we want
to talk about at the gathering Talladega.
Here are the dates:
September 2 - 4, 2002
Monday: 6:00 p.m. - Wednesday 11:30 a.m.
The price for two nights, lodging on site (double occupancy) is yet to be
worked out.

>From: "Rob Edwards" <DiscipleMaker@arilion.com>
I'm Rob Edwards, and I've been facilitating the organization of Northside
Community Ministries, linking about a dozen churches from about 7 denominations
and across racial lines on the north side of Norfolk, Virginia.
I am attaching the various statements that they have drafted per your request.
They have also adopted articles of incorporation, bylaws and a constitution for
their board of directors. They have applied for a corporate charter, and are in
the process of applying for 501(c)3 status.
Facilitating the writing of these statements was the most incredible thing I've
ever witnessed in 20+ years of ministry!
Blessings! Rob
We, congregations of the Christian faith community on
the north side of Norfolk, Virginia, formally join together to create and
establish Northside Community Ministries.
-We, the members of the body of Christ, confess that the current division within
many parts of this Body of believers is not pleasing to God.
- We commit, in word and deed, to stand together, united in our love for Jesus
Christ, for His Body of believers, and for those desperately lost in sin.
- We believe that God’s Word affirms the functional, visible unity of the Body
of Christ without compromising the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
- We believe that our purpose is to foster relationships among our congregations
by affirming the value of inter-church cooperation, which will enable us jointly
and individually to address individual and community needs of residents within
our area. We agree to do so by sharing our resources, coordinating ministries,
and providing needed services and spiritual ministry.
- We pledge our support through our Spirit-led prayer, seasonal worship,
educational endeavors, common financial commitment, sharing of facilities, and
congregational volunteers.
- We further believe that the only hope for our churches, community, and
country, is a God-ordained, Christ-centered, Spirit-led awakening. It is toward
that end that we joyfully join together to symbolize our common mission to
serve.
The purposes of Northside Community Ministries are to promote
relationships between pastors and local churches on the north side of Norfolk,
Virginia, and to enable them collectively to address individual and community
needs of residents within that area, by sharing resources, coordinating
ministries, and providing needed services.
The mission of Northside Community Ministries is to nurture
and build cooperative relationships between pastors and local churches, in
cooperation with other organizations and individuals, to provide support
services and spiritual ministry to people in need on the north side of Norfolk,
Virginia.
Our vision is to be a life-giving community of Kingdom
building Christians transforming the north side of Norfolk, Virginia. (Psalm
127:1)
Because we pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done,”
Northside Community Ministries holds to these core values:
… The reconciliation of people to God and to each other.
All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through
Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the
world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has
committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s
ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on
Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God.
2 Corinthians 5:18-20, NIV
… The functional, visible Unity of the Body of Christ
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who
will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father,
just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world
may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave
me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be
brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved
them even as you have loved me.
John 17:20-23, NIV
Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.
There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to one hope when you
were called—one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is
over all and through all and in all.
Ephesians 4:3-6, NIV
There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are
all one in Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:28, NIV
… Servant Ministry to the whole person
Jesus called them together and said, “You know that those
who are regarded as rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high
officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants
to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first
must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to
serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:42-45, NIV
Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole
spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until that day when our Lord Jesus
Christ comes again. God, who calls you, is faithful; he will do this.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24, NLT
‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers
of mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’
Matthew 25:40, NASB

>From: "Jack Stagman" <fai@megapipe.net>
On behalf of our team here in Northern Virginia we wanted to thank you for
making the effort to be with us (April 19-20, 2002). George was a real
blessing to us at the conference. We want to give God the glory for starting a
fire in Northern Virginia. We had representatives from a number of counties
present. People enjoyed seeing both Transformation one and two and the new Fiji
release. The practical video on the Core Principles of Transformation is an
excellent tool.
I had one pastor already report that he had showed the Transformation video
during this past Sunday service and resulted in his whole congregation spending
a further one and a half hours repenting and weeping before the Lord. This
pastor further said that God has been hounding him since we started the
conference on Friday and just cries when he speaks to people. He is totally
consumed with God's presence and love.
Four positive aspects came out of the conference which requires further follow
up and work:
1) We already have the commitment of ten leaders who have taken up George's
invitation to travel for further training to where you are. We will try and
obtain representation from other counties in Northern Virginia and expect at
least 15 that will be willing to attend. I am writing to you now while the iron
is hot so that you can advise us of possible dates and cost implications.
2) We want to move towards adopting Lighthouses as a lifestyle in our churches
here in Northern Virginia. We believe that Alvin Van deGriend has a God
appointed vision which we need to support this vision to help change the
spiritual environment of our families and community. Alvin laid a very good
foundation at the conference and then again on Sunday April 21 through Pastor
Jeff Good of Christ Community Church. We are committed to work with Alvin in
our region.
3) We believe that what Rev Smiley Papenfus from South Africa had to offer
through the add 100 cell structure and Fishers of men will be adopted by a
number of churches to Pray in the harvest, evangelize the harvest and shepherd
the harvest. Further training will also be required here.
4) The concept presentation by Dr Denny Nissley of taking the church outside the
four walls through a family festival was well received. A steering committee is
already in place In Loudoun County, Virginia and they are planning to involve a
minimum of 50 churches and feed 10,000 people on September 7, all free of charge
to the community. We also saw the corporate impact of reaching a city through
the presentation by Reggie Register of Life events ministries. We want to
partner and support the DC Mall event with Luis Palau during 2003
We see that the four projects above blend in nicely , working towards the
transformation process. We are making a start and giving our prayer legs.
Thank you both again for your ministry and commitment to advance the Kingdom of
God, Jack Stagman, Conference Chairman.

*National Solemn Assembly
A new six-page, full color brochure giving all the details concerning the
National Solemn Assembly is now off the press. It tells the story of what is
going to happen in Washington, DC this coming October 8-9 and provides important
registration information. If you would like to have a copy (or a number for
distribution), please let us know.
Support for the NSA continues to grow in the DC area. In recent meetings with
key leaders, the consensus seems to be that this is God's time to send revival
to the nation's capital and that solemn assembly is one of the important
scriptural ingredients He will use to accomplish that purpose. The exceptionally
positive response to the NSA is a strong affirmation that this is a "God thing"
and not just another meeting.
Opportunity is still available to become a member of the Group of 120. The only
requirement for membership in this select group is the commitment to pray every
day for the anointing of God to be upon the National Solemn Assembly. If you
would like to join in this important effort, please let us know by return
e-mail. We will keep you updated on NSA developments.

The "Evangelistic Strategies and Networking Ministers Breakfast" on April
27, 2002 at the Oak Lawn Hilton was a tremendous blessing. It has been quite
encouraging to meet others of like mind and purpose who desire to see the
Chicago region transformed by the power of God. We have had the opportunity to
meet with other ministry leaders since the Ministers Breakfast either in person,
by phone, or email so the networking continues. Susanne Marder of "Pray
Chicago!" put me in touch with Phil Miglioratti who led and facilitated the
"One Great City" meeting in 2000. At this meeting, pastors and ministry
leaders gathered together to share information, network and strategize. They
have continued to meet together since the initial meeting, that in doing so,
God's plans and purposes for our GREAT CITY would be revealed. Pastor Phil
Miglioratti is also the facilitator of the National Pastor's Prayer Network.
Since hearing of the Ministers Breakfast and receiving the information
regarding our meeting, our slide presentation has been posted on their website.
If you are interested in viewing the slides from the "Evangelistic Strategies
and Networking Ministers Breakfast" or in obtaining information about
"Pray Chicago!," please go to the following web address:

CCC Executive Council member Dr. Joseph Mattera comments; "This event
featured some of the key spiritual leaders in our region and in the Body of
Christ. Our goal was to have seasoned urban practitioners who have a passion for
strengthening the local church and establishing the Kingdom of God. Our desire
was to infuse each of our sessions with a combination of "information",
inspiration" and "application" so that attendees would go home with practical
strategies that can immediately impact their personal lives, families, churches,
ministries and region."
At a special leadership luncheon, Dr. Floyd Flake spoke on "Keys To
Longevity, Effectiveness And Integrity.” At this "historic" luncheon, which was
also attended by some key politicians and public figures, some of the "Church

CCC Regional Leadership Council Member, Pastor Dennis Bambino comments; “The
Conference was truly a convergence of Kingdom leadership: Joe Garlington, Floyd
Flake, Roderick Caesar and John Kelly along with regional leaders. Powerful
plenary sessions imparted strategies for the church in areas of worship,
warfare, and penetrating society with the Gospel. Kingdom principles to be used
at the local and regional levels were imparted in areas of order,
administration, and anointing, empowering people for purpose, financial
empowerment and management, starting and maintaining effective youth ministry,
strategic communication, and strategies for proper leadership transition.
With all that, the highlight of the conference was a ceremony honoring the
fathers of our city for their years of service, faithfulness and integrity. This
historic recognition of the fathers was felt to release a blessing to the entire

ENCOURAGING NEWS FROM HARVARD!
A dynamic night of prayer and worship took place recently at Harvard with
275-300 students attending! It was eye-opening to see so many Christian
students gathered at once for an opportunity to worship together and pray for
one another. A new sense of unity is being birthed at Harvard!
FROM THE BOSTON AREA:
Last night I attended the Greater Boston Baptist Association. Ignatius Memeirus
said that the Association had been established 10 years ago with 8 churches; it
is now 91 churches!
Another report by Steve Squires said that he had started Bible studies all over
Boston by requesting to work with and tutor the tough cases in schools. These
became more than 18 Bible study groups!
Pray for the ministry to the Restafariens at Old Colony Jail.
God bless you all!

God works in such an orderly manner. As people come into relationship
with Him through prayer, it is natural that they will begin to love the things
He loves and desire to move where He is moving. I think that's part of the
reason why God's movement, calling Christians to take their faith to work, has
been called "the strongest move of God today" (H. Blackaby). When we start to
listen to God, we begin to move where He is moving.
Last May in Atlanta, we had the fourth gathering of people who are joining
God as He calls ordinary Christians to make their workplace a ministry platform.
At this year's Summit there was a good balance between pastors who were seeking
answers on how to equip their people to minister in the workplace, Christians
who were hearing the call to take their faith to work, and marketplace
ministries (those who are developing materials and providing support to help
Christians take their faith into their spheres of influence).
Below is a thumbnail sketch of last week's Summit. I think you will be
blessed by the testimonies and by seeing where all this prayer is leading.
If you are moving your congregations in this direction, contact me for

Leaders Cite Special Move of God at ICWM in Atlanta
Os Hillman, May 16, 2002
"I've been to a jillion conferences and church events over the years, but I've
never experienced anything like this. Where has this been all my life?!"
Atlanta, Georgia – The International Coalition of Workplace Ministries (ICWM)
Leader’s Summit was held in Atlanta May 8, 9 & 10. More than 130 men and women
from six nations and twenty-one states from the US gathered in Atlanta to learn
what God is doing in the faith and work movement.
"It was the fourth and, by far, the best gathering we have ever had since we
began hosting this event,” said Os Hillman, president of the ICWM. "Our
intercessory prayer team had been meeting since February and prayed specifically
that the Lord would allow the attendees to have a special encounter with the
Lord at the summit. We did not want simply a content-driven’ summit. The Lord
exceeded our expectations. Many were touched by the Lord's presence at our
gathering."
The summit gathered three distinct groups in the faith and work movement which
included pastors and church leaders, for-profit business organization leaders,
and nonprofit workplace ministry leaders. The unique perspective from each group
provided much dialogue for the attendees.
The summit began with two presentations, one by Os Hillman on Go’s Move in the
Workplace today and Geoffrey Shattock of the Worknet Partnership in England on
God’s move in Europe. The Thursday night session featured Romain Zannou, a
pastor from Benin, Africa who led the president of his nation to Christ. Zannou
challenged the attendees to return to the basics of God’s call for every
believer – “to love the Lord with all your heart. It is from this basic truth
that all else would come,” he said.
The summit featured many interesting forums and workshops such as a presentation
by Steve Hyland, an executive with Coca-Cola world headquarters regarding the
recent launch of the Coca-Cola Christian Fellowship and the CDC (Center for
Disease Control) Christian employee association. Other presenters included
pastors who admitted to contributing to the sacred and secular divide by not
affirming the call that men and women have in the workplace.
International representatives from Malaysia, Trinidad, Canada, South Africa,
West Africa, and England acknowledged the movement is international. Many said
they were now able to take what they learned at the summit and communicate with
their constituencies in their countries.
The 2003 summit has been announced for Atlanta April 2-4 at Simpsonwood Retreat
Center in Atlanta.

Following are the comments from several who attended the summit.
“I really enjoyed the Summit. As a business person I had attended many industry
specific conferences. None came close to what I experienced at ICWM. The content
was inspiring and encouraging. There was a genuine closeness that developed
among attendees. And the location was terrific. God was clearly present.”
“I got quite a response from most of the laypersons - and I guess it is a little
unusual for a layman to hear a pastor who tells them what they have already
found to be true - and I am grieved that most pastors are so blinded to how they
really feel about visionary laymen.”
“It was an encouragement to be around so many that have been given a similar
vision from God, all independent from one another, regarding the workplace. Each
of us has felt as though we were given a unique ‘assignment’ from the Lord, yet
God has been orchestrating a much larger strategy which includes all of us”
“I can not tell you how much I appreciate you, your work, and how much I enjoyed
the ICWM Summit. You are influencing more than you are aware. In the next couple
weeks I am going to explore the possibility of bringing together up to five
Workplace Ministry groups in the Charlotte area and then begin forming
partnerships with area Churches to impact the Charlotte area for Christ through
Workplace Ministry. I feel very comfortable speaking to business leaders about
WP Ministry but not yet for pastors. Several ICWM speakers spoke of the
difficulty of reaching certain pastors concerning WP Ministry. This is where you
can help. What I need is a scriptural theological persuasive argument prepared
specifically for pastors explaining why churches should reach out in partnership
with: (A). Outside Workplace Ministry groups (B). Develop Workplace Ministries
within their own church.”
Just wanted to express to you my thanks for such a wonderful conference/summit!
I came with high expectations but it went far beyond anything I could have
anticipated!! One concern I had before attending the conference was that there
would be another ‘wall’ between pastors and people doing ministry in the church
versus people doing ministry in the marketplace. THANK YOU for standing in the
gap and clarifying that this movement is not to divide but to embrace all
ministry. We are partners in ministry and need each other.”
“The Conference probably did many things for me. But the one that stands out for
right now is that God renewed my call to help CEO's learn how to make their
business their ministry. I will be going over all the materials I received in
the next several days and I am sure there are things I will implement in my
business.”
“I'll be sending you a longer note later in the week, but didn't want the week
to start without affirming your efforts. As a good old Baptist, the worship
services were quite different than I'm accustomed to, but I'll confess to
enjoying immensely watching Christians worship their Lord exuberantly. While I
don't clap or raise my arms, I was not in the least ever made to feel
uncomfortable.”
