Take a look at how God is at work in bringing the Body of Christ together in our
cities across America. Of course events alone are not the final goal, but
they are indictors of a growing passion to come together:
*In worship - seeking God's Kingdom strategy in unity
and humility
*To build relationships - we must build trust to pursue
diversity
*To go forth in new partnerships - as we discover the
unique contributions
of each ethnic an d faith community within
the Body of Christ
Check out Posting #1 - the first of what I anticipate will be a half
dozen Regional City Impact Roundtable gatherings across the country.
Opportunities to meet with others who share your vision for reaching entire
communities and cities for Christ A casual but focused conversational
format. Less from the "front;" more from the circle of colleagues and
new friends who have gathered for the same purpose -- We need to be still and
listen to one another!
Other regions/cities expressing interest:
Pacific Northwest - Iowa - Atlanta - Columbus, OH - Chicago - Phoenix ...
So that, the whole Church comes together to display and proclaim the whole
Gospel to the whole City ... and beyond!!

David and LuAnn Hickey pastor Community Christian Fellowship, Lindale, TX
Used by Permission from a Personal Note written by LuAnn Hickey:
I believe that those pastors whom God is bringing into
this "net" are those who have a kingdom vision. As long as we
can only see our flock/congregation as the focal point of what's
"happening," we are shortsighted. There's so much more (I don't
have to tell you that). But before we have a motivation to connect, we must get
the revelation that it's all about His kingdom coming and His will being done on
earth as it is in heaven. We get to be a part - that's the cool thing; but
only a part. Not the whole. It's humbling and awe-inspiring all at
the same time - to be a part of something so big, so overpowering against the
kingdom of darkness.
I heard the other day a perspective on our nation's
military might. The description was of one aircraft carrier and all the
support vessels and all the planes and men/women being more in number and fire
power than any other nation on the face of the earth. One group like this
is more than any other nation has in their entire military. The U.S. has
nine such groups. Gives perspective, huh? BUT, in the spirit realm,
I don't believe we've gotten even a glimpse yet of the power in unity and
connecting for God's purposes for the church. It's really not about might
and power but about authority. The U.S. has the guns. The church has
authority because Jesus has authority and God has chosen to highly exalt Him and
give Him a name that is above every other name. And the church is in Him.
Wow! It's mind-boggling to me.

This is a report of the first Elgin Intercessor's Summit and Roundtable which
took place at Elgin's House of Prayer in September 2002.
On Saturday, September 28 the Elgin House of Prayer for the Nations hosted a
Prayer Summit and Roundtable discussion with intercessors from the Elgin area.
Pastor Phil Miglioratti was our facilitator. He did an excellent job!
The purpose of this meeting was to gather various intercessors in the area for
fellowship, corporate prayer, to listen and learn from each other as well as to
hear what they believe God is currently saying regarding Elgin.
We began with praise and worship. Before getting into a time of discussion,
Pastor Phil Miglioratti asked each of the intercessors to spend a short time
alone and to focus on the book Habakkuk. Shortly after returning to the group
setting, one of the ladies went into intercessory travail. Travail and how to
handle it in various settings became our first topic of discussion.
The second major topic of discussion came when another lady shared that it
was the leading of the Lord to do a word study on the word "burden".
Habakkuk, states in 1:1 KJV, " The burden which Habakkuk the prophet did
see." Various people shared thoughts of excessive burdens, in the sense of
great heaviness, and struggle of persevering even when one cannot see evidence
of progress. The intercessors had a range of burdens for Elgin. There was
discussion and prayer, especially on the scripture, "His yoke is easy, His
burden light."
After a short break, Pastor Miglioratti asked us to divide into small groups and
discuss three topics, 1. What was the word for today? 2. What is God speaking
about Elgin? 3. Something about HOPE? When we shared in the larger group each
had similar themes.
What was the Word for today?
Trust God, Submit to Authority, Walk in the New and
Living Way
What is God speaking about Elgin?
Go forward, resting in Jesus
Hope?
One intercessor had a question. What will the emerging
merger, the revived church in Elgin walking in unity look like? Another
intercessor had a picture in their heart of a ship moving ahead; not quite on
the Lord's course but through the many trials God would redirect us onto the
right course.
The last topic of discussion was communication between Pastors, intercessors and
the overall body of Christ. One suggestion, considering the full schedule of
Pastors, was for an intercessor to write a short letter to his/her Pastor as a
means of sharing what the Lord is speaking to them. One of the men said that
they prefer to share face to face with their Pastor.
At the close of the meeting, many expressed an interest in having similar
roundtable discussion and prayer times in the future. It was decided that the
House of Prayer would call another gathering of the Elgin intercessors in
approximately 3- 6 months. There is also a vision for a Fox Valley and Regional
Intercessors Summit and Roundtable.
We thank God for the entire body of Christ in Elgin. We are also thankful for
those intercessors that attended the Roundtable and Summit who also diligently
labor in prayer on behalf of the Body of Christ and the people who live in the
City of Elgin. A special thanks to those who contributed excerpts from their
notes for future reference and for this letter.
“By His Grace & For His Glory”

Networking continues in Austin. - 45 pastors prayed together for 3 days this
week.
Pray for our summit on January 31-February 1 at Promiseland church. Last Sunday
a prophetic word came forth there, a pastor had the interpretation and everyone
was on their face for the rest of the service.
Also a new network being formed for that first compassion center we prayed about
-- that redemptive gift of mercy! And it is smack on the toughest corner
in the city. Muslim headquarters, masonic lodge, crack dealers surround
the place. Isn't God good
Blessings, Barbara

3. A WORD IN DUE SEASON -
Update on the statewide prayer movement:
The Lord has done an awesome work in
the past 6 months in raising up a canopy of prayer mobilization on behalf of the
state of California. The prayers of the intercessors that have cried out for
unity in our state is beginning to come forth. The Lord has raised up a
ministry, called PRAY CALIFORNIA that has as it's mission statement: Pray
California Fellowship facilitates the connecting and serving of pastors and
prayer leaders to increase more effective statewide prayer (it's about
connecting relationally first). This will be done by: - Facilitating
relationships - Providing helpful resources - Improving communications -
Encouraging prayer mobilization
I would encourage you to stay informed by
checking out the website occasionally: www.praycal.org
May the Lord bless all of our efforts
in being united first with Him and His purposes and then with one another....so
that the world might know that we are His by the love that we have for one
another.
Together for His glory, Lynn Heatley

9. CAN HOLLYWOOD
BECOME "HOLY"WOOD?
>From: Wolfgang [mailto:w@hispowerportal.com]
Hollywood, CA -- More than just a play on words, Unlimited NeXtwork Group
and HisPowerPortal.com have produced a landmark new video, HOLLYWOOD
TRANSFORMATION, drawing the curtain to reveal the epic spiritual struggle
pitting the forces of liberation versus bondage in Hollywood and the media at
large. The video is set to premiere January 11 in large-screen format at
Harvest Rock Church Pasadena to mark its release.
Congenially hosted by Actor-Comedian Phil Snyder and Actress Janice Kovacek,
HOLLYWOOD TRANSFORMATION is presented in a fast-paced Entertainment News
Magazine style with dazzling visuals and powerful music. The video hits
the ground running, interviewing the likes of Dr. Ted Baehr, founder of the
Christian Film & Television Commission, who decries the abandonment of
Hollywood by the Church in decades past.
At its core HOLLYWOOD TRANSFORMATION is both a briefing and a wake-up call to
the worldwide Christian community to help them understand the importance of the
media's influence on the destiny of the nations and the need to pray for the
movers and shakers of the industry.
The video is divided into several segments, each of which presents a different
aspect of Hollywood, i.e.: the "dark side," the "light side"
and the "vision." Punctuating the segments are vignettes of
passionate prayer, movingly interpreted by world-class dancers in an engagingly
innovative visual style.
Regardless whether the viewer is a Christian or not, HOLLYWOOD TRANSFORMATION
will certainly make an indelible impact on the soul, imparting the insight
and passion of those who are partners with the God of the Bible to see Hollywood
transformed.

>From: "Cross Over Athens" <crossoverathens@integrity.com>
Bishop Eddie L. Long and several local pastors will lead a “Public Prayer
Walk,” on February 13, 2003 in the Henderson Extension area of the Hancock
Corridor. The prayer walk will commence at the close of the Shepherd’s
Fellowship* meeting beginning at 9:15 at St. James United Methodist Church.
Bishop Long, Senior Pastor of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia
will join Rev. Kent Reynolds, of St. James United Methodist Church, Rev. Howard
Conine of New Covenant Worship Center, Rev. Rufus Addison of Deliverance Temple,
Rev. Jerry Hutchins of Timothy Baptist Church and Rev. Jim Burkett of Christ
Life Community Church and other pastors in their efforts to revitalize troubled
neighborhoods in the Athens area, beginning with the Henderson Extension area.
The upcoming “Public Prayer Walk” goal is to join as many local pastors and
congregations together in prayer in preparation for the revitalization of the
Henderson Extension area. This prayer walk is tied to the larger “Pastors
Uniting the Kingdom” initiative that aims to unite the Christian community
along all racial and cultural lines to better the Athens area. Other components
of the “Pastors Uniting the Kingdom” initiative include efforts to join many
diverse congregations in worship, evangelism, unity and prayer to impact the
community for the kingdom of God.
The organizing pastors’ efforts to revitalize troubled communities around
Athens were bolstered this past November, when Bishop Long, speaking at the “Uniting
the Kingdom” Rally at the Classic Center pledged his support and considerable
resources to the project. Bishop Long pastors one of the largest congregations
in the country and is world renown for his preaching and community development
initiatives.
The “Public Prayer Walk” will begin around noon on the Henderson Extension,
as several local pastors and their congregations walk through this neighborhood
in the Hancock Corridor.
*-The Shepherd’s Fellowship is a group of Athens area pastors who meet
periodically to discuss issues affecting the Christian community. In
addition, the meetings provide the pastors an opportunity to fellowship with one
another.
