For the past several years, "City Reachers" from cities and towns from
across North America have been meeting biannually to pray, build relationships,
discuss common issues and partner on strategic initiatives. The fall
meeting has been embedded in the Mission America Coalition Annual Meeting and in
the spring, participants have met, most recently, in Atlanta.
This year, 2003, is strategically different.
Several cities are hosting regional CIRs with twin objectives:
>Accelerating the city transformation movement in
their region
>Identifying a team that will represent their
city/region at the fall CIR meeting
The roundtable context brings together
leaders who seldom (sometimes never) pray and plan together even though they are
called to minister to the same population!
The conversations that take place increase trust which
invariably leads to outreach focused partnerships.
As you read this, Conveners across North
America are recruiting men and women with a Kingdom-sized vision for their
city/community to join them in New York for our fall meeting.
Once again, City Impact Roundtable will be embedded in
the Mission America Coalition Annual Meeting - Which this year will be unlike
any in the history of the coalition.
CIR will convene before the Sunday evening Town Hall
Meeting as teams from our cities will strategize their journey through the
National leadership Forum Tracks.
CIR will reconvene just before the conclusion of the NLF
in order to assess how they have been taught and directed by the Lord.

May I strongly encourage you to attend one of the remaining regional City Impact
Roundtables?
I am convinced it would be worth the time and expense
even if it means traveling outside your region.
In fact, you still have time to plan a regional CIR for
your city (contact me at: phil@nppn.org or 847-344-7837 and see if I can talk
you into it...)
And, after you plot the dates of the CIR/NLF (October 5-8), may I encourage you
to make a list of leaders you will prayerfully invite to join you in New York
City?
Because we are serious about seeing Christ transform our cities,
Phil

The annual Fall meeting if the City Impact Roundtable is
held in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the Mission America Coalition . .
.
The 2003 Annual Meeting of The Mission America Coalition
is entitled "The Gospel In The City" - A National Leadership
Forum, Sharing Christ in Word and Deed.
The October 5-8 meeting will be in New York City
and is being held in collaboration with MAC partner Concerts of Prayer
Greater New York.
Town Hall Meeting: The
Town Hall Meeting on Sunday night will be an interactive forum in which
nationally respected journalists engage Christian leaders representing
various segments of city and urban life, regarding the strategic role of the
Church as the primary change agent for good in today's society.
Integrative Roundtables: Over the
course of the Leadership Forum, participants will be involved in Integrative
Roundtable Discussions, sharing information and experiences with other leaders. Leaders
will explore best-practice models for effective ways of penetrating city
and urban areas with the Gospel.
Plenary Sessions: Nationally and
regionally known leaders will encourage, challenge and motivate leaders to share
Christ in word and deed in every sector of society.
Learning Tracks: Interactive Learning
Tracks will help leaders explore important issues related to holistic urban
evangelism. In addition to facilitated discussion, many will have the
opportunity to participate in onsite visits at New York ministries modeling
effective Christian response to issues impacting city and urban evangelism.
Mission America Resource Center:
In world-class cities, there are gathering
places for people to communicate ideas and develop friendships. The
2003 Mission America Annual Meeting is creating such a place in an all NEW,
expanded Resource Center for the ministries associated with the Mission America
Coalition.
The Resource Center will provide a series of exhibits and resource groups in
which participants can present their services and offer a place for meeting and
interaction. Leaders may sit down with representatives in an area of
specialty ministry and connect with resources and services to help their church
or organization. Our desire is that through this Resource Center,
partnerships may emerge, specific resources and areas of need will be identified
and that new effective strategies for ministry will develop.
One major benefit of being part of the Mission America Coalition is the ability
to access the multitude of skills, talents and connections that are available
through the ministries associated with the Coalition. Make the most
of those connections by being a part of the Resource Center. Contact
the Mission America Coalition Office by email at info@missionamerica.org or
by calling 760.200.2707 for more information.
